The Space

Escape TV and life's intrusions and surrender to the privacy in this sunny garden studio which comfortably accommodates 2. It is your “home away from home" and offers needed respite after a magical day in “the city by the Bay" where you can add your heart to the millions that have been “left in San Francisco".

Your east facing room has a sliding glass door out to your private garden patio overlooking a serene and beautiful garden. Outdoor seating includes a garden swing and is the perfect place to eat and/or drink an award winning California made wine or beer.

Quality coffee and tea will be waiting for you in your kitchenette. After shopping at a local market, you can “eat in" at your breakfast bar, or “eat out" on your patio table with umbrella shade.

This centrally located village is just 25 miles from San Francisco in the greater East Bay Area and offers a good variety of restaurants, shops, a movie theater, bowling & miniature golf. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is just 1.5 miles away. A 30 minute ride on BART will have you walking along the Embarcadero in SF en route to the Ferry Building Market Place, SOMA, Little Italy, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square and much more!

The Oakland International Airport is only 3 BART stops from Castro Valley.

If you enjoy wine tasting, you'll be just a short drive to the Livermore Valley wineries which date back to the late 1800's. Many of these wineries have garnered a multitude of prestigious awards.

If you decide to take a "day off", you can lounge in the garden under the tall California cedar trees or take a hike in several neighboring East Bay Regional Parks or paddle a kayak on nearby Lake Chabot.

Guest Access

Your private studio is equipped with high speed wireless internet (18Mbps), a DVD player (NO TV ~ enjoy the break!). Berkeley and Palo Alto are within easy reach if you want to visit the world renowned UC Berkeley and/or Stanford campuses. Both universities as well as Silicon Valley and the South Bay (San Jose) can be accessed by car.
