Sweet, sunny studio with kitchen plus deck overlooking wooded forest. Easily sleeps 3-4 people; there is one queen bed and two twin beds (trundle). It is very private, with plenty of parking. Pet-friendly!
Winter is a great time for a visit--crab season, whale-watching, redwood magic!
Sweet, sunny studio with kitchen plus deck overlooking wooded forest. Easily sleeps 3-4 people; there is one queen bed and two twin beds (trundle). It is very private, with plenty of parking. The studio is spacious (800 sq ft), and detached, so very quiet. There is a full kitchen--great for cooking (you bring food, we supply the coffee!). The studio is on the second floor (but no one resides below, there is an unused garage), so you need to go up a flight of stairs.
You are a two minute walk from the redwoods of Jackson State Forest, and a 2 mile drive from the Mendocino Coast beaches and the gorgeous botanical gardens. Enjoy wine-tasting, surfing, kayaking, or hiking at any time of year, or check in advance to find out which of the many festivals are happening before you visit (crab, mushroom, whale, film and music festivals, local history days, paul bunyan days, etc). Well-behaved pets are ok, but should be on leash when not in the house. No smoking inside. We are about 8 minutes away from Fort Bragg, and are about 15 minutes from the village of Mendocino.
We're about a 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco or Oakland airports. Santa Rosa also has a small airport (Alaska/Horizon main carrier). We are 2.5 hours from Santa Rosa.
We are gay-friendly, tourist-friendly, family-friendly! Please let me know in advance if you have any special needs or requests to make your stay enjoyable.
Check in is 2pm, checkout is Noon, but let me know if you need a later departure or earlier arrival, and if I can accommodate you I will.
We have a 2-night minimum policy, but you are free to request single nights during the winter or on weekdays and I will generally be able to accommodate you.
One note: most cell phones work from the house, but AT&T service is less reliable. You are welcome to use the phone at my house for important calls if yours doesn't work. Update: internet is now reliable!
Another note: PLEASE print out or bring along the directions you receive after booking. If you rely on the GPS sometimes they lead you astray when you get up near my house.
Note: if you are inquiring about a stay over Thanksgiving, we require a 3-night minimum.
Please be courteous of neighbors; no loud parties. We kindly ask that you wash all your dishes upon departure since we can't always get in to clean right away. Pets not allowed on furniture. No smoking indoors.
We had a wonderful stay at a perfect apartment for a family visiting the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area. Our hike in the nearby state forest was a great start to our vacation, and the house is super well-located and equipped for cooking and comfort. We were able to easily explore nearby beaches, restaurants, museums, and redwood parks, and then come back to "home base," as my kids called it, to play games, cook meals, and rest. The airy open floor plan of the apartment was also wonderful for those times when we were hanging out indoors. Thank you Anne for such a wonderful home away from home!
This was our second time at the Tree House and this time was just as wonderful as the first! We enjoyed the peace and quiet, along with the great views of the trees from the deck. The kitchen is very well stocked, including a very nice cast iron skillet which I used for all the meals. Anne has provided a wonderful environment from which to enjoy the Mendocino area.
Anne is a perfect host, always available if you have questions. We will go back again!! Thank you Anne!
Anne was a wonderful host- available to meet our needs but not intrusive. The Treehouse studio was clean, spacious and very peaceful. Loved the close proximity to Ft Bragg and the coast. We had a great stay and will be back to visit again!
Stayed here for 4 days (2 adults and a 5-year old) at spring break and it was great - everything was as described. Roomy accommodation, well-appointed kitchen. Host was friendly and very responsive (including bringing us a blender within minutes of emailing to ask). Location was great, very convenient for Fort Bragg and Mendocino, and the neighborhood was quiet. Would definitely stay here again if we're down this way.
We had such an amazing time at the Treehouse. Anne was so hospitable. My girlfriend and I got in late and she came out to meet us with a friendly smile. She showed us around the place and helped us to feel right at home. We walked to the redwoods, from the house, and visited the several beaches. Anne was readily available and gave us direction when we were lost. Anne is a kind host and the house is beautiful!
We loved the treehouse! Anne made it super easy to arrive (the directions sound complicated but are easy to follow as you're driving) and check in by ourselves. It was a perfect place to stay - plenty of space, had everything we needed (love staying somewhere with a coffee pot & coffee!), and super peaceful. It was a great home base as we headed up north to see Avenue of the Giants & the redwoods.
First off, this was the perfect getaway. Being surrounded by redwoods, how quiet it was, and of course I owe all this relaxation to our host, Anne. Very close to everything without being too close. The place was even better than the listing made it seem! This was my first time using Airbnb and so I wasn't sure what to expect. Anne made everything so easy and was a great host. Everything was clean, the bed comfortable, lots of space, loved the bathroom, kitchen was perfect for cooking, and I can not wait to book my next trip to Ann's Treehouse. Thank you to Anne and her Airbnb for helping me de-stress my overworked girlfriend, we both needed this. Hope to see you soon!

I love to travel and love to meet travelers! I moved to this beautiful area from San Francisco about 6 years ago and really enjoy sharing it with guests at the Tree House. Since I don't get to travel as often as I would like, I live vicariously through the stories of the travelers passing through, and have many a good gab on the deck of the Tree House. I hope to meet you soon (or again!).
