Interaction with Guests
I live in another part of the house and am here to answer your questions, orient you to the neighborhood, the city and the bay area. But if you want total privacy, it's yours.
Bernal Heights has a walkability score of 86, meaning it's a very good place for those without cars. In less than two blocks, there's an all-day cafe at the corner of a park with casual full meal service; an organic grocery store; and an excellent restaurant. You can walk to the Valencia corridor, the Mission District, and on into the rest of the city or to the top of our hill in less than 10 minutes. The neighborhood is ethnically diverse, politically progressive and full of family life. It combines urban living and peaceful green space.
The closest bus stop is 1 1/2 short blocks from our house. It will link you to every bus in the city, to BART (the Bay Area Rapid Transit), the ferries and Cal-Train -to the rest of California. BART takes you directly to and from the airport. To use public transit, the best plan is to buy a Clipper card at a BART station. You can add money to it via a credit card or cash.
You can also use the bikes; and walking is easy to most places because we are in the flat area of the city.
And for back-up, you can take a taxi. I recommend Yellow Cab, online 24 hrs a day or ph(phone number hidden)
You are welcome to enjoy the yard and to eat any vegetables or fruits you would like.
If you borrow a bike, be sure to lock it always, even if you leave it for just a minute. I have two bikes: each would cost about $150 to replace...
Please do not smoke anywhere in or close to the house.
We have quiet hours from 11 P.M. to 8 A.M.
If you use the kitchen, please do clean up afterwards.
When you leave, please bring your trash to the trash cans under the back porch.
Enjoy yourselves and ask if you have any questions about anything.
The apartment was lovely, had everything you needed as a base in a really cool city as well as a great place to chill out and recharge in amongst adventures and exploring.
The neighbourhood was a really great place to be based it is a very interesting and diverse area, with easy access to downtown and all the main areas of the city.
The host- Nancy was everything you would hope a host would be; super friendly; so helpful; but completely unintrusive. Nancy has put together a great pack of information which is in the apartment and tells you all you need to know to start exploring.
From Our experience we would say come to San Francisco and stay here at Nancy's place.
Nancy made us feel very welcome in her lovely self-contained apartment. The accommodation was as described with beautiful views out over the city. The house is in a great neighbourhood with easy access via public transport to the sites of San Francisco. Nancy was very helpful with tips of where to eat etc and was very responsive to all our communications. We had a wonderful 5 nights and would highly recommend this airbnb.
Nancy is a really special woman, she is very kindly, respectful and helpfully.
She always was available for me and my wife, the studio looks exactly as the pictures, and also has everything that you need, we was for in a long stay and everything was gorgeous the place is just two blocks (really shorts) to the transportation to the downtown, the neighborhood is very safe and residential, there is a park just at two blocks of the house, with a nice restaurant called Precita cafe.
Best place to stay in San Francisco, we felt like home.
By the way everything was very clean, you don't need to go anywhere for the laundry, the view of the studio is really nice and also Nancy has a beautiful garden, with a lot of organics vegetables and fruits.
100% best place.
Splendid trip in a wonderful city. The appartment was nice, with a great view on the city. Unfortunatly, the wifi connection was always on and OFF. Skype or Facetime calls were then frustrating. Nancy is a very discret and a very present hostess as well: always there when needed, with accurate answers. Our recommandation is greatly positive.
Nancy's place is beautiful and really well kept! The view is spectacular. She left a very helpful folder of information about the area and Clipper public transit cards for our use. She was very responsive and communicative about our travel plans and making sure we had everything we needed.
Make sure to have brunch at Precita Park Cafe while you're staying here!
From the very beginning, Nancy was great with communication and extremely organized. She provided us with a very well-detailed description of the apartment utilities as well as neighboring attractions. We were able to speak with Nancy in person, and she was just as friendly and helpful as the other reviewers have said. The apartment looks exactly like the pictures - very neat and comfortable. It is located in a very safe neighborhood with extremely easy access to the downtown area, popular tourist attractions, and parks for scenic hikes. If we ever return to San Francisco, we hope to be able to stay in Nancy's apartment again! Thank you so much for everything!
