Located in the center of Manuel Antonio, you have the best of both worlds, jungle with a view of the Pacific plus great facilities and restaurants. Our spacious one bedroom has a great balcony to chill on and watch the wildlife from your hammock.
Located at Villas El Parque in the heart of Manuel Antonio, this one bedroom self catering condo is ideal for two guests.
Wake up in the morning and have your coffee overlooking the Pacific and enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle. Centrally located close to The National Park and the beaches. You will often see Squirrel, Capuchin and Howler monkeys, a wide array of tropical birds and if you're lucky a sloth or two.
The condo is arranged with a full kitchen opening onto the dining area, the bedroom has a Queen sized bed and the balcony has a million dollar view of the Pacific and Manuel Antonio National Park.
Villas El Parque is a short walk from a great selection of restaurants, bars and convenience stores and since you're on holiday they will deliver to you. If the mood takes you.
There are excellent bus and taxis services which will take you in one direction to the National Park and beaches and in the other to Quepos and the Marina Val Pez, should you fancy a day on the water fishing some of the most exciting waters in the region, if not the world.
Our guests have full use of the apartment along with access to the communal laundry (there is a small fee to the condominium for this) and of course full use of the pool and BBQ area.
Interaction with Guests
We like to meet our guests when they check in and out and are always on hand should you want any help or advice.
We're in the heart of Manuel Antonio, top of the hill almost ;-). You can walk to the best restaurants and an easy bus ride to the beach, National Park or Quepos.
We have a local bus shuttle that runs from Quepos to manuel Antonio beach, it costs about 60 cents and runs every 20 minutes. There are also lots of regulated taxi's and car hire. Car hire is only necessary if you want to explore further afar.
Other Things to Note
Our minimum booking term may be longer than three days between December 26th and January 4th. However it is still worth enquiring, we will try and fit you in if possible.
We try to be as environmentally responsible as possible, please help us by following these guidelines:
Do not feed the monkeys, human bacteria on the food you handle can be harmful to them.
Use air conditioning only when necessary and turn off when you leave the condo.
Our sanitation is an organic system, do not put any paper down the toilet, a bin is provided for this.
Garbage and recycling is at the top of Pacific Canyon Drive as you enter.
Tariq responded quickly to my emails prior to arrival. He wasn't able to meet us during our check-in but did call to make sure everything was OK. He had several suggestions for us on where to go, eat, etc. during our 2-week stay and we took full advantage of his local knowledge. Maid service was provided once to provide for a change of bedding & towels.
The apt itself is as described and we certainly enjoyed it. The bathroom had lots of counter space. The frig is large. The balcony was heaven.
But...we did not enjoy the environment within which the apartment is located. Tariq is aware of our feelings and while these events were definitely outside his control, they do warrant mentioning in this review. They include:
1. noise..lots of it...starting at 6:30 am, lasting all day and well into the evening. Noise from the nearby open-air restaurant, noise from construction of the gym being built behind the apartment, noise from the neighbour's condo being renovated, noise from the traffic both on the nearby highway and on Pacific Canyon Drive. We had two quiet days during our entire 14-day stay. Maybe things were quiet during other guests' visit but they were not for us.
2. there is a general run-down feeling about Villas El Parques. The pool needs work (it was never as clean as neighbouring pools) and always had a musty smell. The frig in the bar area doesn't work. Many of the lounge chairs are rusty and in need of repair. Several lights that highlight the many, many stairs and driveway don't work.
“Wake up in the morning and have your coffee overlooking the Pacific and enjoy the sights and sounds of the jungle.” Not possible due to the noise levels.
“Centrally located close to The National Park and the beaches. You will often see Squirrel, Capuchin and Howler monkeys, a wide array of tropical birds and if you're lucky a sloth or two.” Again, not possible. We didn’t see a single “anything” during our 14-day stay. Again, that may be due to the noise levels.
“Villas El Parque is a short walk from a great selection of restaurants, bars and convenience stores and since you're on holiday they will deliver to you. If the mood takes you.” That is indeed all true but don’t try to walk it as there are no sidewalks or shoulders and no one will stop for you to cross the street.
All that to say, if you come here for some rest & relaxation, you might want to reconsider until the construction is completed & the restaurant noise is reduced. Other than that, Tariq’s place is a “bit of heaven”.
As you say, the construction noise that went on while you were at the apartment was organised without my knowing or in my control. There is an unwritten rule that construction is not undertaken in the neighbourhood during high season, that two people chose to ignore it was unfortunate and I did often apologise. When I asked you, you said it wasn't a big problem, if it had been I would have tried to find you alternative accommodation or offered a refund.
It is unfortunate that you choose to make it an issue now on your review. It also seems to have influenced your view of the whole area, I'm sorry for that .
Amazing house. The view is to die for. Tariq was very nice and recommended fun things to do. Also coordinated our airport travel. I have no complaints.
Tariq was incredibly accommodating from the moment I booked to the moment I departed. The condo was perfect! I loved the condo's proximity to everything. The private pool was also an amazing thing to have access to. I couldn't think of anything that would've made the trip better except for more time. It was amazing! Thank you!
Tariq was a fabulous host and a very warm and caring person . Can't say enough great things about his place and the view is to die for!! Great location, everything was superb!
Tariq was a wonderful host. He made sure to greet us when we arrived, gave us some great recommendations both in terms of food and general tips when visiting the various sites and made sure that if we had any problems we were free to contact him at anytime. When he left he also offered to drop us off at our next location.
The apartment is fantastic, located centrally and the views from the apartment are amazing. I highly recommended staying here.
Tariq was responsive to all questions we had prior to arrival and was at the condo to greet us when we arrived. The space was beautiful and the views were just as breathtaking as pictured. Tariq was friendly and gave us great recommendations for places to eat (including cafe milagro. A must stop for great food and service!) and which beaches were the best to go to. We loved the location, it was close to a bus stop that goes between Manuel Antonio park and Quepos. Tariq was an unobtrusive host but was responsive whenever we sent him an email including arranging for a private driver from the condo to San Jose. Overall, a true gem and we loved our stay here. I could spend all day every day in that hammock. So sad to leave.
Tariq was very helpful and responsive to all my questions prior to our visit, and always easy to reach during our visit.
He greeted us with some thoughtful groceries which were much appreciated, and gave us tips about the area.
The apt. Is clean, cute, and comfortable; walking distance to lots of restaurants and around the corner from the Mariposa. There is a fun bar called Fred's Place at the bottom of the Mariposa parking--check it out if you like to play pool!
Tariq told us about (website hidden) which is a lovely rainforest to visit. If you have a car I suggest food shopping at MaxiPali. The farmers market in Quepos was great for produce! The local beach is beautiful--we had a car but the bus is right there.
The guys who work reception at the Villas were nice and helpful too. And the view from the apt. was beautiful! Thank you Tariq and Faheeda. We really enjoyed staying at your place!
