The apartment was exactly as described and was warm, cosy and everything worked. Adreinne sent a series of helpful mails to welcome me and was very flexible regarding my check in time, for which I am grateful. The location of the apartment is perfect for the Convention Center and the metro. In the last months, a new Giant supermarket has opened no more than 100 yards away from the front door, and that really helped too.
All in all I had a great stay
Appartment is on the second floor of an old house with character, in a quiet street and perfectly situated for a visit to Washington.
About 30 min walk to the mall. Metro station is only a few minutes away. A small supermarket close by.
Good value for money, it has enough space with two separate bedrooms, a kitchen/living and a bathroom.
Interior is basic but adequate with some kitchen equipment, a cooking facility, coffee machine, microwave, t.v., good wifi connection.
We had some cold days but the heating was excellent and warm water supply was also very good.
Adreinne gave us a warm welcome still busy cleaning and when we asked for an extra key she immediately took care of that.
The apartment was just what we needed! It is quite close to Chinatown (approximately 15 minutes walk), clean, kitchen supplies etc. everything we needed was given and it's good value for the money we spent. Everyting went smoothly and the host was available anytime we needed help or assistance. A good grocery store is just opposite which was very convenient. We definitely enjoyed our stay!
8th Street is only a block away from the Washington Convention Centre yet it felt like we were in a shady suburb well away from the city centre. The apartment was clean, very spacious and incredibly welcoming. Two bedrooms and a great living area made it very easy to unpack, relax and enjoy a bit of a rest before attacking the city and its offerings. The apartment is in a three storey building with churches on two corners of the block it is set in. COnvenient to all the City as the Mt Vernon Subway is only two blocks away. Shops were a little distance but once found it was easy to get things when out walking. Adreinne has provided an excellent place to stay. I will certainly try to access this aprtment again. Bob.
Accommodations were just what we needed for our time in Washington, DC. Adreinne was responsive to our questions. All in all, an excellent stay!
Great location near metro, circulator and within 5 min walking distance to downtown. The apartment is clean and orderly, with very good washing facilities. Smart key system helps when you are more than one guest. Good communication with host. Thoughtful solutions for a trouble-free stay.
My husband and I flew in for a convention. The People's Place 2 was easy to get to and close to everything. The neighborhood was quiet.
The apartment was vintage chic/but lovely and comfortable. The dishwasher leaks-alot, only used it once. The bathroom was updated and the jetted tub was great after a long day of sightseeing. However it was up two steep steps. We did not mind but it could be an issue for little ones or older folks. We loved the place and will book again.
Had a Great experience! Apartment was very clean and close to the majority of monuments and several restaurants!
This apartment is convenient to the Metro and Convention Center and newly developing Green Market complex. However, we felt that the rental lacked TLC and basic amenities that are we have fund in other airbnb properties. There were no napkins (or substitute paper towels), hand towels, dish sponges or dish washer detergent in the kitchen. The coffee maker, toaster and microwave were clean and looked new, all lined up on a nice wooden worktable--without outlets or extension cords nearby. (They had to be moved to the dining table to be used.) There were no extra linens for 4 people for one week: we were provided one bath towel each.
The location of a free washer and dryer in the building is an asset we noted on the web site; however, both the washer and dryer were left filled with large quilts, and the area beside and in front of the machines was piled with laundry, so there was really no convenient access to the machines. We could have moved laundry into our unit and managed. It does appear that in the absence of the owner, the apartment is not receiving quality care.
BEWARE! After traveling from Augusta we arrived late night in DC and found our filthy accommodations. The beds had been slept in. There was food in the fridge, urine in the toilet and not one clean towel. The painters had left a ladder in the kitchen, switch plates were missing from the arching switches and The smoke detector was missing from our second story apartment (lawful?). Broken furniture and inadequate AC. Leaking bathtub and not enough hot water for one person. Called the host immediately and she guided us to some towels and sheets. With no other options at a late hour we cleaned her apartment. No support from airbnb to resolve after we contacted them in the morning and provided 27 pictures. Our host was unjustly paid even though we left. Shameful Scam. Just get a hotel room and leave out the middle man! The business model is flawed by airbnb and their inability to support its patrons. They take your money in advance and leave you with no recourse. SCALPERS. And you Adrienne deserve whatever karma comes your way. You know that was wrong.
