KIRPAL MEDITATION AND ECOLOGICAL CENTER (KMEC)
Catch your breath from the hustle and bustle in the serenity of our Rollinia Cabin. Queen bed & bunk-bed furnished, it can accommodate up to 4 with an additional charge of $15 each after the first two guests. Children under 12 are free.
The shared fully equipped kitchen and two fully equipped, clean, and modern bathrooms, with a great jungle view, are about 60 feet away.
Our spacious and open ten acre property is surrounded by a buffer of Jungle and features 150+ trees with 30 or so kinds of tropical fruit. You're welcome to help yourself to the freshest fruit possible whenever they're ripe!
Swimming is half a mile away at Isaac Kepo'okalani Hale Park, one of the few safe places for swimming on this rugged, extremely scenic, coast.
A body-temperature warm-pond park is just a half mile further, as well as excellent snorkeling in the wave-protected Kapoho Tide Pools with dozens of corals, and thousands of brightly colored fish.
The nearly constant lava-flow area is just half an hour to the West of us, and perfect for a sunset, or sunrise, hike where you'll often see a cascade of red-hot lava plunging 50 or 60 feet into the ocean boiling below. Truly awesome! A peak experience for most of our guests. Please check to see if lava is flowing is flowing down into the sea as sometimes that changes.
Shopping, a natural foods market, and delicious restaurants are 10 minutes away in Pahoa Town. Several large Farmer Markets operate on the weekends too.
Our Teak Meditation Pavilion was made in Bali and is, to us, a very holy and special place for prayer and reflection. We don't preach, or otherwise "reach out"...., it's simply there if you would like some peace and tranquility - which is, as most people tell us, is our main product. :-)
The cost contained herein is all inclusive covering the required Hawaii Hotel Room Tax Hawaii General Excise Tax.
We do not charge for children under 12 years of age. Ask for a special offer if you are bringing children.

We greatly enjoyed our time at KMEC. Very cute cabin, beautiful grounds and peaceful meditation pavilion. Our son loved the bunk bed. : ) Len and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Such a beautiful area!
Beautiful, tranquil place. Great location. Lovely staff. Close to the amazing 'Red Road' which is not so red anymore but one of the most beautiful drives we've done on this trip. Would love to come back again one day and actually make use of the meditation room. Too much to see/do this time around. Mahalo!
This place is very unique and the hosts are super friendly. Strongly recommend.
Cozy cabin, beautiful garden, nice people, helpful staff. I could hear birds in the evening and in the morning.
If bathrooms and showers outside bother you, the place is not for you.
What a great place! A true Hawaiian experience. Set up on a 10 acre meditation retreat with tropical fruit growing everywhere and amazing views. 5 min down the road is the ocean break, a beach park and some crazy tied pools to snorkel and see tons of tropical fish. Just up the road in town they have a killer restaurant called Kaleo's that has live music and 5 star food, there is also a cool coffee cafe/bakery with some real good energy.
We stayed in a cool little cabin with a common kitchen and a couple common bath rooms. The kitchen is 100% vegetarian so keep that in mind. As a family of four (2 small boys) we loved it.
We enjoyed our stay very much! The cottage is very nice and it's fantastic to fall asleep surrounded by nature sounds. It's a very peaceful place in a beautiful garden and is highly recommended!
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a beautiful experience here -- romantic and restorative, and the lilikoi and coconuts were a delightful bonus! The hosts were accommodating and the facilities (outdoor kitchen/showers, cabin) were just what we were looking for.
