The hosts are a very friendly international couple. We are very active and love traveling, exploring new places and meeting new people. We used to own a hostel in Montenegro and absolutely love hosting travelers from around the globe. We always make sure our guests have a good stay with us whether this means sharing a meal, chatting, or simply relaxing alone. Make yourself at home both in your room and in the rest of the house.
We have an extra bedroom with a double bed in our three bedroom / two bathroom condo and would love to offer it to someone traveling through the Bay Area, short or long-term. Our place is located on the hills of San Carlos next to a beautiful nature preserve. Two hiking areas filled with deer and hare are within 5 minutes walk. It's a very quiet and safe area with plenty of off-street parking, several swimming pools, and two tennis courts for your use. Conveniently situated 3 minutes drive to I - 280, it's a 25 minute drive to San Francisco, San Jose, or the ocean. We are just 5 minutes away from San Carlos Airport, Sequoia Hospital, and three exits away Stanford University and Palo Alto. San Carlos offers a many great restaurants, wine bars and pubs.
Our place is clean and spacious. Our guests are welcome to use the living room, kitchen and patio to cook dinner, watch a movie in 3D or simply kick back and hang out with a book / glass of wine / etc. The guest bathroom is located next to the bedroom and is sometimes shared when we have another airbnb-er.
Cable + Netflix
Kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer
Patio with a view of the nature preserve
Everything except our bedroom.
Whatever you like.
Quiet neighborhood amongst the trees with many hiking trails.
Caltrain is a 10 minute drive or 45 minute walk. You'd want a car. Quick access to 280.
I stayed here while I was looking for a permanent place in SF and it was perfect! Nadya and Dave were great hosts - I felt right at home at their place. They live in the hills and the apartment has a wonderful view out the back. They were always in quick communication, so when my plans to arrive changed, it was no problem. They were easy to chat with, but just as easily gave you your own space, so it seems like to you can make the interaction exactly what you want.
My first time using Airb&b, so I was not quite sure what to expect. Nadya and Dave were great hosts, tour coordinator, and now great friends. They have a wonderful deck that faces a beautiful view that you can enjoy with your coffee. If you are looking for more than a bed to sleep in, this is a great pick!
Hmm. They wrote a review on me how exhausting the guest was, essentially, because I asked for heat. I sent one text from the one night I spent in the room, inquiring about heater.
Did it feel like a cold dungeon? It was on bottom floor, one level beneath the parking lot. It had nice furniture. My suggestion is that a heater be placed there to respect both host and guest's ideals for comfort.
Everyone is good people, you know. It's just learning experiences. Nice nature area. Life is symbolic, the heat of heart, expands to manifest heaters.
Wonderful AB'nB experience! Many thanks to Nadya and Dave: totally responsive, kind, offering a really nice space! Perfect hosts. The bed was just right for this traveling bear. And the neighborhood is really nice - like a little bit of Marin County perched above Redwood City. R.C. itself is just a 5 minute drive down the hill to great restaurants; probably the best movie theater in the Peninsula, and the charm of the downtown area and Museum building. A nice place to stroll under the lights after dark!
This Airbnb experience was in the fine category. Of all my Airbnb experiences this was definitely sparse. If you are looking for a pretty location, it was definitely in a beautiful part of the San Bruno hills. But the accommodations themselves were, well, sparse.
Great place with awesome hosts!!! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Great hosts. The room was exactly what I was looking for, comfortable, clean and quiet. The location has easy access to 280. I would definitely recommend their home and will hopefully be back soon myself.
Nadya and Dave are very friendly and hospitable. I arrived when they had to friends over, and they immediately poured me a glass of wine and invited me to join them.
I stayed here for about a month and enjoyed my time. The room was nice and clean when I came in, and the living room, the bathroom, and the kitchen were always maintained spic-and-span. The neighborhood is hilly and is beautiful and peaceful (though you need to drive quite a bit for groceries/dining). I enjoyed driving/walking around the place, and was pleasantly surprised to see deers crossing the roads nearby.
Nadya and Dave were very friendly and extremely outgoing. Many of their good friends would pop in every now and then (don't worry, not all the time), to fill the place with lively conversation and good food. You can always join these guys, but it was a shame I had too much on my plate (job search and what not!). Otherwise, I am sure it would have been much more fun (just to make it clear --- it was never noisy).
Now, one drawback with the place is that the cell reception in the room was not very good. You would have to be close to window otherwise calls would get dropped (I had AT&T). And there is no real table and no space for one, so that could be something to keep in mind.
Having said all these, I would definitely recommend this place, especially for short stays.
Exactly what I needed. Very clean, great people and in a quiet neighborhood. I'll be back
