About This Listing
International couple has a quiet home next to a nature preserve, hiking trails, tennis courts and swimming pools.
Kitchen and dining area with views of the nature preserve through the window. The laundry room is behind you.
The hosts are a very friendly international couple. We are very active and love traveling, exploring new places and meeting new people. We used to own a hostel in Montenegro and absolutely love hosting travelers from around the globe. We always make sure our guests have a good stay with us whether this means sharing a meal, chatting, or simply relaxing. Make yourself at home both in your room and in the rest of the house. We want to get to know you, at least a little bit.
We have an extra bedroom with a double bed in our three bedroom / two bathroom condo and would love to offer it to someone traveling through the Bay Area, short or long-term. Our place is located on the hills of San Carlos next to a beautiful nature preserve. Two hiking areas filled with deer and hare are within 5 minutes walk. It's a very quiet and safe area with plenty of off-street parking, several swimming pools, and two tennis courts for your use. Conveniently situated 3 minutes drive to I - 280, it's a 25 minute drive to San Francisco, San Jose, or the ocean. We are just 5 minutes away from San Carlos Airport, Sequoia Hospital, and three exits away Stanford University and Palo Alto. San Carlos offers a many great restaurants, wine bars and pubs.
Our place is clean and spacious. Our guests are welcome to use the living room, kitchen and patio to cook dinner, watch a movie in 3D or simply kick back and hang out with a book / glass of wine / etc. The guest bathroom is located next to the bedroom and is shared with one person.
Cable + Netflix
Kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer
Patio with a view of the nature preserve
Everything except our bedroom.
Interaction with Guests
As much as you like but we wouldn't like guests who sequester themselves in their room all the time.
Quiet neighborhood amongst the trees with many hiking trails.
Caltrain is a 10 minute drive or 45 minute walk. You'd want a car as there's very little public transport other than Caltrain. Very quick access to 280.
No smoking on the property, clean up after yourself, and enjoy your stay.
Nadya and Dave's place is very clean and cozy. Everything was as advertised, including a wonderful view of California oaks and other trees. The bed is very comfortable, and I even got help with my luggage! Highly recommended.
Had a great time with you Nadya! Really enjoyed my stay. Her apartment is nestled in the hills of San Carlos, with a great view. Parking close to the apartment can be a bit limited depending on what time you get back, but there's plenty of street parking. She was also accomodating to let me stay an extra day due to some scheduling issues on my side. Recommend!
Nadya and Dave were totally great! They were welcoming and totally social from the start but allowed my own space while i organized myself the first night. The room looks exactly like the picture, has a closet if you are into that and has enough room to situate comfortably for 2 people. They were very welcoming, offering coffee, tea and any amenities you might need on your travel. Both are very busy people, as was i that week, so none of us spent a lot of time at the house but it was great to chat it up for a while at the end of the day. No complaints on my end, if i am back in the area will definitely try a repeat stay!
Nadya and Dave were great hosts. Very nice people, very nice, clean room. Yumi, the other roommate was also really nice. I'd be happy to come back here.

About the Host, Nadya
I am a native Russian speaker. I moved to California where I'm currently living in the Bay Area with my partner David. Before that we spent two years in London where I was an graduate student at Birkbeck College, University of London.
I am a friendly and sociable person. I love to travel, visit new places and meet new people. Since 2004 David and I lived in several countries including England, Russia and Montenegro where we started Hippo Hostel and ran it for three years. Therefore, I am well familiar with the grassroots hospitality sector and have a great appreciation for the people who are willing to host and share their world with others.
