A modern (not so tiny) tiny home with all the amenities including fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and high-speed wireless internet. Nestled in a grove of 150' tall redwood trees, the tiny home sits out of the inland heat and above the coastal wind and fog. Close to beaches, fishing, boating, hiking and of course serious relaxing!

The space
A well appointed tiny home set amongst a grove of 150 year old redwood trees. Spend time relaxing in the hammock under the redwoods on your own private covered deck, or take advantage of the hight speed internet to finish that novel you have been working on, or explore the nearby trails and beaches

The "Not So Tiny Home" (NSTH) is a prefab tiny house on wheels that we have added a hand built redwood deck to. It is set up for short visits or extended stays where amenities like a full kitchen complete with a 4 burner stove, oven and dishwasher are desired.

The NSTH has two levels. The bottom has the kitchen/dining area, bedroom with queen size organic mattress, full bath with tub and shower, and the laundry. The large windows look out onto the redwood grove that provides ample shade during the afternoons.

The cozy, carpeted upstairs is a half height loft with clearance of about 55". This means that an adult will not be able to stand fully upright in the loft. The loft is setup with a floor couch, pillows and an eco friendly bean bag creating a perfectly relaxing nook for reading, meditating or playing a game of cards. There is also space upstairs for a futon in the event you need extra sleeping space for up to 2 additional people. Let us know and we can accommodate you.

The land that the NSTH sits on is 6 acres of second growth redwoods and open pocket meadows located about 3 miles from the pacific ocean at an elevation of 900 feet. The mornings can be foggy and mystical while the afternoons can warm up to a sweltering 75 degrees!

We live in a separate house about 350 feet from the NSTH. We both work from home and work around the property during the daytime. The tiny home has its own private entrance from the road and plenty of privacy. We will most likely be available if you need anything but otherwise you probably will not see us much.

We do have a dog who is friendly but will bark when greeting new people for the first time. His name is Toba and his favorite treat is jerky.

We ask that guests stay within the redwood grove and not wander near the main house as we value our privacy as much as you do.

Where you’ll be

Manchester, California, United States

Manchester is a hidden gem along the California coast. Home to the historic Point Arena lighthouse and accompanying Manchester State Beach, a seven mile long sandy beach where the Garcia River meets the ocean. We are located less than 10 minutes from both.

Manchester also has a great general store that stocks organic food, beer and wine as well as lumber and hardware.

Ten minutes away in the small town of Point Arena, you will find an art deco theatre that plays independent films, a natural food store/cafe, the public fishing pier and the famous Franny's cup and Saucer Bakery.

During your stay

My wife, Emilie, myself and our friendly dog Toba, share the six acres with the tiny house. Our home is about 100 yards through the redwoods. We will be available by text or phone if a need arises. We may also be working on projects on the land during normal daylight hours so you may see us on occasion. We value your privacy and ours as well.
