Kim & Guy invite you to come and stay in our lovely old terraced house in Wadebridge, in beautiful Cornwall.
We have a lovely beamed double bedroom for you, in the house but slightly separate from the other bedrooms.
We could also accommodate extra people in another double room, which is available now but not listed as yet. If there is a large group of you, we are happy for use to use extra rooms, sofa beds, even tents in the garden if necessary! (We would negotiate a price with you) Max 8 people.
The shower room is almost en suite, next to the bedroom and a bit separate from the rest of upstairs. It's not 'sole use' but we try to only use it when you're out! We also have a nice sitting room which you are welcome to use, and a pretty garden. The sitting room has an open fire if it's chilly, and the snug has a woodburning stove.
We are 5 minutes walk from the gorgeous Camel Trail, and only 7 miles from the fabulous surf beaches around Polzeath, and the little fishing ports of Padstow & Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame). The fabulous Eden Project is a 35 min drive away, & the surfing beaches of Newquay are approx 25 mins away. Bodmin Moor is stunning, & again within easy reach. The 'west coast' beaches are only a 20 min drive away, and are lovely to visit in the evenings particularly, for the sunsets over the sea!
Wadebridge itself is a small market town with pretty much all you need. Perfect for an overnight stopover if you're doing a long distance walk or cycle.
We want you to feel at home, & are happy for you to use our bathroom to have a bath, or use the washing machine & tumble dryer for a small charge. You can also use our kitchen to cook a meal, again for a small charge.
We have fast & reliable Broadband wireless internet etc. We've travelled a lot ourselves & are very friendly & easy going... the house is beautiful too.
The price is per night for the double room, help yourself to tea, coffee, etc, and a cereal/toast/fruit etc breakfast. We can also cook you an evening meal (by arrangement -price negotiable).
Guy is an ex Golf Pro, & there are loads of fabulous golf courses nearby where you could have some informal tuition - costs etc would need to be discussed and arranged in advance.
Kim also makes glass beads in the garden studio room - these are for sale, or can be handmade to order while you're here. Or even better - learn to make your own 'flameworked' beads ( £20 per hour per person ) - and have something special to take with you when you leave!
It is usually just us here in the house, sometimes we have our children/stepchildren here (aged (phone number hidden)) . The youngest 3 are here every Wed, every other weekend and some of the school holidays. Our 20 yr old (Ben) is around in Uni holidays.
This is our family home - it's clean but not spotless!
We also have a rescue dog (greyhound cross) called Woody, who is extremely friendly (sometimes overly so!) Please let us know if you are unhappy to be around dogs & we will try to keep him out of the way.
We both work part time (teacher/flameworker, & postie) but are often around to help you make the most of this beautiful area. We can also usually sort out getting you to & from the local railway station or airport, but we'd need to charge for this. Whiterock Terrace is a pedestrian terrace - If you come by car there's parking on Whiterock Road, a few yards away. Hope to see you soon!
PS Cornwall is beautiful all year round, especially the wild winter waves...
No particular rules. We want you to feel welcome in our home, but we would just like to remind you that it IS our family home, we love it, and we ask that you treat it with respect. Thank you!
Our Host and Hostess were very welcoming. The cottage was very tidy and delightfully cosy. We absolutely loved our stay in Wadebridge, Kim and Guy were very knowledgable about the good local pubs and things to do. Breakfast was always delicious every morning. We throughly enjoyed chatting away to Guy and Kim in the evenings. We had a fantastic weekend thanks to Guy and Kim making everything so easy and relaxing, I would 100% recommend going to stay in this cottage you will love it. We shall definitely be travelling back to Kim and Guy's cottage very soon. Thank you for a fantastic weekend. Hope to see you both very soon. Gerry Villiers
I have spent almost 1 month in Kim and Guy's house and they have been simply fantastic. Every day I felt better than home. Almost every evening having dinner together and deep conversation or funny stories and experiences to share.
They even gave me the opportunity to share their friendships which were lovely like them. I really felt part of their world.
Again...great positive energy in this beautiful house. Thanks a lot for your love.
We had a wonderful time staying with Kim, Guy and Woody. They made us feel very welcome in their beautiful cottage! We enjoyed our stay and can recommend it to everyone who would like to explore Cornwall!
The only thing: if your are extremely susceptible to the cold, take a pair of slippers and a jumper ;-)
Kim & Guy, and Woody the dog made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a not-quite-ensuite (but exclusive to us) shower room.
I loved Kim & Guy's house! Victorian, rambling, slate floors, lovely cosy feel, and a well equipped kitchen where we were encouraged to help ourselves to breakfast.
You can't park right outside, but we found no difficulty finding a space.
Our satnav took us on a circuitous route to the house the first time, but once we got our bearings, its easy to get to.
Thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome. We'll be back!
Wonderful hospitality. And wonderful typical local house. I really felt relaxed and enjoyed Kim good energy. She is an inpiring person.
Everything was perfect to make me comfortable.
Meeting Kim you understand what is true hospitality.
No problems finding the place. Accommodation is great - big room featuring cattle, sweets, tea, private heater and bathroom located separately gives a feeling of real privacy.
Kim knows very well Cornwall areas and was extremely helpful in giving route and sightseeing instructions. She has big map and many travel guides. Don’t miss the chance to speak with her, because Cornwall is one of the most beautiful places in all England.
And something my wife simply couldn't pass by, Kim is making amazing jewelry from Murano glass :)
Such a lovely Saturday evening spent here! So comfy and homely. We loved it and have already recommended it to others who are planning a trip to Cornwall. Very quiet in a relaxing environment. Thanks again!
I'm a Mum of 2 older children, (19 & 21) & 'stepmum' to 3 younger children. I live with my partner Guy, who is a postie and gardener. I work part time as a Special Needs 'Portage' teacher (working with families in their homes) around North Cornwall. I also make handmade glass beads & jewellery (tuition available).
More than anything I love living in this beautiful county, & get outside as much as I can, either walking, cycling, kayaking, or just mooching around on the beautiful beaches.
We both really love meeting new people, particularly from overseas, perhaps sharing a glass of wine or two, or a nice local beer, and showing people what this gorgeous area has to offer.
