My work: Retired Idaho Educator of 33 years, Licensed Idaho White Water Guide
Speaks English
Bob graduated twice from the College Idaho with B.S. Biology and Master Degree in School Administration. He is now retired Idaho Science Teacher. He spent 33 years teaching, Biology, Environmental Science, photography, and yearbook. In addition he was involved with other Student projects like F.I.R.E. (Field Inquiry Research Experience)Up for Summer. His passion with education was always trying to help students go further-faster. What Bob and Marcia to the Salmon River and the Sawtooths? Bob was asked to be a lead boatman on the day trip stretch of the upper Main Salmon River. That started in 1976. He has been a licensed Idaho white water guide since with Guide and Lead Guide status on the upper Main, Middle Fork of the Salmon, and Main Salmon River. Still licensed most of his white water trips are as a guest guide or with private float trips. The summer of 2014 he was able to take his Grandson down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River and Hell's Canyon. The Beckwith Lodge has been a family project from the start. Bob and Marcia used their summers to guide and help with river trips. The Lodge land was purchased in 1979. That was the year the logs were cut, peeled, and stacked on the Lodge property. Our first child was born that summer. The logs sat until summer of 1983 when family and friends worked together to get them stacked up and shaped into the Lodge; The year our second child turned one. The lodge has evolved over the years. Porches have been added. Some remodeling inside and the woodshed just added in 2014. We are not done yet, so improvements will continue to be made on the lodge. The Lodge has been designed for celebrations of all kinds. There is plenty of space for folks to spread out and enjoy their stay. We look forward to having you stay with us. Our family, our guests are the Lodge’s history.
