About this listing
In the middle of the vibrant and historic Haight Ashbury district, a peaceful and relaxing space that you will feel at home in.
Perfect for a couple, this one bedroom apartment on the second floor boasts abundant natural light, charming Edwardian details such as stained-glass windows, and a gas pot-belly stove to keep you toasty on chilly days. The eat-in kitchen is outfitted with modern appliances and equipped with everything you'll need. The apartment is exclusively for guests, not used as a home, so you will find it sparsely decorated and free of clutter. Television with basic channels is also internet ready so you can watch Hulu, Netflix or Amazon or even hook up your laptop. If you're not too busy sightseeing, that is! There's plenty to see without going far.
"The Haight," as the locals call it, is a popular destination because of the unique shops and restaurants on Haight Street, as well as the historical significance in the 60's movement. You'll find a fantastic local grocery store only a block away. Golden Gate Park, with museums, a botanical garden, and the Conservatory of Flowers, is only half a mile away. Why don't you hop on the bike and ride to the ocean? Bicycle, helmet and lock available upon request. If you'd rather travel by bus, you'll be pleased to learn that many buses stop at the corner. And it's only a ten minute ride to downtown San Francisco.
After a long day of sight-seeing, come back to this relaxing home-away-from-home.
Guest will have access to the entire apartment of course, as well as a laundry area in the basement.

We had a fabulous stay in Eugenio and Benita's apartment. The location is good to access the city and in a quirky bohemian part of town that we probably wouldn't have discovered if we hadn't have stayed there. The kitchen is brilliant with every utensil you need. Having jet lag it was nice to eat in a couple of nights. There is market a stone's throw from the apartment which is really handy. The bedroom and bathroom are really lovely too. The apartment is accessible to the city via bus and a very close walk to the California Academy of Sciences which we really enjoyed. It's a lovely apartment and I would definitely recommend it. Communication with Eugenio and Benita was good too. Thank you.

The apartment is very tastefully restored in a typical SF Edwardian built shortly after the '06 historic quake and fire. It has a beauful modern kitchen, living room facing west, original stained-glass windows and modern furnishings. It has wood floors with area rugs, comfortable bedroom and modernized bath. We had no direct contact with the owners but they were very responsive to emailed questions. The neighborhood seems to be "gentrifying" and appears to be quite safe. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if the location met my needs as this one did this time.
Benita was quick and accommodating to our request for an convenient earlier check in. The apartment, in a lively area of San Francisco, is very clean and tastefully decorated with all the amenities one needs. Public transportation is available right in front of the apartment.
The location is excellent and access was straightforward. The apartment is comfortable and well provisioned with everything we needed. Although I didn't get to meet the owner (we had a busy two weeks) she is only located downstairs and answered emails promptly. The apartment is surprisingly spacious and is attractively decorated.

About the Host, Benita
My family is currently traveling in Thailand, so we are renting out our house in San Francisco. I have lived in San Francisco since 2002 and I think it's once of the nicest places in the world. I should know! Because I've lived in many countries growing up as a child and continue to travel widely as an adult. I think you will love it here too.
