The nitty gritty:
Please look search for all (3) of our listings via "Andersonville Dream"
We ask that you message us FIRST before booking. We have THREE bedrooms, but we have three separate listings as that's what we have to do with airbnb. Please make sure you book under the correct listing:
"Andersonville Dream! 1 bedroom" = Just one room, can fit two people
Andersonville Dream! 2 bedrooms" = Can fit up to four people
Andersonville Dream! Whole house - upto 6 ppl" = 3 bedrooms and total home rental to yourselves
Our space: We have an amazing three bedroom flat in a wonderfully unique and beautiful home located in the heart of one of Chicago's most beloved neighborhoods. We have one room that has a queen bed and two room with full beds. The queen is in the master bedroom, which is only available when you book the whole house. We welcome single travelers, groups, families, and friends! We provide clean linens/pillows, access to large bedrooms, living/dining room, a sunroom complete with a spinnet piano, record player and cozy recliners, a sizable bathroom with your own cabinet for your things, a lovely, large front porch with rocking chairs, a picturesque backyard picnic area with a grill, and a fully updated kitchen with all the bells and whistles. Internet is available as well, but we are happily a TV free household!
Fun fact: Our home, built in 1905, once housed a speak easy in the basement. There's cabinetry to prove it - we'll show you!
About the neighborhood: We humbly believe you can't do much better. Andersonville is one of Chicago's most treasured neighborhoods, where we enjoy "village life in the big city" as lauded by the New York Times. In our little European like neighborhood, which is steeped in its Swedish heritage and valiantly committed to supporting its local businesses, you'll enjoy some of the city's best locally owned antique stores, restaurants, boutiques, bookstores and bars. If you're an antique freak, foodie, beer/wine aficionado, or green geek, this is the neighborhood for you. This green friendly area is the city's first neighborhood-managed alternative recycling program. We're a ten minute walk to Foster beach and the lakefront path and a five minute walk to the CTA red line. You also can't miss all the amazing Vietnamese treats by the Argyle train stop, and just down the street on Broadway the Green Mill, the city's first jazz club and favorite spot of Al Capone's.
Bonus: Your own personal event planner. Kristen does that stuff professionally and will help you design the best Chicago trip ever. Leave your "Not For Tourist" book behind; you've got your own guide.

I have so many good things to say about these hosts, and at the top of the list is how professional they were about my stay. Kristen was quick with responses to my questions and kept me updated on everything concerning their place. Their house in Andersonville was clean, comfortable, and in the best location. I would not hesitate to stay with them again.
Kristen & Mollie are the BEST! As soon as I arrived they made me feel welcome and comfortable. Mollie offered me a glass of wine and guacamole and chips to curb my h-angry appetite as I waited for my partner to arrive to the apartment.
They are both so warm, generous, easy going and knowledgeable about Chicago happenings. We felt right at home. They told us about all the local good eats and fun things to do in the neighborhood and city. We even met up with our hosts the next evening at Kristen's monthly party. We danced the entire night. If you get a chance check out the night Kristen's throw every month - GO. Hands down the best place to go for 90's r&b, hip hop and other nostalgic B sides.
There place was conveniently located. It was easy to take the bus and train to get around. Their place is charming and CLEAN.
I highly recommend these ladies if you want to guarantee a positive Airbnb experience. I can't say enough good about these ladies. They are the best!!!
I had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back. The room was clean and very comfortable and their home is just lovely. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to my next visit to Chicago and hopefully renting from them again!
I booked with K&M on short notice (less than 24 hours) and primarily communicated with Mollie upon arrival. Within 5 minutes of walking in the door from an exhausting trip, she had craft beer in my hand and was working on a home cooked meal for the three of us present. I couldn't ask for anything more, as this was above and beyond expectations. I was invited along to a party Kristen was throwing at a nearby bar, and had a great time soaking up the experience. All in all the total package was well worth the cost of booking. The space was a funky vibe, with plenty of room. The private room was more than adequate, with the only caveat being a lack of air conditioning in the house which could possibly lend for some sweaty days and nights if one is averse to heat. I did not find this to be a major issue on my trip, as a cracked window left enough breeze to cool the room. Your mileage may vary depending on the weather forecast. I was given a set of keys and was free to come and go when I pleased. K&M provided transportation to the bar my first night, which was a bonus. They are in summary worthy of a 5-star host rating and I would recommend staying here if the location is convenient to what you need to get to in Chicago. Andersonville was, for me, a very quiet, safe neighborhood with plenty of amenities within a short walk. I would recommend if you do choose their place to visit Hopleaf for a wide selection of beer and great food within a 2 block walk.
Kristen and Moliie are friendly and welcoming. Their charming home is in a lovely part of Andersonville, conveniently located. We thought we would be very comfortable there. However, there were things that just didn't work for us:
Room has a very bright street light shining directly in window. No shade on window. So, at night this made it difficult to sleep. Easily fixed.
Room has one window. Stuck shut, which made it stuffy and unbearably warm. Again, easily fixed.
Apartment has only one bathroom. Four people sharing - us plus the owners. A little difficult. When we heard there would be another airbnb couple staying the third night, we decided to leave. Six people in one small bathroom would not have worked. Just our opinion.
We felt welcomed into Mollie and Kristen's home - very relaxed, clean, and close to so many wonderful shops and restaurants! Loved being able to walk to places nearby.
Had a wonderful stay at Kristen and Mollie's Andersonville dream! The neighbourhood is charming and full of great things to do and the apartment itself is beautifully decorated, clean, cozy and welcoming.
I didn't meet Kristen or Mollie personally but they were very helpful through messages and were even able to accommodate me after having originally cancelled a reservation. From visiting their apartment you can tell that they are just amazing people - the literature, the photos and the vintage pieces all point to this!
I would note that the apartment is a bit of a hike from "the loop" on the metro, but close to many other interesting neighbourhoods and attractions. Would definitely recommend a stay here!
What a wonderful experience! I rate this stay highly. Kristen was very friendly and helpful. She even loaned me some clothes as I was inappropriately dressed for the Chicago winter wind :-). The apartment and neighborhood are both nice and clean.
We had a fabulous two night stay at Kristen & Mollie's and have to say that the phrase "andersonville dream" is VERY accurate. If you appreciate a clean, vintage, and retro decor with the right modern touches, then this is place for you. The location is close enough to the Berwyn red line 'el' and the 22 bus to walk comfortably, but far enough to still give you that "bed and breakfast" vibe. A tip for weekend dining at all the great Andersonville restaurants-ALWAYS call ahead to make a reservation.
The Andersonville neighborhood's charm was only surpassed by Kristen, Mollie, and their friends' warm welcome upon our arrival. Thanks for the wine (and entertainment) ladies! We look forward to seeing you again one Thursday;)
I could not more highly recommend Kristen and Mollie as hosts in Chicago. Their Andersonville apartment was comfortable and beautiful (almost too beautiful, as it set a very high bar for our own Chicago apartment search), and they way exceeded their hosting duties - providing us with great leads and connections in our apartment and job search AND letting us borrow gloves/hats to shield us from very cold temperatures. In addition, Andersonville is such a charming place to stay - convenient to the train and lots of shops and restaurants. One thing is for sure, when we're relocated to Chicago next month, we'll be buying Kristen & Mollie drinks for being such great hosts!
