Tokuto is a newly renovated private mansion built in the 1940s on Teshima.

The property is conveniently located about 10mins walk from Ieura Port. Enjoy the luxurious architecture of the past, such as the authentic hand blown window glass and the beautiful gardens with an abundance of stone lanterns.

The building consists of 2 villas. We accept one group for each building.

If you like to connect with nature, we have a veggie garden and pet goats.

The space
"Tokuto" means without haste in Japanese and you can enjoy the atmosphere of the property that has been renovated to retain the beauty of the Japanese history whilst adding a touch of today.

Both villas are spaciously set up on a large block overlooking the township of Ieura and the Seto inland sea. Also, on a clear night, you can gaze into the starry sky and watch the moon rising from the mountains behind.

Please enjoy the island air and relax "without haste".

**Light Continental Breakfast (Toast and coffee) is included. Any other meal options are temporary unavailable due to the COVID-19 measure. Please feel free to contact us if you need assistance making a restaurant reservation on the island.

** Please refrain from using the kitchen to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. However, please feel free to use the microwave, kettle and refrigerator.

**The courtyard and the toilet can be accessed from the garden and will be shared with guests staying at the King Villa. (There is a toilet exclusively for the Queen Villa inside the villa.)

Other things to note
* We can pick you up from either port if you can share the arrival time in advance.

* Luggage storage service is also available on request. (Before check-in & after the check-out).

* "Tokuto" is located at the end of a quiet residential area, please keep your noise down after 8pm and enjoy the sound of nature.

* Please note the most of the windows and door frames are original from 1940’s, so they are very frail and care needs to be taken.

* Please keep in mind there is a forest just behind the villas and you may come across few insects during your stay. We do have insect spray and insect bite cream, but if you have any insect control goods that you usually use, please bring them with you.

* Since the island suffered from industrial waste problems (we can talk about island history during your stay), we do not provide plastic products such as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Please bring your own.

As measures against infectious diseases, operations and opening hours are changing daily for the museum, restaurants and transport. We recommend you to reconfirm and check everything before the departure.

There are no convenience stores, supermarkets or drug stores on the island. There are several corner shops, but they sell limited items. It will be a great experience visiting one of the shop on the island however please bring your essentials.
