The Space

Stylish, funky apartment in one of the most fashionable areas of central London. A beautiful conversion in an old bank, the apartment is organised around an elegant, oval-shaped living room with panelled walls. There is original herringbone parque flooring throughout, high ceilings and curved walls.

The kitchen is large, well equipped and easy to work in with microwave, eye-level oven, integrated dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer, plenty of natural light and space.

The oval living room (formerly the bank's boardroom) has a very comfortable sofa bed if you have guests. One whole wall is window, bringing light and air to the room at all times of the day.

The bedroom is a comfortable size with en-suite (more curved walls!). There is Wifi, large, flat screen TV, plenty of DVD's, a printer and Bose I-pod speaker, You will have a wonderful stay in this lovely space.

Clerkenwell is considered to be one of London's hippest and most histortic locations. Situated within walking distance of :

The Tate Modern
Sadlers Wells Theatre
St Paul's cathedral
The Old Bailey
The City of London (financial district and big shopping mall)
The River Thames
Hoxton and Shoreditch ( neighbourhoods beloved of hipsters and clubbers!)
Islington (lots of shopping, cinemas, bars etc)
A short hop on a bus or taxi gets you into the West End

Farringdon tube station is a 5 minute walk from the apartment.

A few local tips:
Exmouth Market is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and well worth a visit. This is a much-loved and lively market street. It is a lovely place to meet a friend or take your laptop/book/newspaper and sit in any number of cafes and people-watch. At lunchtime food stalls assemble offering wonderful fresh hot and cold food from Italy, Spain, Morocco, India. A lovely fella called Jeremy runs a well-known, frequently written about coffee/music shop called Brill. A friendly, buzzy place where you can browse his serious music collection, ask questions about obscure albums or artists and Jeremy will have an answer or an opinion. His smoked salmon bagels are heaven! Across the road is very famous Spanish/Moroccan restaurant called Moro, a wonderful place to eat formally or just to sit at the bar and enjoy their delicious tapas and sherry. If you like Sebutio and Margueritas head for Kick Bar. Do not miss this street.

House Rules

The charm and uniqueness of Airbnb is that it is people's homes that are on offer, so I just ask that you bear this in mind and respect that it is my home, and I enjoy and cherish everything in it. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy it too, so please just be considerate and treat it with care. All the flooring is wooden and doesn't do well with sharp heels or greasy stains.

The space is strictly non-smoking.

Please let me know about any damage, stains or breakages when they happen, so much better than 'discovering' these things :)

Lastly, you are sharing the building with 5 other apartments, all very nice neighbours, so please do limit noise and I ask that no parties are held in the apartment.
