Marge and David were gracious and genuinely friendly hosts. We so enjoyed the conversation, breakfast and complimentary chocolates. I regret the additional problems I caused by forgetting my iPad, and am grateful for their efforts in returning it.
We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our trip to Connecticut. Marge and David were extremely kind and we are so grateful they shared their beautiful home with us. We came in late after a long drive and Marge stayed up just to whip us up some dinner. We were welcomed with the two biggest smiles and hugs and we felt as if we were family as soon as we walked through the door. Their home is filled with such bright and lovely artwork and the outside gardens are so serene and beautiful. A little bit of heaven on earth. The sofa-bed was really comfortable and we had an amazing nights sleep after such a long journey! I highly recommend Marge's french toast and she makes a delicious omelet as well! After many discussions over delicious food, Marge and David went from amazing hosts to what I believe will be life long friends. I miss them already and can't wait to come back!
Warm and welcoming is just the beginning of the kind of experience that you will have when you stay with Marge and David! In fact, each morning--when my spouse and I had to leave incredibly early for a conference at the University of Connecticut--Marge rose cheerily to greet us with a wonderful breakfast. On another cold and rainy night, Marge waited up for us to ensure that we were safe and warm upon our return home. Marge and David's home, surrounded by a tree- and flower-filled yard, is the essence of serenity and peace. The kindness and hospitality that you will receive when you stay with Marge and David is incomparable!
Marge and David clearly have a mission in life to take the best possible care of everyone they meet. The "warm and welcoming" in their description couldn't be more true. Their house and guest room is lovely and infused with personality and caring. Marge got up early and made us wonderful breakfasts, listened, and talked with us. They definitely went above and beyond.
Listing was exactly as described. David and Marge went way out of their way to make us feel comfortable - ensuring that we had every thing we needed. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home right away. The home is filled with fresh flowers from the garden and love from the hosts. The room is snug but adequate- we were out most of the day so it did not matter to us. Came home tired and hosts were very respectful and quiet when I needed to go to bed early. They let me use their space the next day to work remotely and could not have been friendlier.
David and Marge were wonderful hosts. I was only staying in the area for one night and Airbnb was the perfect solution. The house, in a pretty location, was charming and very comfortable, with a private bedroom and bathroom. I was welcomed from the moment I walked in with the generous offer of a glass of wine or tea, and chatting in the living room was a relaxing start to a nice night. David and Marge offered several recommendations for a casual dinner in the area, with choices close by within a few miles. I had a nice quiet evening and slept well on the pull out sofa that was already set up very comfortably. Other than the interesting and friendly conversation, the amazing French toast breakfast was a real highlight. David and Marge take great pride in hosting travelers and I look forward to returning the next time I'm in the area to see my new friends.
