Our semi is really close to Coogee Beach, has three big bedrooms and will give you a great base from which to explore Sydney. Suitable for couples, groups of friends or families.
Bright and sunny, in the heart of Coogee!
Welcome to beautiful Coogee Beach in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, 8 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.
Available is the entire street level of my large semi-detached house in a great spot at Coogee beach, with private entrance at street level. Marble fireplaces, solid bamboo floors and pressed tin ceilings grace this 100 year old home.
The private apartment has three big bedrooms:
One with a queen bed and built-in wardrobe;
One with a queen bed; and
One with 2 hotel king singles which connect to form one king bed and built-in wardrobe.
There is air conditioning in the kitchen/lounge and all bedrooms have ceiling fans. For winter there are heaters in each bedroom and a gas heater in the lounge.
There's free wireless internet, cable TV (in lounge room and one queen bedroom), decked out kitchen and I'll even leave you a nice bottle of Aussie wine to get things started. I also provide some essentials (bread, milk, eggs, OJ, fruit, coffee capsules, that sort of stuff). The kitchen is pretty well stocked - sugar, oil, baking paper, flour, foil, butter, etc. There's a good gas cooktop and heaps of cupboard/pantry storage space. A new convection/steam/microwave oven was fitted in March 2015.
There's a supermarket 100m away.
Linen, bath towels and beach towels are provided.
A portable cot, baby bath and high chair can be provided free of charge if you need them. There are some toys, baby plates, bowls and cutlery in the kitchen too.
There's a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a washing machine and clothes dryer. There's also a laundromat around the corner for dry cleaning etc.
My wife Jacqui and I have made great friends through airbnb, and try hard to ensure that our guests have an awesome stay. If there's anything we can do please don't hesitate to ask!
You'll love the location!!
It is just a few minutes walk from the beach, and a one minute walk from the restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Being one street back from the action, it's nice and quiet, but super accessible.
If you're after nice walks, this is the place. From the house you can walk north, from Coogee Beach around the Beach Walk to Gordons Bay. then Clovelly, then Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi. Heading south the walk passes the bays around South Coogee to Maroubra, and you can stick to the water the whole way around. Its pretty awesome.
There are multiple bus lines that service the area, with bus stops very close to the house. Sydney's CBD is a 20-30 minute trip, Bondi Junction is only 10 minutes.
Let me know if you need any other info!
Guests have sole access to the apartment, and no facilities are shared with anyone else.
Interaction with Guests
Either Jacqui or I will meet you at the property to let you in and give you a quick rundown of the place, where stuff is, etc. Then we leave you alone! If you need anything during your stay all you need to do is call or shoot me an email and I'll sort it out.
Coogee is an awesome suburb, close to the Sydney CBD but with a great village feel. There are heaps of cafes, restaurants and bars near the house, and the beach is beautiful.
Street parking is available, but most guests find that taking a bus is easier to get into the city, and most other things are in walking distance. There are bus stops very close to the house, including an express service to the CBD.
If you're going to take the kids to the zoo or Luna Park, take the ferry! It's worth it for the views of Sydney Harbour.
If you have a car please ensure you park in the unrestricted spots on the street. There are also a few goget carshare cars near the house - one is only a block away in a dedicated spot.
The usual - have fun and please respect the house and neighbours. No loud parties please.
I can't say enough positive things about our stay here. To begin with, after the airline cancelled our flight and rescheduled to the next day, Rohan generously reimbursed us for the night we would be missing. When we arrived, he was there to meet us at the door and answered any questions we had about the area. The fridge was stocked with all of the essentials- beer, wine, eggs, milk, juice- and there was fresh bread on the counter. When the coffee machine wasn't working, Rohan went and purchased a brand new one for us the next day.
The house itself was absolutely perfect for our family of five. Cozy, with more than enough space to spread out. Comfortable beds and plenty of towels, extra blankets, and a giant teddy bear our kids loved. Location was ideal- cafes, grocery store, public transportation, and one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to, all steps away from the front door.
Having this house to come back to every night made our wonderful stay in Sydney even better. If we ever have the privilege of visiting this great city again, we will absolutely be making a reservation in this house.
Rohans house in coogee was perfect. We had a wedding at the surf club which was a 2 min walk. We had 6 couples and we're all so impressed with how clean and comfortable the house was. We would of loved to stay for a full week. Literally a 1 min walk to all the coogee shops, cafes and beach. Rohans wife greeted us and showed us around. Later that afternoon Rohan dropped by to introduce himself and gave us a beautiful bottle of red wine. Highly recommend.
Nice and comfortable house in a great location and a helpful host. We were travelling with three kids and it worked well for us. Thank you Rohan for the toast, eggs, wine etc. that were waiting for us!
House could have been a bit cleaner on arrival and the wifi only worked in the hallway, close to the modem. During summer it can get very warm in the bedrooms as there is working airconditioning only in the livingroom/ kitchen area. We didn't figure out how to use the oven/ microwave, but that was probably just us.
If you are looking for a relaxed holiday atmosphere and easy-going beach lifestyle, Coogee is perfect and the house suitable for families/ friends travelling together.
Thanks very much for staying with us.
I'm sorry you had a couple of issues. I'd like to respond to each in turn:
I have given the cleaner your feedback and we'll check more carefully after it's cleaned in future.
The wifi has a range extender in the middle bedroom, which for some reason was unplugged by a previous guest, and I didn't realise. I've now placed it out of sight.
The oven has been replaced with a new steam/convection/microwave unit, and instructions left for future guests.
We had a fantastic experience at Rohan's lovely abode. The house is perfectly positioned within a short stroll to Coogee beach and easily accommodates six people without feeling like you are living on top of each other. The rooms are quite generously sized and there is very little noise from the surrounding suburb that makes its way indoors. Rohan was extremely accommodating, ensuring that the first member of our party was met with keys on arrival, and he was full of useful tips on how to get the most out of the area. He went out of his way to ensure that our stay was as pleasant and stress free as possible. We would definitely stay again!
I did actually not stay at the house myself as we had an extra member of the team support crew to accommodate. However I did meet the team there for a pre-event meeting and they were very happy with the accommodation. They could not get the convention oven/microwave operating though and maybe some detailed instructions would help here. The location was fabulous as our Sydney Coastrek event commenced on the beach about 4 mins walk away.
Accommodation was clean and inviting. Had everything you could need and in a great location.
The House was perfect for the occasion, right location right reservation times and very curtious to let us leave our bags early and leave them late while the cleaners worked, thanks for everything.
