About this listing
I have a bedroom available in my home here in Providence.Built by the president of Gorham Silver Company in 1870,It is still pretty much intact as I am only the third owner since it was built. I am located near downtown on the west side ,near bus lines ,highways and schoolsThis bedroom is upholstered in green silk more and decorated with Japanese woodblock prints. There's a four poster bed and definitely has a traditional feel to it..From the Morris wallpaper to the Tiffany lamps and stained glass windows and doors it's all here. This would be ideal for the traveler on business or (email hidden)ere is parking, and ample grounds including a rose garden and deck. There is also a Steinway model B in excellant condition in the living room available for use.Truly unique. You simply are not going to find anything like this in Providence.I am located a half block from a bus stop that will take you directly downtown. Please note I now charge if there is more than one guest. This is simply because of the price of food. Please check out my photos. Available daily ,weekly or long term. Also please note that I have two other lisitngs on airbnb in the same house.I have another room available on the first floor and a one bedroom apartment.I have had guest who were not aware of this.
This is a pretty low key home.Live and let live.I do expect people to respect the other people living in the house as there are also apartments that are rented out long term.I do make breakfast in the morning and it is helpful to let me knowv in advance what time you want it .I usually am out by 9:30 so please let me know in advance if you want breakfast later than that.I can also have breakfast ready by 6:30..If you are staying long term sheets are changed twice a week and there are plenty of towels just ask.I'm pretty flexible about check out time but let me know in advance if you are going to be later than 1:00.usually it's no problem unless someone else is coming in
Staying at Chip's home was one of the best AirBnb experiences that I have ever had. The house was absolutely incredible and truly a work of art. Chip was very friendly and prepared a lovely breakfast for us in the morning. We would love to stay here again in the future.
My husband and I spent the past two evenings in Providence, and had a great experience staying at Chip's beautiful home. It was clean, comfortable, breakfast was great, and Chip was an amazing host. We would definitely stay there again.
Chip was friendly and his home was clean and very well decorated. He even had a delicious breakfast waiting for us in the morning. The neighborhood seems a little sketchy at first but once we arrived we felt safe. The room was well kept and clean for our arrival and he was accomodating even though we arrived late to his home.
The communication with Chip was all through email. When I tried to text him about things (wifi password, no more toilet paper), I never received a reply back. I also never saw him once in the place. When he says they are hands off, he means it! The AC was on when I arrived, which was very appreciated, and there was breakfast laid out the next morning, but never seeing another person in such a large house was a little odd. It was also much much darker in the house than the photos let on.
A month stay that was as good as it gets. Chip was friendly and I will miss the morning conversations we had over his delicious breakfast. (Guests should inform Chip if they choose to not take breakfast.)
The room was comfortable and quiet. The location convenient to downtown and fine for my needs.
The staff, including Alice the cat, were helpful and considerate.
Overall, one can be assured of a Airbnb experience that is perfect. Airbnb should be proud to have this listing.
We were difficult guests, i think! We arrived well after midnight. Chip had texted us earlier in the day to let us know how to get in, but it was still a little nerve-wracking to walk into a house unannounced. Perhaps this was just first-time Air BnB jitters.
The house itself was (email hidden) eclectic and fun. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the location was quite close to downtown Providence (though not really easy walking distance). We knew that, and that was perfect for us.
Chip spent time chatting with us both mornings at breakfast, and we enjoyed hearing his stories. I would definitely recommend this place!
What would you expect.I start preparing breakfast at 6;00 in the morning..I gave you instructions ,everything worked out fine,You have seen the reviews ,there's over 500 of them .I simply can't be awake 24 hours a day.I did email you with instructions on how to get in and it's after midnight.
The house is a work of art, including the breakfast every morning! Actually Chip's house itself is a must-see place in Providence! Greatly appreciate the great efforts Chip put in to make my stay at Providence a beautiful experience!
