The 'Kollwitzkiez' is one of the hippest districts Berlin has to offer. The streets in our neighborhood have the charm of Parisian boulevards and encompass a wide range of trendy bistros, bars, cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores. There are also other mod cons - pharmacy, bank, coffee shops, ATMs, post office, boutique stores, live music, cinemas etc - - all within easy walking distance (no more than 15 mins). Anything else you desire should be with a 20 minute radius if you take public transport.
Tram M2: 1 minute walk
Subway U2: 5 minutes walk
Both will get you to Alexanderplatz in 5 minutes. Alexanderplatz is the closest hub and from here you have the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, Metro (tram) and Bus network to get you to where ever you wish to go.

Lucas and Claudia are great hosts, very helpful and responsive.
They gave us very useful tips and the house is very well organised and managed.
The area is great, I actually loved it, quite and peaceful with a number of nice restaurants and pubs just around the corner.
I would sincerely recommend this place and especially the 'Maritime Room' with those big windows facing the tree-lined road :)
The neighborhood is very trendy and the residential streets look almost Parisian. There are great cafes and beer gardens to check out. The tram and metro are conveniently located at either end of the street.
The apartment is very clean and bright throughout. We checked in late at night but the host was still helpful and showed us around. The host lives in another apartment in the building and the housekeeper is usually here in the morning. Bring some Euro cash to pay for the tax, and beware of the other extra fees. Coffee costs 50cents so have coins for that. The shared shoes rack, kitchen, and bathroom shelves had clearly marked spaces for each guest room. We didn't realize how many guests check in and out each day during our four-night stay. We almost never see the same guests after a day. We often had to wait to use the only bathroom and the kitchen, which is next to our bedroom, is filled with other guests in the morning. Overall, it was still a good place at a great value.
It was a nice, clean room. The host provided good and clear instructions to finding the place. The location was wonderful with nice eateries around and a supermarket nearby. Highly recommended.
The neighborhood was really nice and it was close to Alexander Platz! The apartment was comfortable and clean. The only problem was that there was only one shower for six people. We felt like we probably should have made a shower schedule with the other guests.
