Our home, is one amongst the ten first ecological houses of centre Paris. It was built in 2010 with a modernist inspiration at the back of a simple courtyard of this very popular area of the 17th Arrondissement of Paris. It is situtated in a working class area with very mixed population, very near from trendy village des batignoles where many painters lived and on a straight line between Montmartre and Les Champs Elysées.
63 m² (678 ft²) for the house and 50 m² (538 ft²) for the garden. A wooden frame for the walls and a supperb tripple glazing facade (protected by electrical shades) makes for a very quiet place overlooking the cutest japanese inspired garden. It has appeared in a number of ecological architecture and interior design magazines.
I personnaly made the decoration from scracth and chose carefully paches of coulour to brighten up very light coulours on the walls of the main room. Some of the funiture has been created by myself the rest has been carefully chosen amongst simple antiques. The main room offers a Sofa area and an open kitchen with a big table. It also features a very high ceiling and therefore a mezzanine hosts a library with desk and computer. The bedroom is more intimate and also looks out on the garden. It is fusnished with a queen size bed and an amazinly comfortable ecological memory foam matress. Last, the shower room is very high in coulour and equipped with design but ecological water distribution.
The house has got most of comfort equipements such as Apple Computer, WIFI, HIFI, Washing machine and Dishwasher. There is no television.
The garden is furnished with a table, chairs and deck chair. There is also a velum to protect from the sun in summer.
You have access to the entire house and garden. Only our personal belongings are locked in closets.
Interaction with Guests
I send regular mails ton my guests to see if everything is going alright or if they need help or anything else
The area is traditionally working class but is slowly changing to a hype and trendy village atmosphere. Slowly enough to my taste. I like it to stay very mixed and authentic
The means of transportation are numerous in the area and within lest than 5 minutes walk.

8- I shall ask for a copy of your passport and also a proof of vacation rental insurance
We had a wonderful time in this apartment. Location is great, you can walk down to the city center or Montmartre. It take some time but it is a nice walk, or you can take the metro, the station is very close.
The apartment is insulated from the street. The view is to a quiet courtyard. The atmosphere is so great, that you do not want to leave the house and we often chose to spend the evening here, and not go anywhere in search of a meal or entertainment.
Great Place. Philipe was very helpful and home was wonderful. In non-touristy area yet only two blocks from Metro and from there all of Paris awaits. We were totally satisfied or more.
Well, not sure where to start, as everything was just perfect. We stayed at Philippe's house for 8 days from 27th of Dec. till the 6th of Jan 2013. In the planning phase of our vacation this started off as a place to stay when we were going to visit Paris. Never really though that this house will become one of the highlights of our trip. This is a very tastefully designed and decorated house with very cozy atmosphere. Also Philippe was very attentive and responsive to all of our questions and suggested places to visit and eat. During our stay he checked in a couple of times to make sure that every thing was going well and if he could assist with anything else.
Besides being beautifully designed and decorated, the house is very functional. From towel warmers in the bathroom to the 'rain' shower head. From washing machine for clothes to the perfectly tucked dish washer. From light dimmers to the remote controlled shades. Everything that we could want for the stay was provided in a very classy way. From a 27" Mac with wired and wireless internet connection. Plug in AUX cable into the stereo system for the music from our iPad.
Even when we stayed in for a day to relax we had just as much of a great time as we had while we were out and about in the streets of Paris.
The grocery store was right out the door (literally) and the train station was less then 5 minutes walk. We got the 5 days pass when we got to Paris and went everywhere by just hopping on and off trains very easily.
I can say that this place is better then a 5 star hotel hotel in Paris for 1/5th the price.
I got more comments on my facebook pictures by people about this house then the places we visited in Paris lol. Everyone wanted to know how did we find this place and I told them by giving them the link to Philippe's house on airbnb.
So if you are planning a visit to Paris you will be very lucky to find this available. I would absolutely check with Philippe for availability for our next trip and then plan accordingly.
