A bright spacious south facing 2nd floor studio with garden aspect. Free internet. A real double bed and a single with a well equipped kitchen. Ideal for a relaxing holiday or a quiet off peak season space for catching up on written work. Only 5mins to beach with promenade and 1 minute to boulangerie. Many Art galleries, historic medieval villages, markets, supermarkets, restaurants, cycling, diving, hill and coastal hiking trails to be discovered. It's the perfect location!

The space

A clean spacious affordable and cute studio apartment that overlooks a south facing mature garden from the terrace. This terrace is also the dining area and can be enclosed to suit all weathers for all seasons.
We have a real double bed and also a sofa bed in the main room. The kitchen is enclosed in a separate room and is well equipped with microwave, hot plates, fridge, mini washing machine, tea, coffee and other condiments. Shower and toilet are also in separate rooms from each other allowing more space. Towels and linens are supplied but it is recommended that you squeeze in a beach and tea towel, there are also some books and CD's too!
Although a busy holiday resort in July /August the Low season offers a wonderful space for a quiet holiday. Although the small shops close for the winter, the best restaurants are open all year along with grocery shops and street markets because there are some full time residents and people arrive for weekends. Also the port, Argeles village and Colioure are just great!
A past Autumn guest Mike Noy said in his review "A great studio flat, a couple of hundred yards from the beach. I stayed for about a month in October, working from the flat and taking advantage of the beach and mountains for the weekends and odd couple of hours between calls etc. The internet / wireless connection was rock solid and I was able to use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) /ip phone for all my calls. I hired a mountain bike for the month ... 40 min to the start of many trails at Valmay ... 20 min to the many shops in the main village and fantastic markets on Wednesday and Saturday".
The parking area is at the front of the building but we like to use the side entrance which is beside he nearby campsite, this entrance brings you around to the back of the building which is easier for unloading the car and has never failed us with a space. There is no space allocated to my apartment but throughout the year this is no problem only maybe during July and August and even then there is parking nearby on the street. Last summer, although very busy, all our guests found a place to park without using street parking. There are no pets in the Studio but you may see the odd cat or two which belong to a full time resident.
The public transport is superb, hosting a train station and an excellent 1€ bus service on the hour till 5pm or later. Perpignan is a 30 minute bus ride with all that a city has to offer. Travel as far a Cerber, Banules or up to Ceret and many more places, all for 1€ per trip. Local car and bike hire is available nearby.
This self-contained apartment is ideal for those who want to holiday, a quiet space to write, study or use as a spring board from where you can take in all that the surrounding area has to offer. I hope you will enjoy the studio apartent and Argeles as much as we do!!

Guest access

Keys are available 24 hrs from the safety deposit box by the apartment door. Because I am not living near you can meet with my friend and house manager Manon, her contact details are available when the reservation is confirmed.

Interaction with guests

I do like to interact with people, especially those traveling from other parts of the world but at the moment I work between Espéaza, near Carcassonne and Ireland. Do visit, you are very welcome at either place if you wish. I leave my apartment in the capable hands of my friend and house manager Madam Manon Rollet who is very friendly and helpful with advise.

Other things to note

Bath towels and bed linen are provided but it is recommended that you squeeze in a beach towel.
There are two parking areas, back and front of building with many vacant spaces, however there are none allocated to my apartment. There is no problem only maybe during July and August and even then there is parking nearby on the street. Last summer, although very busy, all our guests found a place to park inside without using street parking.
A warning for people using devices. Very occasionally during heavy rainfall, the terrace above leaks into ours. Because of this it is advisable to remove your devices from the table and store inside the Studio when out for the day and at night.

I hired a mountain bike for the month ... 40 min to the start of many trails at Valmay ... 20 min to the many shops in the main village and fantastic markets on Wednesday and Saturday. The weather was pretty amazing with only two days rain and many days rivaling a summers beach day in UK ... hot enough to sunbath but you probably want to keep out of the wind. By the end of October and early November many of the restaurants have closed in the 'plage' end of the village but the supper market is open all year and there are places to get meals if you look.

Response from Stephanie:
Thank you Mike I'm happy your stay was a success and you found the all year restaurants nearby, at the port and in the village of Argeles itself. Your feedback is very beneficial while we continue to make improvements for our guests comfort.

Our stay was fine . We didn't actually meet our host or anyone else for that matter but that was OK as directions on how to get to the apartment / parking/ keys etc: we're all specific , so no problems coming or going . The apartment is a small studio overlooking the garden and within 500 metres of the beach . Shops are nearby .

Truly a lovely little apartment. Great location, in a nice complex, very close to the beach and the town itself. Stephanie is a great host and provided great information about the apartment and the area. Will recommend to all my friends.

This is a lovely little apartment, 5 minutes walk from the beach, with secure parking and everything you could need for a break on the coast in the south of France. The apartment is cosy and homely, and the bed was comfy. It's situated a few minutes walk from the nearest supermarket, bars, restaurants and a bike hire shop - though surprisingly quite as it is not near the road. Lovely place to stay - would recommend. Thank you.

Response from Stephanie:
I'm delighted that you and Mark enjoyed your holiday at my apartment. I'm only sorry that you didn't get the TV to work and because like you I also use my laptop I have no idea how to explain to guests when asked how it works. However,Manon the house manager does know and she will show guests when asked but now we will print out instructions to have by the TV for the next guests. Thank you for your informative and helpful review. Stephanie

We had a great time in Stephanies Studio in argeles-sur-mer. Her Studio is located in a perfect area which includes a short walk to the beach, a supermarket and everything else you need. The contact to Stephanie was great and we always received answeres within only a few hours. Stephanie recommended fantastic places to us that we really enjoyed to visit. Her house manager was very responsive regarding keeping contact and to pick up the keys Before we left. We can recommand staying in her Studio!

We had a great time in Stephanie's place, the studio is really nice and the perfect base to explore the local area. Everything went smoothly, from the initial booking to communicating the check-in process and checking-out. Highly recommend!

A born wanderer from Dublin I settled in Clare to raise my children and immerse myself in rural life and textiles. I’ve enjoyed some world travel and today I love to wander from France to Ireland and back again, walking hills and coastal paths gathering inspiration for my work and enjoying locally produced organic food, and a good read by the fire at night. I also very much enjoy welcoming people to both my homes and offering help or advice on places to visit, allowing you your space as I appreciate mine.
