FREE MOUNTAIN BIKES FOR GUESTS' USE
NOTE: PLEASE CONTACT US EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE THE LOFT IS BOOKED FOR ALL OR PART OF YOUR STAY (SOMETIMES THERE IS A TIME LAG IN THE CALENDAR UPDATE).
Airy and spacious, our 800 square foot suite occupies the entire top floor in a 1908 character house. We are just steps from the new children's nature park, tourist attractions and friendly, overfed seals at Fisherman's Wharf. Our location, in terms of convenience, is simply the best in Victoria. Leave your car keys at home! We are a ten minute walk to downtown, local beaches, jugglers, magicians and entertainers at the inner harbour, and the scenic walking trails at Dallas Road. James Bay neighborhood village, the oldest in Victoria, is a five minute walk. There you will find coffee shops (including Starbucks), bookstores, breakfast haunts, relaxed open-air pubs and gift shops. Beacon Hill Park, with its lagoons, wildlife, and Petting Zoo for children is a twenty minute walk.
Our loft has a private sunny patio, two skylights, electric fireplace, rich maple flooring, separate private bedroom as well as additional sleeping (double foldout mattress/rollaway cot) off the living room. The bathroom is spacious and has a full tub and shower. The kitchen has light cooking facilities including: convection oven, microwave, rice cooker, hot plate and under counter fridges. There is also a good-sized dining area off the kitchen and lockable storage for bicycles. There is plenty of on-street parking free of charge.
Entertainment choices include: wireless internet, flatscreen tv with dvds and three bicycles for guest use. Children are warmly welcomed (we have an extra cot if needed); the hosts (Michael and Yuki) live in the downstairs suite and many of our younger guests like to bounce on the netted trampoline with our seven year old. Yuki speaks Japanese, Michael speaks Spanish, and our nineteen year old John (when he's in town) speaks German.
We're also happy to welcome pets, although we remove all area rugs for guests with furry friends. A professional dog walking and doggy day care service is located at the end of our street. Bus stops abound and the main bus terminal is a five minute walk. UVIC (University of Victoria) and Camosun College are an easy transit transfer.
Please send us your email inquiry even if it appears the loft is full for part or all of your intended stay. Quite often we have alterations or cancellations in bookings that don't make it onto our availability calendar immediately.
No smoking anywhere on property! PLEASE, PLEASE SHOES OFF AT ENTRANCEWAY!!!! VERY IMPORTANT! Fun is mandatory! We LOVE travel stories!
We enjoyed our stay in the loft. We found it to be clean, comfortable, and quaint. The location was fantastic - easy walking distance to everything. The neighbourhood is older but we were completely at ease. Our hosts Michael and Yuki were hospitable and helpful. They made us feel welcome to knock on their door and chat if we needed anything, but had our complete privacy of we didn't. The loft was amply equipped for light cooking. We would happily return again.
We had a great stay in the loft apartment which was brilliantly located for exploring Victoria. Michael was a very welcoming and accommodating host. The loft was cosy, clean and equipped with all we needed. Great value place to stay.
Michael and Yuki's loft is comfortably tucked away at the top of their house, warm and well-equipped with everything anyone would need need (including plenty of floor space to pull out and sort gear for anyone like me, about to make a long trip north.) It's in a pleasant suburb, close to town, stores and the Fisherman's Wharf mentioned in the write-up, which is great for an early dinner in the sun. A really nice place to stay.
Michael welcome us nicelly. We really appreciated the bikes provided by the owner.
Everything in the loft was perfect. Moreover, the place was well situated near the city center.
Michael and Yuki were excellent hosts. They made us feel welcome at all times, and were ready and willing to help out with any questions we might have had. The listing description was accurate. Pictures do not do full justice to the cute cozy loft! The neighborhood felt safe and was very walkable, and had good access to many amenities. I fully recommend this place. :-)
My son and I had the pleasure to stay at this beautiful place for a few days, over spring break. Our hosts were warm, welcoming, and helpful. The space is generous, clean, well adapted, and fully equipped. The location couldn't be better, it is very close to downtown, just a few minutes of a nice walk along the shore. We will be looking forward to returning to this little piece of urban paradise!
Clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient — I stayed in the Seaside Loft for a full month and loved it! Michael and his family went the extra mile to be helpful, making my stay that much more enjoyable.
