Lovely bedroom with queen size bed. Friendly, safe elevator building. Ten minutes to Prospect Park and 15 minutes to Park Slope. Close to shops and subway. I have a bedroom at the opposite end of the apartment and am often gone.

Other Things to Note

No smoking. I work from home and so I am not looking to rent to party types. You can of course come and go as you please. No extra guests unless you have my permission, and there would be an additional charge. Towels included. A deposit is required of $100 which is refundable.
Bethany made us feel welcome and gave some pointers on the neighborhood. The apartment is in a good location with easy access to parks and the subway, bed is comfortable. Overall staying in this apartment offers an authentic NYC experience with both the good and the bad. We drove to the city and parked on the street across from the building. Next day we noticed that the car's hubcaps were stolen (probably it will cost us around $250 to replace them). If you are sensitive to noise, make sure you bring a pair of earplugs.
Hi Martin, I am sorry that the hubcaps to your car were stolen. This is a safe neighborhood with numerous families, but I guess this kind of thing can happen in almost any NYC neighborhood. I am sorry and hope that the car rental place didn't charge you. As for the noise, yes the apartment building is at a busy intersection, so during the peak rush hours in the morning and at 6pm there is considerable traffic noise. Weekends tend to be quiet. So if you're sensitive to city noise do bring earplugs.
We had another wonderful stay with Bethany in Brooklyn. The room is spacious and comfortable. Bethany was very welcoming for both of our stays. It's perfect for us especially because our son's family is a block away, and it has other advantages as well. It is between two subway stops to Manhattan, easy walking distance for either. There are several delightful local restaurants and coffee shops nearby. We feel very safe in the neighborhood. We look forward to staying with Bethany again.
We stayed at Bethany‘s 3 nights. The flat is cosy and the room we stayed in is really large. It is also very close to the Subway, we found this a great advantage. Allover, we had a lovely time and would anytime recommend Bethany as a host.
Staying at Bethany's was a comfortable experience. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable and the entire place was clean. The apartment is within a few minutes of walk from Church St. on the F/G line and it takes about 30 minutes to get to Manhattan, making the place quite cost-effective. Recommended to those of you who're interested in spending a few days in the city.
Bethany's place is in a great location. Very close to public transportation and plenty of local eateries. At such an affordable cost, this is the perfect spot for guest wishing to explore Brooklyn. We were there when she was out of town, but throughout the week she was very easy to get ahold of and she was very communicative. She worked around our flight schedule and went out of her way to accommodate us. I am very happy I stayed at Bethany's and certainly recommend her place!
We very much enjoyed out stay at Bethany's in Brooklyn. She made us feel welcome right away. The room was large with a comfortable queen-size bed and plenty of room for our belongings including hang-up closet space. We were free to use kitchen and living space as well. There was no problem sharing the bathroom which was next to our (website hidden) in the bedroom kept us cool at night so that we slept well. Her apartment is very convenient to two subway stops on the F line which easily gets you to Manhattan and other spots in Brooklyn. She provided information about sites around NYC which was helpful. For us, it was ideal as her apartment is less than 2 blocks from our son's apartment. We were hoping for a good experience so that we can return - and a good experience is exactly what we had. If you are looking for a convenient place to stay in Brooklyn at a very reasonable price, we can wholeheartedly recommend staying with Bethany.
Bethany was very friendly and understanding about our late arrival. The room was nice enough, although the bathroom floor could be kept a bit cleaner as the cat litter is in there. The location is relatively convenient for park slope and the East village / lower east side, although the local area is relatively devoid of good restaurants, which was inconvenient given Bethany's unusual rule forbidding cooking dinner (we are a couple who cooks a lot!) The AC could use a fix, though luckily it worked for us for most of the time we were there, but in general for a few days we had no major problems and enjoyed our stay in Brooklyn.
