Located between the Paralelo (the so-called in the last century as "Barcelona Broadway") and the Montjuic area with the best gardens of Barcelona, museums as MNAC, Miro Fundation, Caixa Forum etc., the Olimpic Ring and the spectacular Magic Fountains. The neighborhood has preserved its local character and traditions. It has pretty squares and nice old buildings, and plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants patronized mostly by locals and with good food and prices.

  • I had an enjoyable 3 night's stay in Milena & Pilar's apartment. Its very well located and easy to get around. Pilar was extremely helpful in giving all details on how to reach the apartment from the airport/train station, what are the places to visit in Barcelona and how to get there, information of nice eateries nearby, etc. I always felt welcome whenever I went to talk with Pilar and I think she really enjoys her job of hosting others in Barcelona. The room was also comfortable for me and I heartily recommend this place to others who are looking for a cozy place to stay while visiting Barcelona.

  • My stay at Pilar's was great. She is a really nice and helpful lady who has hosted thousands of people. She is very organized, gave me a warm welcome and lots of info about Barcelona that was really helpful (definitely much more than the tourist information office!). The room is great: comfy bed and quite a lot of storage. There is no central heating, but a gas cylinder-heater that rotates the rooms and is quite enough. I am quite sensitive to cold and was all right, specially because of the very warm duvets in the bed. There is only one small bathroon, but I didn't have problems with the other guests. The location is great: just by a supermarket and the subway station, very convenient to go to the main attractions. There are lots of places to eat in the area, and Pilar gives you very clear directions on how to get to the apartment and other places. Also, she made us a really tasty dinner to celebrate Christmas Eve, wich was really nice of her and a plus. I highly recommend this place.

  • I very much liked staying at Milena's and Pilar's, and I can warmly recommend their home to anyone travelling in the city. Welcoming reception, clear guidance to coming and moving in the city, harmonious and clean space and well-functioning rooms, and as most importantly, very nice, sociable, helpful and warm-hearted ladies made my me feel so cozy and comfortable during my stay. For me it is a real added value to get insight into local life through discussions; Milena and Pilar gave their time to share their views and experiences, truely appreciated! Looking forward to my next stay with them :)

About
I've always been very interested in other cultures and I believe that the difference is wealth, so I encouraged to have a space in which this exchange is generated. For twenty years I devoted to studying and producing art, I am currently finishing a degree in Art History at the University of Barcelona. Previously I studied art and crafts at the Massana School and majored in contemporary jewelry. Now I´m working in a research project about Art History fron the XX century. I am passionate about cultures and in all its forms of expresion as art is. That´s why I like Barcelona: a place full of diferent cultures and a international meetingpoint.
