Enjoy the tranquility of being surrounded by nature in our chic floating home located in SW Washington State!

The Welcome Slough Floating Home, on Puget Island in the Columbia River, is just 90 mins from Portland, OR. Our home offers you a chance to be immersed in nature while enjoying all the comforts of modern amenities!

Catch fish right off our dock. Watch bald eagles soar by. Make use of our kayak in the summer months. And maybe even catch a river otter enjoying some clams on the deck!

The space
Our 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom floating home can sleep up to 8 people, between the king sized bed in the primary bedroom (downstairs/main level), the 4 single beds in the loft bedroom (upstairs) and the pull out queen-sized sofa in the family room. There is one full bathroom (downstairs/main level) with a shower. A fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and office nook complete the space!

We also have a dock and boat house that guests are welcome to use with their own watercraft. In the summer months, guests can use our kayak and SUP/paddle board! There is plenty of parking space on our lot by the garage for RV parking too!

Watch birds fishing just feet from our windows. Snuggle up with a movie from our streaming service or play a board game with friends after a day out exploring!

Where you’ll be

Cathlamet, Washington, United States

90 mins outside Portland, OR, our home is located on Puget Island, which is in the Columbia River, between OR and WA. We’re 30 mins from Longview, just straight down Ocean Beach Highway (Highway 4). Cathlamet, WA is the nearest town (3 mi away) and you'll pass through it to get to Puget Island via a bridge (unless you take the ferry from Westport, OR). Cathlamet has a small grocery store, a couple fantastic restaurants, and a brewery! The island itself is quite rural and has many farms, flower growers, and even a creamery selling fresh eggs and artisan cheeses.

Drive slowly on the island as there are many deer and often some rogue chickens in the road! There is a ferry that goes from Puget Island to OR every hour and once on the OR side you're just 30 mi from Astoria. The island is home to a large population of white tail deer and many, many more animals from bald eagles to river otters!

Nearby activities include hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing, bird watching, fishing, crabbing, boating and water sports (summer time), and more!

Hi! I’m Kahli. I currently live in Las Vegas but own a vacation getaway in SW Washington state. Our floating home on Puget Island is special to me, as my great great grandparents were among the first settlers on the island! My grandparents and mother grew up on Puget Island and I’m so happy to be able to go back and visit as well as share it with others. There’s a certain peacefulness that the area exudes.
