Lynn was a wonderful host for our stay in SMA! We used the car service she provides to get from the airport to the apartment, and it made that transition SO easy! The apartment is absolutely lovely. It was everything we were expecting. The location is fabulous! I have traveled to SMA many times and was very excited to see how close we were to all of my favorite spots. We look forward to returning to one of Lynn's homes again when we return to the beautiful San Miguel de Allende!
We didn't meet Lynn but were greeted by her sweet housekeeper who showed us everything we needed to know. The Frida suite was perfect for us with a rooftop terrace that overlooked the city. Beautiful! The suite itself was beautifully decorated and very roomy with many extra amenities.
We had a lovely time in San Miguel de Allende. The studios are close to the main attractions. A lot of little shops and grocery store are nearby.
The place has a beautiful decoration and the terrace has a great view. You have everything you need: glasses, cups, forks, even a coffee maker.
We stayed in Frida's Studio, the bathroom is big and the tiles are very colourful. We had an amazing experience.
Our only problem was that the place is very warm. We had a fan but it was not enough. We had to open the windows and leave the door open in order no make the room cooler. Other than that, everything was perfect.
Internet (though unstable)
Quiet despite being in the center.
Tiny little windows and no ceiling fan (a very good floor fan though).
No hot water in shower, despite letting it "warm up" for 10 minutes.
Overall this is a glorified posada, not a hotel or B&B. As long as you expect that you will be content here.
We had a wonderful experience staying in the Diego/Frida Studios in San Miguel. And, the terrace was an added bonus in the evening hours. Our host was very accommodating and always available. We decided that our next trip to SM will include a stay at the Diego/Frida Studios. WE would certainly recommend it!!

The Diego studio apartment was perfect. Both the apartment and location were great ! The apartment was clean and decorated nicely with art paintings and other decor. The bed was comfy. There was lots of space to put things with closets and drawers to store your clothes. A nice kitchen with utensils and glasses and the bathroom/shower worked well. And access to the roof with a great view of the central part of the city and with tables and chairs and gas barbecue. The apartment is only two blocks from the central jardin. Just down the street was my favorite restuarant, San Augustine. Oh, the owner also supplied a cell phone for use and has a complete book left on the table with important information about the apartment and other information that is very helpful. I was also greeted as promised at the door when I arrived and given a tour of the apartment. Pefect apartment and perfect location.

About the Host, Lynn
I have always loved to fix and design. When I began my real estate career, selling new construction homes, I soon realized that the best part of the job was meeting with interior designers and architects and watching as the more artistic elements of the construction fell into place. After 13 years of owning a real estate company, I built two spec homes on magical Orcas Island in Washington State. Then I undertook a major remodel of a cabin on the water. Something clicked in me during that process of transforming the cabin; I knew I had found my passion….remodeling.
Throughout the next twelve years, I transformed some 30 rather creaky homes into fresh, livable residences, all in the Seattle area. Then I decided to turn my attention to designing and remodeling vacation homes; vacation rentals with personality. In 2005, I moved to Mexico, the land of color and craft, and began working there. In 2010 I did a remodel of a 1928 two bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Then back to Mexico in 2011.
The most exciting phase of building a new place is when everything gets pulled together. I love the details, making sure that one thing plays with another in perfect harmony. I’m always on the hunt for that specific hand-selected ingredient. The beauty of Latin America is being able to design a particular piece that can be made by one of the many talented artisans. Seeing it all come together like a glorious puzzle is very rewarding.
Be my guest at one of eight different and individually unique accommodations in San Miguel de Allende:
“Casa Artistas” on San Francisco Street has a one bedroom casita and two studio apartments with kitchenettes, the Frida and Diego Studios.
”Casa de la Vista, a movie star hide-away” is a three bedroom view home on Salida a Queretaro.
“The Actors Studios” is on Animas Street. It consists of four apartments with kitchens and fireplaces…the Salma Hayek, the Ricardo Montalban, the Dolores del Rio and the Anthony Quinn.
And while you’re at it, check out the “House of Chanel”, a historical, art deco two bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires.
