Kim & Guy invite you to come and stay in our lovely old terraced house in Wadebridge, in beautiful Cornwall.
We have a lovely beamed double bedroom for you, in the house but slightly separate from the other bedrooms.
We could also accommodate extra people in another double room, which is available now but not listed as yet. If there is a large group of you, we are happy for use to use extra rooms, sofa beds, even tents in the garden if necessary! (We would negotiate a price with you) Max 8 people.
The shower room is almost en suite, next to the bedroom and a bit separate from the rest of upstairs. It's not 'sole use' but we try to only use it when you're out! We also have a nice sitting room which you are welcome to use, and a pretty garden. The sitting room has an open fire if it's chilly, and the snug has a woodburning stove.
We are 5 minutes walk from the gorgeous Camel Trail, and only 7 miles from the fabulous surf beaches around Polzeath, and the little fishing ports of Padstow & Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame). The fabulous Eden Project is a 35 min drive away, & the surfing beaches of Newquay are approx 25 mins away. Bodmin Moor is stunning, & again within easy reach. The 'west coast' beaches are only a 20 min drive away, and are lovely to visit in the evenings particularly, for the sunsets over the sea!
Wadebridge itself is a small market town with pretty much all you need. Perfect for an overnight stopover if you're doing a long distance walk or cycle.
We want you to feel at home, & are happy for you to use our bathroom to have a bath, or use the washing machine & tumble dryer for a small charge. You can also use our kitchen to cook a meal, again for a small charge.
We have fast & reliable Broadband wireless internet etc. We've travelled a lot ourselves & are very friendly & easy going... the house is beautiful too.
The price is per night for the double room, help yourself to tea, coffee, etc, and a cereal/toast/fruit etc breakfast. We can also cook you an evening meal (by arrangement -price negotiable).
Guy is an ex Golf Pro, & there are loads of fabulous golf courses nearby where you could have some informal tuition - costs etc would need to be discussed and arranged in advance.
Kim also makes glass beads in the garden studio room - these are for sale, or can be handmade to order while you're here. Or even better - learn to make your own 'flameworked' beads ( £20 per hour per person ) - and have something special to take with you when you leave!
It is usually just us here in the house, sometimes we have our children/stepchildren here (aged (phone number hidden)) . The youngest 3 are here every Wed, every other weekend and some of the school holidays. Our 20 yr old (Ben) is around in Uni holidays.
This is our family home - it's clean but not spotless!
We also have a rescue dog (greyhound cross) called Woody, who is extremely friendly (sometimes overly so!) Please let us know if you are unhappy to be around dogs & we will try to keep him out of the way.
We both work part time (teacher/flameworker, & postie) but are often around to help you make the most of this beautiful area. We can also usually sort out getting you to & from the local railway station or airport, but we'd need to charge for this. Whiterock Terrace is a pedestrian terrace - If you come by car there's parking on Whiterock Road, a few yards away. Hope to see you soon!
PS Cornwall is beautiful all year round, especially the wild winter waves...
No particular rules. We want you to feel welcome in our home, but we would just like to remind you that it IS our family home, we love it, and we ask that you treat it with respect. Thank you!
We had a great break in Wadebridge. Kim and Guy were both very lovely and welcoming, quick communication and helpful when we arrived, showing us everything we might need during our stay. Our room was very cosy with a great bed, heating and lots of natural light. We also appreciated the biscuits and tea and coffee facilities! Kim had lots of good local suggestions, including trips to local towns (Padstow and co) and some nice restaurants and pubs in town. We also had a great night chatting with Kim and Guy with the dogs and open fire - always good to meet nice people through Airbnb.
Our stay in Kim and Guy's home was perfect.
The home is very beautiful, welcoming and looked after in every detail.
They helped giving us suggestions for dinner, offered a tea chatting in the evening, left tea, milk and biscuits in our room, invited us to go with them to see Eclypse the following morning. Room and bathroom were clean and lovely.
The bathroom was only for our use and in the room there was also an extra electrical heater.
We really recommend their home!
If it has been the 4th time I chose to stay other 2 weeks with Kim and Guy there it is not because I like to suffer and being uncomfortable.
Of course because I find their please quite and lovely and their company as well.
No words to say many many many thanks
Kim and Guy (and their two friendly dogs) made me feel very welcome and I had a very pleasant stay.
Nice place, good location for town. Room is nice size and has own facilities. Note for fellow tall people: I am 6 foot six and was comfortable in the bed!
I just needed a bolthole for a short trip. Although not on the beach, Wadebridge is well connected and would make a good location for anyone wanting to see places both north and south of the Camel estuary. Also has lots of nice places to eat.
Our Host and Hostess were very welcoming. The cottage was very tidy and delightfully cosy. We absolutely loved our stay in Wadebridge, Kim and Guy were very knowledgable about the good local pubs and things to do. Breakfast was always delicious every morning. We throughly enjoyed chatting away to Guy and Kim in the evenings. We had a fantastic weekend thanks to Guy and Kim making everything so easy and relaxing, I would 100% recommend going to stay in this cottage you will love it. We shall definitely be travelling back to Kim and Guy's cottage very soon. Thank you for a fantastic weekend. Hope to see you both very soon. Gerry Villiers
Again with Kim and Guy for the 3rd time. I keep having a very lovely staying with them. Lots of funny moments during our conversations especially when I say weird english words and they struggle to understand me.
I consider them like friend and it is a pleasure to come back to their relaxing house anytime.
I have spent almost 1 month in Kim and Guy's house and they have been simply fantastic. Every day I felt better than home. Almost every evening having dinner together and deep conversation or funny stories and experiences to share.
They even gave me the opportunity to share their friendships which were lovely like them. I really felt part of their world.
Again...great positive energy in this beautiful house. Thanks a lot for your love.
I'm a Mum of 2 older children, (19 & 21) & 'stepmum' to 3 younger children. I live with my partner Guy, who is a postie and gardener. I work part time as a Special Needs 'Portage' teacher (working with families in their homes) around North Cornwall. I also make handmade glass beads & jewellery (tuition available).
More than anything I love living in this beautiful county, & get outside as much as I can, either walking, cycling, kayaking, or just mooching around on the beautiful beaches.
We both really love meeting new people, particularly from overseas, perhaps sharing a glass of wine or two, or a nice local beer, and showing people what this gorgeous area has to offer.
