I have a queen bed in one room and a twin bed in another bedroom. The twin rents for $40/night and the queen for $45 with $10 for an extra person in the queen room. The queen bed is a sleep number bed before they had the numbers. It has two mattresses in it with separate controls for adjusting firmness. This listing is for the queen room. I rent out both rooms at the same time, so there may be a shared bathroom. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom along with some toiletries to use.
There is a large kitchen for your use, a bathroom, wifi and a backyard with a deck. There is a washer and dryer for your use while you are here. I have a coffee machine and an electric pot for heating water. There is also a blender and a toaster oven if you need them. There is plenty of cabinet and frig. space for your food if you are here for a longer stay. There will be either fruit, rolls, eggs or oatmeal for you to have for breakfast, along with some juice and coffee or tea
My neighborhood is in the Beaumont district which is close to the Hollywood. district This area has 2 coffee shops within walking distance, 3 micro breweries within walking distance and many many shops and restaurants, also within walking distance. Close by in Hollywood is the historic Hollywood Theater for just $7/ticket!
There are two major bus lines with one that goes directly downtown. There is also a train connection right in Hollywood. The drive to downtown is 10 minutes and 10-15 minutes to the airport. There is absolutely no airplane noise. I am not in a flight path and I am not so close to the airport that that would be a concern. There is street parking in front of the house. It is plentiful and free!
I will be able to point you in the right direction for many Portland hot spots, such as the Pearl District, Hawthorne St, 23rd Avenue, Alberta St. the convention center , Mississippi Ave.., the tram, the zoo and much more. There is a TV with Netflix in the living room and a baby grand piano, if you like to play. There is also a dvd player.
A stroll through the neighborhoods can be very relaxing and entertaining with all of the different homes and gardens to view. The neighborhood, near Alameda St., is frequently one for walking tours. I also have 2 bikes for riding. One is a Townie and the other is a recumbent bike. Riding around the neighborhoods in the summer is a favorite thing to do. It stays light late here in the summer.
My house is 10-15 away from the airport, bus station and train station. I will provide transportation to and from the bus station, airport or train station if my schedule allows. I am charging a $10,00 fee each way for this service for gas and convenience.
If you are an Airbnb member with a picture and have had a review, your reservation will usually be accepted within an hour of inquiry. Unless you inquire after I've gone to bed. Then it will be first thing the next morning. Please do not reserve for anyone else except the Airbnb member unless you have first conversed with me. I have had some problems in this area, so would appreciate that consideration.
I will do everything I can to make your visit comfortable and pleasant.
Guests will have access to the whole house and yard except for my bedroom and bathroom in the basement.
I interact with my guests as much or as they like. Many of my reviews mention this as a strength for booking with me.
There will be a note on the dresser explaining the rules of the house.

Leigh's home is located in a quiet neighborhood in northeast Portland. She's a gracious host and everything was as promised -- clean, comfortable and relaxing. I'm not sure if I've ever slept better, or longer, while away from home -- very comfy! Thanks, Leigh.
This is my second time staying at Leigh's lovely home and I hope to stay there next time I travel to Portland. It feels so welcoming when I walk in, it's like I am staying at a friend's place. The queen room is very comfortable and the place is spotless. It is a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, close to shops, public transport and good food. Highly recommended, such a great deal! Rose
Another great stay at Leigh's place, everything perfect the way it ought to be, which is what I have come to expect here. Clean, relaxing and a wonderful host to be with if you want.
I think this was my 3rd time staying, so you know it's good if people are coming back. Leigh is always a great host.
Great location, good bed, good wifi, and clean. Just a cute little house in a good neighborhood. It is kept clean. Towels and sheets all there and nice. I could occasionally hear the other person staying there but not too much. In Portland you are out all day doing stuff anyway. Piano lessons sign out front made it easy to find each time I came back in. Overall all a good place to stay but when you factor in the low price it is a steal.
My 2nd stay with Leigh... great host and always pleasant. You won't regret it.
Leigh is wonderful and so is her place. I had stayed before so knew what to expect: an excellent experience.
Staying at Leigh's was about as easy and comfortable and hospitable as it gets. She has made the most of her Craftsman cottage. The rooms were well furnished and the Queen bed was divine. Leigh teaches piano for parts of some days while making her guests feel free to come and go or stay around. My only issue was the unlocked door policy during the day. When i told her about my concerns she immediately adjusted for me, which I much appreciated. People return to Leigh's, I met several and they expressed being as comfortable staying there as I was. The location is great, I had a car so no need for public transport, however it is close by and is walking to shops and amenities.
Great house and host. Leigh made me feel comfortable and at ease. Great accomodations.
Great location in the neighborhood of charming historical family houses, with excellent public transportation connection to downtown and airport.
Nice surprise was Leah's generous offer of variety food (to fix yourself a breakfast). There is a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and I'd definitely recommend this place.
