We arrived in Huaraz and were welcomed at the bus station by Miluska's brother, Lincoln. He was a very friendly and made sure we arrived at the apartment easily. He also provided us with information about the nearest bakeries, supermarkets, and local sights. The apartment is comfortable and has all the amenities needed for making small meals, and sleeps up to 5 people. The front door is tough to open, and required practice to figure out how to properly position the key in the lock to get the door open. I feel this is something that should be repaired for future guests.
Miluska's apartment was really fantastic. The apartment is as described. It is located in a very central part of town, within walking distance ( a few blocks) to the central plaza and numerous restaurants. The apartment was particularly convenient and well priced for us because we brought our sons who stayed in their own room and had space to run around. The apartment was priced much less than large private rooms at the nearby hotels and guesthouses. The apartment is basic, but very clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It also seems very safe, in a good part of town, 2 locking front doors to enter, and a locking closet. There are stairs on the balconey which leads to the roof, which has amazing views of the city and Cordilliera Blanca. Miluska's cousin Lincoln greeted us when we arrived. He made sure everything was just right, and he gave us his phone number in case there were problems. He also speaks very good English. Miluska is currently not living in Huaraz, but she was very helpful and prompt with her email communications. We would certainly enjoy staying here again.
No place is perfect. Huaraz is not a quiet city. Taxis like to honk, and there are a lot of taxis driving by. The apartment is on a fairly major street, so street noise is heard, but not really a problem for us.
