Beautiful fully-furnished and self-sufficient second-floor century apartment in Montreal's hippest neighbourhood, Mile End. For the full Montreal experience, you don't want to be downtown (yet all the festival action is 15 mins away by metro).
Apartment is furnished in good taste and with respect for the style of the building, which boasts original moldings, hardwood floors and lots of light. There is a brand-new king size bed in master bedroom, a brand-new Queen size bed in bedroom 2, and a third bedroom has a comfy Queen sofa bed and also a crib for 6 months + baby. All beds are equipped with high thread-count linens and pillows. There is also a well-equipped kitchen. fully renovated bathroom, fibre optic cable, wifi, dishwasher, washer/dryer and first-day breakfast bagels from Montreal's famous St-Viateur bagel, 1 block away!
Balconies in front and back (propane BBQ incl). Bright sunny summer days and cool airy nights. Lots of space to settle in! (Smoking permitted on balconies).
The apartment is situated in Montreal's most desirable neighbourhood. Mile End is the setting for many of Mordecai Richler's novels, and is now a mix of ultra-hip bars and tasty restaurants on the main street one block away. Also, you'll be close to all amenities: Groceries, liquor store, drugstores, depanneurs, post office. You're connected to the rest of the city with bus lines and BIXI (shared bikes) mere steps away. The metro (Rosemont) is a five-minute walk.
Melora (email hidden)ur of us went for a long weekend. It's a fantastic location for exploring Montreal. The dining and entertainment options within a short walk are unlimited. The apartment is large, comfortable, and couldn't have been better for us. Melora is a great hostess, and her advice on the neighborhood and city as a whole was spot-on. I would strongly recommend staying with Melora if you are coming to Montreal.
This apartment was perfect for our trip!
We stayed in Melore's apartment for a weekend in June, traveling as a group of four (one couple, two friends). The apartment was gorgeous. We're all very jealous of the high ceilings! Each of the 3 bedrooms was lovely and spacious. The kitchen was also very spacious, and would have been well-suited to a longer stay.
The location was great. It was right in the heart of the Mile End, so we were able to walk to all the cool shops and restaurants on Lawrence, Fairmount, Parc, and Bernard O. It was nice to be in a quiet residential neighborhood instead of the touristy section of town.
We were very pleased with the apartment and would definitely choose to stay there again.
le quartier ne nous a pas beaucoup plu, mais le logement était agréable mis à part l escalier trop abrupte et un petit effort à faire en rénovation dans la salle de bain.
on commençait à s'y habituer mais il fallait s'en aller malheureusement...
We had a lovely stay at Melora's place in Montreal for the Formula 1 race. It really is a traditional Montreal apartment in a fantastic neighbourhood and convenient access to downtown. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There were only 3 of us staying there, but I could easily see it being comfortable for up to 3 couples. The only slightly tricky part was parking, but Melora and PJ were responsive and told us quickly where it was allowed.
Melora was the best host ever! She's super friendly, extremely helpful and was there to help in any way possible. She's eager to make neighborhood recommendations to ensure that your trip is the best possible. The apt is beautiful , clean, comfortable, has an amazing back porch w/grill and you couldn't ask for a better location in Montreal. I can't wait to go back and stay at Melora's!
Melora was a great, helpful host, and was easy to deal with. The apartment was clean and spacious, and had lots of nice character. The balcony was great, and there was enough room for everyone. The neighbourhood is awesome, and the apartment is a short walk to all of the best parts of Mile End. There are lots of great shops, bars, and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The metro is about 15 minutes away, but there is the bus just two blocks away which takes you all the way downtown. Overall a great stay, and would definitely book again.
Had a very nice, short stay at Melora's apartment. The location was in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, but still close enough to walk to most of what we wanted to do. The apartment was clean, cute and spacious for 6 people. There was some confusion with the house number at first, but Melora was very attentive and able to point us in the right direction when we contacted her upon arrival. We also had some issues with the wi-fi at first, but these were also resolved on our first night there by Melora.
Overall We had a great stay and I would highly recommend this accommodation.
This was my first Airbnb experience and overall, I am impressed!
First of all, the neighborhood is totally lovely and very walkable. It's about a 15-minute walk to the closest metro stop and we wished a few times over the weekend that we were a bit closer, but it let us really explore the neighborhood. There are lovely little cafes on St. Viateur, including the St. Viateur bagel shop. There was a map in the apartment, which was extremely helpful.
The apartment itself was very comfortable. The bedroom with the king is enormous and could easily sleep a few more with an inflatable mattress. One of the queens is a futon, but was reported as relatively comfortable. The dining table seats six comfortably and the kitchen is quite large and, had we done any cooking, it would have been a good one to socialize in. It was very easy to park on the street for the weekend--though I wish I would have clarified what the rules were. There were some signs at random intervals that I think only applied to specific spots but wasn't sure. We avoided a ticket, our friends did not. There were several handy conveniences--a keychain for the key, several umbrellas, things like that. There were five towels available and a spacious shower.
The only disappointment was the Wifi. The password and network provided didn't match the unit in the apartment and a call to fix it went unanswered (though I was calling from an American phone that eventually died, so that might not be the case). Since out-of-network data is so expensive over the border, this proved to be a bit of an inconvenience.
Other than that, wonderful stay! Melora also provided restaurant and bar recommendations.
Six of us stayed at Melora's place for two nights, including New Years Eve. The place was tidy and good to go when we arrived and we all slept comfortably in the two beds and one large futon. It's a sweet and cozy apartment with the all the basics that made it a perfect home base for our short trip to Montreal.
When we were arriving and when we had questions about the WIFI, Melora was in touch promptly with information, so everything went smoothly. She was a helpful, laid-back, and accessible host.
I wish we'd had more time to explore the neighborhood, but with NYE celebrations we found ourselves jetting to and from downtown for most of our visit. I'd be interested in returning to enjoy the place in the summer (the stairs to the front door felt a little treacherous in the snow) but I'd recommend it to visiting groups any time of year!
tres bien, très propre
