We really loved our stay at the People's Place. Adrienne was more than easy to communicate with both before and during our visit. We appreciated her quickly taking action to install A/C when a early heat wave hit DC and her willingness to work with our quirky flight schedule on both ends of our.
Highly recommend the apartment for its central location and proximity to the Metro and easy walking distance to the Mall and the 14th St. restaurant scene.
Very nice 2bedrooms in Washington. The location (central), and very quiet area was perfect to visite and rest... The appartment was clean and kitchen was usefull... A big supermarket is in the corner, nice bars and restaurant are close to the place...
Check in and check out were easy, Adreinne give us clear advise..
I would definitely come back again in this appartment for my next trip in Washington...
The location of People's Place 2 really helped in our short stay. The location was great, close to great restaurants, close to a Starbucks, close to a metro. With that being said the noise at night was unbearable combined with the rock hard beds which made it difficult to get a good nights rest. Not only was it loud at night but half way through our stay we discovered the windows were not properly locked (leaving all our valuables exposed), once locked it still did not help with the noise. Very noisy neighborhood with popular gas station right outside one of the bedroom windows. The pictures were a little deceiving especially of the bathroom, the picture of the floating door on the wall is the entrance to the bathroom, which is quite a large step, and then there are steps right outside of the bathtub, which the bathtub did not drain properly. Not only are there dangerous stairs (which we slipped on getting out) the faucet knobs would fall off when touched. There was also a light out in the bathroom, which we found a spare light bulb, and that still did not resolve the problem. No a/c or heating unless you consider a fan and a space heater acceptable sources for heating and cooling. We had to go on a hunt in the building for extra towels due to only two towels being in the apartment. The outside was not well kept looked like a overgrown cemetery. The inside was not well kept either multiple light bulbs were out.
This was my first AirBNB experience and it was good! The apartment is in good shape, and equipped with toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels, microwave, iron, a flat-screen TV with cable, plenty of places to sit in the living room, etc. It's incredibly close to the convention center and a metro station, 1 block away from a beautiful and large grocery store, and really close to tons of restaurants and Chinatown, and within a couple of miles of the National Mall. The neighborhood itself seems quite nice and quiet, although the general area overall has historically been a little sketchy, so caution when walking around is always important.
A few minor issues:
1) We were told there would be a hairdryer in the apartment, and there wasn't (just an empty box, so not sure if a previous tenant or the host is at fault), and I didn't get a reply from the host when I queried her about it.
2) The drain in the bath was partially clogged, which is a bit inconvenient when several people are taking showers back to back.
3) There are only 2 light sources, spaced closely together, in the kitchen/living room area, and halfway into our 1 week stay, they became quite dim. There are no other light sources so it was pretty dark, especially in the living room area. It'd be great to add a lampstand or something else as back-up in that area.
Overall, it was a cute and very convenient place to stay. Thanks very much!
Adreinne let us know before we arrived that there was an issue with the unit we had reserved so she made sure she had the lower unit ready and cleaned before we got there. The switch wasn't expected but Adreinne did her best to accommodate us around the change, worked with the upper unit to mitigate noise, and made us feel welcome. Adreinne is very easy to work with and responds immediately to questions or concerns.
The flat is well located close to the Convention Center and Supermarket, Metro Station and you can reach the Downtown walking 10 min
The flat is like a fridge, only with cooling system but no heaters. Sadly, our stay matched with a very cold week, therefore we suffered due to the cold. In one if the rooms was almost as cold as outside, and one of us had to sleep in the living room. The internet sometimes didn't work that well. But all the rest was fine. The place for 3 people was fine but we doubt that more than 3 would be comfortable. The bell did nog work as well. Pitty if you are expecting something or some one. We didn't get to meet Adreinne, making our stay a bit inpersonal.
