A Home in Hamburg

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Hospitalstraße, Hamburg, Hamburg 22767, Germany

The Space

This apartment is light, spacious, and eclectic. Perfect for one or two people. A nice bedroom overlooking a garden with a king-sized bed and large living room is perfect for having friends over or a nice night in. Since I recently moved in, there is something lacking in decor still, but I think you will find it quite comfortable and at worst, a bit bare. The couch is convertible to accommodate an extra person, though the apartment is ideal for one or two.

There is a nice sized kitchen with everything you would need to cook a very good meal, and the space to do it. Sadly, no balcony, but the windows in the kitchen and livingroom overlooking a park do make it feel as if you are outside.

The bathroom is quite small, but there is a standing shower with good water pressure and always lots of hot water!

No smoking. No pets. Free, unlimited internet.

The location is in ALTONA which is near to many bus lines, and a 10 min. walk to the major Altona Bahnhof. The street itself is very quiet (though there can sometimes be noise of children playing during the day) and it's a across the street from a park (where I have blankets you can use to lay out in the sun!) as well as a cultural house called Haus Drei that holds many classes and events every day during the week. The apartment is also a 15 min. walk to all of the popular areas of town: Sternschanze, Reeperbahn, and St. Pauli.

It will be necessary for guests to do their own laundry and cleaning at the end of their stay to ensure that the next guests have clean linens and towels! Laundry detergent will be provided. You are more than welcome to bring your own sheets and towels to avoid doing laundry - but be aware the bed is VERY BIG. 200x200!!!

Other Things to Note

We LOVE our apartment, and also love sharing it with guests when we are out-of-town!

That means you'll find our favorite tea in the cupboard, onions or garlic in the veggie baskets, or other signs we live there ...because we do! You're welcome to help yourself to these things; our home is your home during your stay and we prepare it as we would for our good friends.

  • Excellent area of Hamburg. So, as soon as you arrive at the entrance of the ground floor, the first impact will be negative(too much dust on the stairs at the entrance), but after turning the key in the lock, what you see will be the paradise in comparison with the exterior of the apartment: Rebecca house is lovely, clean(very clean) and furnishing accurate. Ah, in comparison to other proposals in the city is not expensive.

  • Very nice apartment, fantastic location (20-30 minutes walk to the harbour - Landungsbrucken). I highly recommend it.

    Best wishes

  • I highly recommend this flat, had a very relaxing stay especially the bed which is amazing. Rebecca is a great host and made us feel very welcome.

  • Rebecca has a very nice and curated appartment. We have been at her's only 2 days but i recommend it. The place is very good located, you can reach cute areas in 10 minutes by foot. Everything was easy-going. She also gave us restaurant's recommendations!
We didn't meet her but everything went easy picking up the keys at her work place.
If we are again in hamburg we will ask her again for sure :-)

  • Rebecca has a very nice apartment that was a pleasure to stay in. We would recommend her place to others who want to save money on the cleaning fee.

    August 2013
  • The apartment was clean, and spacious. The shower is rather small as written in the description of the apartment, but sufficient.

Free parking was available in front of the house (or further down the street if the space is occupied). That was a big plus for us.

Email/sms contact with Rebecca was fast and correct (although one of the sms arrived at 0400 in the morning and woke me up...). We never saw Rebecca as she was not around and got the keys from the previous person staying in the apartment.

We took our own bed linen and towels in order to avoid having to to the laundry during our stay of only two days. Still a 20 euro cleaning fee was included in the rent, which is somewhat puzzling because the apartment was also just cleaned by the previous occupant before we came. However, the cleaning fee is included in the rent as written in the description, so we knew this and agreed on it!

Summarizing, a very pleasant stay, good contact with Rebecca and we would come back here if we would ever go back to Hamburg...

  • We stayed for a weekend at Rebecca´s lovely flat and it was fabulous. Everything you need and a cosy bed. To recommend.

  • I spent a few weeks in Rebecca's flat and they were really pleasant ones. Nicely situated facing a park, the flat is cosy and on a walking distances to the Altona centre, and even the Schanze and St Pauli. I am quite happy for choosing it for my stay in HH.

  • Rebeccas Appartement is nice and very, very central. It is possible to walk to almost all of the interesting areas in the city. Rebecca was not at home but we checked in without any problems.

Unfortunately there were some problems with the doing the laundry. We were told only one day before our arrival, that we had to do it and that it`s only possible in a laundrette, for which we had no time because our train left very early. Otherwise we should pay 20 Euros more. (This was told us even after our arrival.) If we had known this before, we had chosen another Airbnb-offer. So we decided to pay only the costs of the laundromat (6 Euro).
Nevertheless I have to say that Rebecca (though she was not very happy about that decision) never was unpolite. The discussion about it (via E-Mail) was very factual all the time and we also had no problems to check out so that we really enjoyed our stay in spite of that little dispute.

So I can recommend "A home in Hamburg" to everyone and hope that Rebecca will declare all the costs and conditions earlier in the future.
