The space
Welcome to "The Wolf Den" located on Douglas Lake in an area known as Muddy Creek, which is rich with history of the Cherokee Indians. Stand-Up Paddleboards, kayaks & life jackets are available to enjoy the lake (seasonal lake access is typically May-August), and world-class fishing is available locally (permit required).

The property is located next door to Wolf PAWS wolf-dog sanctuary in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, where wolves used to roam freely. During your stay, book a private tour of the sanctuary at wolfpaws dot org to learn more about wolf-dogs, and hear them howl during the day and night from your private balcony.

Dine al fresco or sip a cocktail on the covered deck while enjoying the commanding views of English Mountain and other mountain ranges in the Great Smokies.

There is an outdoor cabana with a grill and sink and picnic table for you to grill & chill by the lake. There is also a fire pit with Adirondack chairs on the deck at the lake's edge.

Wildlife is in abundance here, and during your stay it is possible to see black bears, deer, coyote, wild turkey, as well as many varieties of birds such as the Great Blue Heron, the Snowy Egret, Bald Eagles, Osprey and Hummingbirds

Neighborhood highlights

The nearby town of Dandridge (~10 min drive) is the second oldest town in the state of TN and is named after our first First Lady, Martha Dandridge Washington. There are some historic sites to visit as well as boutique shops and a small pub/eatery at Dandridge Brewing Co. Downtown Knoxville is ~45 min drive, ~30 min drive to Pigeon Forge, and ~1 hour drive to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Located next door to Wolf PAWS wolf-dog sanctuary. Wolf PAWS is not open to the public but offers private tours by appointment. You can book a private tour of the sanctuary during your stay at wolfpaws dot org to learn more about wolf-dogs (book early as tours do tend to fill up quickly). This rental offers a unique opportunity to hear wolf-dogs howling into the night!
