About this listing
A floor in our charming Harlem townhouse apartment, restored to its former glory, in historic Hamilton Hieghts. Totally private with own entrance, bathroom and kitchen. Free Wifi is available. One full size bed that sleeps two, second bed available upon requests (twin size)
Here are three things people love about our place.
1) A separate entrance to the space : privacy
2) comfortable space: cozy fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, and garden.
3) Convenient location: located near express and local trains that can take you to all the major sites in the blink of an eye.
Here are three things people don't like about our place.
1) Tricky entrance. Because this is a historic brownstone, the stairway to the space is a little tight.
2) Our taller guests have told us that the bathroom ceiling is a little low. Again, historic brownstone.
3) The space is small, but perfect for a couple sight seeing and exploring New York City.
Come stay in our cozy studio apartment with private access to our garden, for a little greenery in the bustling city. You won't even realize you're staying in the city when chirping birds greet you in the morning. For summer nights, or chilly winter days, relax by our lovely fireplace. No need to chop wood, it's controlled by a remote control!
Great location two stops away from Midtown and Central Park. All of Manhattan is easily within your reach, including Convenient food shopping and great local restaurants nearby.
We invite you to stay and experince old New York.
We are new to Airbnb but have lots of references from my guests who have stayed with us over the pas two years.
Stayed here July (phone number hidden), we were greeted and given a quick description of the area and the different restaurants and coffee shops which was very appreciated. The apartment is very cute, small but it worked for us. However...this is not the best bath for tall people. We had to sit in tub to shower with hand held shower head, I could not stand up in tub without touching the ceiling. Having said that, it took no time at all to get used to it, and it just added some more adventure to our trip. The subway is just a short walk away, and you are in Grand Central Station in about 15 minutes. The subway system is amazing, it was all we used, we even took it to JFK On the way home.
The area was very nice, felt safe all the time. The private garden was great. We would come back should we find ourselves in NY again. Thanks
We really enjoyed our stay! Maria was great at welcoming us and helping us acquainted with the area. We loved the Chipped Cup and went there every morning. We really liked Harlem Public. The city walk cards that were provided in the apartment were super helpful! The only issue we had was the low ceiling in the bathroom. My husband is 6'1" and had a tough time.
We had a wonderful time in Federico's apartment. Everything was exactly as described and shown in the photos. Federico made us feel very welcome and provided us with some tips about where to eat and get the best coffee.
We will surely return if we ever travel to New York again!
Dobrá poloha blízko frekventované stanice metra, příjemní hostitelé a celkově moc příjemná zkušenost. Doporučujeme pro 2 osoby.
Federico was such a welcoming host! Upon my arrival, he took me on a tour of the neighborhood, not just the property itself. He pointed out The Chipped Cup coffee shop, which I then visited every day thereafter during my stay, as well as a noodle place that I never got to enjoy. He shared some interesting background on the neighborhood, pointed me in the direction of public transportation and was all-around helpful. I also borrowed the subway and bus maps that were left for guest use during my stay, making my way around NYC much more helpful. The property is just as it appears in the photo...adorable! Federico also shared the guest Wifi password, which was very helpful so I could work from "home." I don't recall if it had been shared previously but through the white door, pictured there is private access to a sweet little garden. There are so many little architectural flourishes--it was a delight to stay here, and the price is amazing for NYC (and the property itself). Comfy bed! I also loved the bathtub. There's a European-style shower head for those looking for the shower experience, but it was a total treat for me to take a bath each night. Quiet location too. I normally sleep with ear plugs to block out city noise and didn't need to here. Enjoy!
Federico was great welcoming my daughter and I to his home and the neighborhood, the apt was jut " perfect" very Newyorker stylist, he pointed the all the cool places. We were pleased.

About the Host, Federico
I was born in the Dominican Republic and went to school in Madrid Spain. I love living in diverse multiethnic New York and I enjoy the variety of foods, people and cultures. I especially enjoy my neighborhood because of the friendly nature of everyone on my block. One of the hidden treats that my neighborhood has to offer is the Hispanic Society of America Museum, which is on par with the Metropolitian in its collection of art from Spain. It has paintings by many Spanish masters as well scuplture from every age of Spain's history. It is just three blocks from my home I can see a Velasquez or Goya anytime I want. It is treasure of Spanish art.
We believe in welcoming our guests, and enjoying the diverse people and cultures that these encounters bring. I find that learning about other places and cultures is interesting. All humans share a common decency, respect and love for one another. This coming together of people from all over the world is the essence of New York, unquestionably a very wonderful place right now, of which I am lucky to enjoy.
