The train and/or bus will take you to the convention center, downtown, the airport and many other places in about 15-25 minutes. The bus stop is 2 1/2 blocks from my house. The drive to downtown is 10 minutes and 10-15 minutes to the airport. There is no airplane noise. There is street parking in front of the house. It is plentiful and free.

Interaction with Guests
I interact with my guests as much or as little they like. I am a fun loving, open minded 60 something and I love to have people in my home and brag about Portland. I am happy to help you find where you want to go and offer suggestions. I give piano lessons in the afternoons. Some are in the home. You may come and go as you please when I am teaching.
This neighborhood is very safe with plenty of beautiful homes and gardens. There is plenty of street parking with no meters. There are families out at play and walking around. Close by are several brew pubs and many shops and restaurants all within walking distance. I am in the Beaumont neighborhood, close to the Hollywood district. Many places are within walking distance, with easy bus lines to the areas that aren't, like Mississippi, Alberta and Hawthorne to name a few.
There are 3 major bus lines within 2 blocks of the house. There is also a lite rail connection close by in Hollywood and on 60th Ave. The buses will take you anywhere you need to go in Portland in about 15 minutes. You can easily get to the Alberta Arts district, Hawthorne Street, Mississippi Ave, the Pearl and downtown; all within 15 -30 minutes on public transportation. You can look up tri met in Portland on the computer and it will plan any short or long trip you want to take.
Other Things to Note
I have a cat.
There will be a note on the dresser explaining the rules of the house when you are here. I cover all the bases right down to the compost bin. I am flexible on check in times if you need to get here earlier than the posted 1pm, as well as check out times if you need to leave your things here after the 11am time. I have 2 bikes that are pictured here that you may use free of charge. I have a cat that is indoors at nights and in the winter.
I would expect that guests and myself are quiet after 11pm and before 8am. That does not mean you must be home; only quiet to allow others to sleep.
It will be expected that if you rent the room, you are the only one sleeping in it. You may bring a guest in to show him/her your space, but not to stay for an extended period of time.
Careful use of utilities is appreciated; lights and fans turned off when not in use and no windows open in the wintertime.
Only eat for what is for breakfast and don't use it for any other meal.
In the winter, the storm door needs to be kept closed tightly.
I expect guests to clean up after themselves in the kitchen, including the coffee maker.
I just expect common courtesy, responsibility and kindness.
Also, there is no smoking in or within 25' of home outside. Thank you.
Leigh's beautiful place is very conveniently located close to both the airport and downtown and well connected by public transport. The room was very comfortable and cozy and the bathroom and refrigerator are well stocked. There are helpful instructions and labels throughout the house to help you get oriented as well. I loved the peaceful and quiet neighborhood with its beautiful houses and wish I could have spent more time here. Will be back for sure!
Leigh was a wonderful host and keeps a very clean house. She was very easy going and lets you pretty much come and go as you please. It was a my first AirBNB experience and I would highly recommend staying here and was pleasantly surprised that things went so smoothly.
Quiet, safe neighborhood but easy drive to the heart of Portland. Lovely home that has a grand piano and beautiful kitchen. Two guest rooms share a nice bathroom with shower. Excellent experience!
This is a charming little craftsman home in a nice neighborhood of NE Portland. It is close to good food, coffee, beer, bike, etc. Leigh was an excellent host--the house is very well organized for guests. I especially appreciated that she lets guests borrow her bikes, which is a great way to get around Portland.
We had a wonderful time at Leigh's. The house was beautiful, in a quiet neighborhood and close to the Sandy Blvd bus line. Leigh was easy to reach and provided lots of information about alternative methods of traveling from the airport. We would definitely recommend it.
Leigh is a great host and was very welcoming! She even picked us up from the airport and gave us some great recommendations for our stay in Portland - she gave us a treasure hunt list, which was really fun! This place is located in an awesome neighborhood which was very save and has a great bus connection right around the corner which takes you straight to downtown in about 15 minutes. Riding busses in Portland is great - you can get a day ticket for $5 (as a student even for $2.50) (!!). We highly recommend this place! Thank you again :)
The accommodations and amenities were first class, as was Leigh the host. She was quite friendly, personable, and endeavored to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I would unreservedly recommend this outstanding quiet and clean home as a wonderful experience for the Airbnb guest.

About the Host, Leigh
I am a single woman, who teaches piano for a living. I am fun loving, easy going and open minded. I love interacting with my guests and helping them when they want it. However, I will not intrude. When not teaching piano, I sing in choirs, do gardening and explore Portland. There are many neat neighborhoods and places to eat and drink here.
Occasionally I travel to visit family in Illinois, California and England.
If you come and stay here, I will be able to point you in the right direction of many different places to have fun in Portland. I have lived here for over 8 years and continue to find it fascinating. Before living here I lived in southern California for 13 years and before that in Wisconsin for 15 years. I am one of six kids and have 2 grown children of my own and 2 young granddaughters who are one of the lights of my life. I was born and raised in Evanston, IL and am a Midwesterner at heart.
