I have a double sofa bed available in my large living room in my East London Flat. The room has a TV and stereo, and guests will have private use of the room. Bed linen and towels are provided. There is Wifi. The sofa bed can accommodate a single guest or a couple.
Spacious, peaceful, tastefully and artistically decorated, one-bedroom flat on top two floors of lovely Victorian townhouse overlooking Victoria Park in East London. The flat is full of light, has great views both back and front, and has a calm atmosphere.
Large modern kitchen. Large bathroom with shower and bath.
Washing machine, TV, wi-fi internet and stereo.
Right in the middle of east London but it's not too gritty and feels v gentrified; I live opposite Victoria Park, so the neighbourhood feels safe, quiet and family-friendly but you are in the midst of all the cool hang-outs. 15 mins walk from Bethnal Green tube. 15 mins walk from Mile End tube. 20 min walk along canal to fashionable Broadway Market. 5 min walk to Victoria Park village with its chic independent shops, nice restaurants and bars. 10 min bus ride to the cool bars, shops and restaurants of Brick Lane and Spitalfields and Old Street. 15 min tube ride to Oxford Street and central London.
£40 per night for single occupancy. Extra £10 for the second guest.
Guests will have access to the kitchen and bathroom.
I interact as much or as little as guests want to interact. I will generally be present during guests' stay but I'm often out at work or out in the evening. Am happy to chat if you want to, or if you want to do your own thing, that's fine. I'm always available for advice about the local area, transport links or whatever.
This is one of the most lively and coolest neighbourhoods in London - it's bursting with creativity and interesting (and often cheap) things to do. It's also really pretty and green with Victoria Park, Mile End Park and nearby London Fields.
Guests should definitely visit Broadway Market on a Saturday and also Brick Lane.
Bethnal Green and Mile End tubes are 10/15 mins walk away, and central London is about 15 mins from Bethnal Green tube. There are loads of buses. I can advise on getting around - easier to explain in person than on this website.
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had to cancel the above reservation because my regular lodger wanted to
stay during this time and as he pays me a retainer I couldn't refuse him.
He had originally told me he wasn't going to be staying at this time and
then he suddenly announced he was. As it was 10 days before the reservation
was due to start I reckoned Monica would be able to find somewhere else
fairly easily and she did. I would not cancel a reservation last minute
I left the best impression of the communicating with Rowena and Martin. I spent 5 glorious days and very grateful for the warm welcome. I was impressed clearning and spacious room with the wonderful view over Victoria Park. I highly recommend this place, which is very suitable located.
A very cosy place to stay ! I spent 4 nights by Rowena and Martin but it was too short. The proximity of Victoria Park with it's "Pavillon" just in front of the house is really incredible. a lot of things to visit just near this place .and good connections to the city center. Thanks Rowena and Martin, i'll come back!
the house is really pretty and located in a nice area,my parents slept there and they told me that it was really nice and clean!!!i would like to add that rowena has been really nice with me,
Rowena and Martin were extremely welcoming on our very quick stop over in London. Rowena scored extra points with us from the beginning taking our last minute booking and being so flexible with our check in/check out to accommodate our flight times. My girlfriend and I were both so very grateful for having her flat to rest up at the start of our holiday. The bed was so comfortable and Rowena even turned on the heating for us fair-weathered Californians even though it was unseasonable warm in London during our stay. Victoria park is an excellent area and felt like its own little town outside of the busy city center. It had all we needed and more. Definitely hit Broadway Market early in the day and take a walk along the canal. We ended up taking a taxi with our heavy bags to the Eurostar which was well worth the 15 pounds!
Rowena&Martin, made us feeling like at home. The huge room was so warm and cozy that we did not want to leave it!
It was my first experience with airbnb and highly recommended as Rowena advised us new tourist routes, exotic restaurants, the best bagel shop ;) in London...etc
Sure we will come back!
Hi, Rowena was lovely and a most caring and considerate hostess. Would love to go back. The room is really amazing, and the location is perfect. Victoria park.. Broadway market :) thank you
