This is the SoBro Guest House Located in the South Bronx aka SoBro, New York, a hustling & bustling trendy and hip neighborhood. Just search SoBro Bronx, NY and you will see what the area has to offer. We are walking distance (1 Block) to the Antique District which boasts an assortment of Cafes, Lounges, Bars, Art Galleries and Antique shops. Alexander's Bar on Alexander Ave, The Piano Factory, Bruckner Bar and Grill, DJ EMBE just to name a few. You can walk to Manhattan over the Willis Ave Bridge which is located on the corner. Or jump on the # 6 Train and you are only one stop away from the City of NY! The # 6 train is located approximately 4 blocks away or a 5 minute walk. Yankee Stadium is about a half hour walk or 10 minute train ride. And if you don't feel like going to NYC you have lots of shopping right here in the neighborhood. The Guest House is easily accessible from JFK, Newark, and La Guardia Airports via the Metro so you do not have to waste money on taking a taxi.
We would advise that only the adventurous and more open minded stay here. This is not the Marriot or a central park west local, although we are very close. The neighborhood is considered very safe. It is jumping and unbelievably vibrant and once you step outside the Guest House you will be living amongst real New Yorker's... not tourists. This may be enticing to some but scary to others... so take it for what its worth. Highly recommend if you are looking for a true New York experience! Dont take our word for it... Just read the reviews and see for yourself!
The building itself is very safe and secure. Ray lives on premise and can deal with any issues should they arise. The room is private with your own lock and key. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided. Share 2 full baths and basic cooking facilities with the other guests. We have long term international students and tourists staying with us from all over the world. The room has a full size bed and is located on the 3rd Floor of a renovated Mott Haven Brownstone. There is a mini-fridge and 32" Plasma TV located inside the room. But your in New York... how much time do you plan to spend inside??
***Free WiFi is included***
***International Students and tourists looking for long term stays of 30 days or longer are welcome to stay with us.***

Very clean, nice, well equipped and managed place. A few blocks away from the subway. I reccommend.
Ray was kind and gratefull. Everything was really cleaned and in good state, so bedroom, restrooms, kitchened, showers, ..... and clean towels.
Kitchened in very good state and available for cook when you wish ... but you must bring your meat!!
Wiffi, Air conditioned and TV, OK!!
Very well connected with Manhattan with L6 Metro. Making a transfer in 125th st from L6 to L4-5 (express lines), in 15 minutes you can be to the Center of the city.
Unfortunelly, my bedroom was opposite to the main street and the window was not well isolated. If you don't support the exterior noisy, is recomendable to ask for an interior bedroom, but if you get asleep easy, ..... , nevermind!!
Recommended!! If I come back to NYC, I'll come SoBro....
Great service and owners ! Very great !!
South Bronx Guest House offers clean, comfortable accomodations at a great value. Ray is there to greet you and does an excellent job running and maintaining the house. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to my next stay.
It was really good, I apresiate that they had let me live there, clean and cheap, I recommend to much the place
This is the second time I've stayed here. The place is clean, reasonably priced, and within fairly quick walking distance to the 6. Overall, I've very happy with it. This time my room faced the freeway, which was quite loud, but that's also part of NYC.
Très bon séjour. La chambre est un peu petite mais très propre. il suffirait d'y ajouter 1 ou 2 fauteuils pour profiter au mieux de cette pièce. Quartier tranquille, accès rapide et facile au centre de Manhattan.
Basic, but clean room in a nice guest house not too far away from midtown Manhattan. The subway station is pretty close, so you´ll be at Grand Central Station in about 20 minutes.
Our room to the street was pretty noisy, but the view of the skyline with the Empire State Building was worth it. I suggest taking ear plugs with you if you have a light sleep.
The guest house itself is not exactly in what you would call "the best" neighborhood but we never felt unsafe during our stay. Lots of cheap Delis, Pizza joints and other places to eat are within walking distance.
For those on a tight budget, who are looking for a place still pretty close to the hotspots of the Big Apple, I´d recommend this place.
My boyfriend and I had a great stay at SoBro! Super clean, lots of room, quiet... Just what we were looking for! Ray is there if you ever need anything, which is great. I would definitely recommend this place!
Thanks so much guys!
My friend and I stayed there from September 18 to September 22. I would definitely stay there again. It's really close to the subway station (the 6 train will get you anywhere in New York). The room was clean the bathrooms were nice. It even had an AC in the room. We used the wifi to look up different places to visit in New York. When we got there Ray oriented us with the area and my friend who brought her car was able to find free parking on the street even though it can be a bit hard. The area isn't the nicest but if you mind your business and have a buddy to walk with you at night I think you will be fine. It was a really good deal for the price and I could even see the New York skyline from my window. My friend and I didn't stay in the room much so it was perfect for us. There were other guests that stayed in the other rooms as well and everyone was respectful and nice. If you are looking for somewhere to stay when you visit and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a place to lay your head I would recommend staying here.
