Cabana MAR at Pico Beach Tulum.
The Cabana was perfect. Drinking water provided, clean room, cleaned daily, lots of towels, wifi, power for charging things.
The property is great, lots of hammocks, tons of beach furniture at the beach club, and the beach club starts with coffee and good breakfast at 7am. The section of beach here is perfect white sand not crowded.
Washrooms are shared but nice and clean and there's only a few cabanas so you're not competing with many people for a shower.
Mimi is a great host and thinks of everything in her emails. Thanks Mimi! The beach club staff are super friendly and helpful if Pico Beach staff are busy.
Totally recommend this spot for low maintenance travellers, great value for the price, on a strip that is getting more and more expensive.
Everthing was fine. Nice price, down to earth real beachfront living, that's how we like it!
Gorgeous and affordable in Tulum, this place is a truly rare find! There really is nothing more luxurious than nature, and these cabanas are the perfect way to experience old Tulum. Close to lovely restaurants and shops, but right on the beach. Mimi and her assistant were perfect hosts and we loved meeting them both. The beach here is one of the best in the world, and the access to the beach club next door is perfect. We had breakfast at the restaurant, which was delicious, and then we lounged in the seaside beds. World class boutique restaurants and shops were just a short walk up the beach. This is one of the rare little untouched gems left in Tulum! Thanks so much for all warm hospitality, we'll be back :).
Overall there is nothing new to add that isn't said by the other reviewers and the description of this property. Everything is pretty awesome. The rooms are clean, bug spray is a good idea during the evening, the bathrooms don't have hot water which is A-OK with me, the restaurant next door has the nicest staff and great food (and affordable), Leo and Mimi are super helpful for any questions you got for your vacay, and stuff like that.
Beautiful spot in tulum! Thanks for the magical experience !
Mimi's place is charming, especially in the off-season when it gets really calm and intimate. the beach is ten steps away and you can use the sunbeds of the beach club next door. it might be a bit too rustic for AC, warm water and wifi addicts (network is in and out), but i would definetly recommend it for all the others!
Mimi is kind, cool and friendly. She came around often to ask me how I was and if I needed anything. And the cabanas are funky and truly old-skool Tulum and the garden is beautiful too !
My boyfriend and I had a really nice stay in this lovely beachside cabana. Mimi was really easy to deal with before and during our stay, answering all our questions quickly and giving nice advices for what to do in the area.
What I loved about this place:
- Really close from the beach
- Good price for a place on the beach
- Shared bathrooms clean and always available
- Private and peaceful, about ten to twelve people can stay at Pico Beach at the same time
- The room is being cleaned every day, and water is provided also everyday
- Nice beach with lots of daybeds and chairs for lounging
What to know before booking :
- The room can be really warm and humid
- The double bed was kind of hard
Overall, we had a lovely stay!
This trip was my first time in Mexico and I was very grateful that Mimi & Richard's place was my first destination. After booking, Mimi sent me and email with info how to find the place, helpful suggestions and general info about the area. That was a huge help as I was traveling alone and feeling a bit lost when I got to Mexico. Mimi made a point to find me and say hello - she is super cool! I never actually met Richard but he was always available to answer questions over text. As far as the place - paradise! I wanted to get away and disconnect - the simple cabana was all I needed to sleep and keep my stuff and let me enjoy the luxurious nature of the area. I can't wait to go back!
