About this listing
Beautiful fully-furnished and self-sufficient second-floor century apartment in Montreal's hippest neighbourhood, Mile End. For the full Montreal experience, you don't want to be downtown (yet all the festival action is 15 mins away by metro).
Apartment is furnished in good taste and with respect for the style of the building, which boasts original moldings, hardwood floors and lots of light. There is a brand-new king size bed in master bedroom, a brand-new Queen size bed in bedroom 2, and a third bedroom has a comfy Queen sofa bed and also a crib for 6 months + baby. All beds are equipped with high thread-count linens and pillows. There is also a well-equipped kitchen. fully renovated bathroom, fibre optic cable, wifi, dishwasher, washer/dryer and first-day breakfast bagels from Montreal's famous St-Viateur bagel, 1 block away!
Balconies in front and back (propane BBQ incl). Bright sunny summer days and cool airy nights. Lots of space to settle in! (Smoking permitted on balconies).
The apartment is situated in Montreal's most desirable neighbourhood. Mile End is the setting for many of Mordecai Richler's novels, and is now a mix of ultra-hip bars and tasty restaurants on the main street one block away. Also, you'll be close to all amenities: Groceries, liquor store, drugstores, depanneurs, post office. You're connected to the rest of the city with bus lines and BIXI (shared bikes) mere steps away. The metro (Rosemont) is a five-minute walk.
This property is ample for up to 6 people in 3 beds. One bedroom is dark and the other two sizeable and bright. Kitchen and bathroom were nice -- good shower! Sitting on the back porch nice for a refreshing drink or snack.
It is a great neighborhood! Pleasant, interesting to look at, with lots of restaurants and other stores etc. It felt safe walking around between 11 and 12.
Read carefully to figure out where to park. With house to your back, there is non-resident parking to your left. Look during the workday as the spaces may be filled in the morning and evening. On the next street -- Rue Clark, I think -- there are some non-resident spaces that have few limitations on times you can park.
I love Drawn and Quarterly bookstore on Bernard, close to the rental. Check out the 161 and 55 buses because they may be better than the subway for some of your travel.
Great place in a great location with everything we needed for a fun weekend! Melora was quick to respond with suggestions about transportation, parking, and recommendations around the neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.
It was nice to stay at Melora's place. The kitchen was modern and beautiful and the place was clean and tidy. We would definitely reccomend it.
Melora's place was a great location to stay for our quick trip to Montreal during the F1 weekend. The apartment was exactly as described and there was plenty of space for the 5 of us with the three separate rooms and couch. I can personally vouch for the comfort of the king size bed. The apartment itself was quiet (greatly appreciated!) and the neighbourhood was vibrant with plenty of nearby (walk-able) shops and restaurants and very close to the metro, with only a few stops to downtown and beyond. Melora and PJ were very accommodating, arranging for us to drop our baggage before check in time as we had an early flight in to Montreal. Melora is very friendly and was quick to reply to any questions I had. Would definitely recommend this location!
Melora's place was beautiful! High ceilings, crown moulding, hardwood floors, everything you would want in a classic Montreal apartment. There were three fully separated bedrooms all with very comfortable beds. Her kitchen had everything we needed and living room was very comfortable. A great place to stay!
Very convenient location, bixi and busses very close by, nice shops in the immediate area. Perfect as a place to lay your head, good for a small group travel. Take into account this is an airbnb location, not someone's fully stocked home. Baby friendly items in the home. Melora is very hospitable and communicative, and answered my questions at once. Would love to stay here again for a short visit in Montreal.
We enjoyed a comfortable stay in this home for just over a month - we were three adults and a 2 year old. The beds are great and ensure a restful sleep. It was very nice to have such an open kitchen to be able to cook and commune together as a family. The location makes it easy to get around, and we found it was also ideal for children as many parks were within walking distance. Melora is an excellent host. She was quick to return any messages and to resolve any issues or questions that arose.
