The Maple Room! Cremorne Penthouse

Apartment - Private room · Spencer Rd, Cremorne, NSW 2090, Australia

Fabulous space in luxury penthouse in leafy Cremorne, minutes to the city and the beaches. Your own en-suite bathroom with shower, queen bed and a private balcony with harbour views to enjoy. Nespresso coffee & tea, WiFi & laundry in the flat.

The Space

Hi my name is Ingrid and my husband Curtis and I love to entertain and meet new people, so we thought this would be a great way to do just that while helping with the bills.

We have a beautiful 3 bedroom penthouse apartment located in the up-market Lower North Shore with great access to many of Sydney's attractions. Gorgeous leafy views make our place feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the surrounds and you can see the fireworks on the harbour from our rooftop deck. The apartment is fully renovated, split over two levels, beautifully furnished and has 3 balconies. Despite our close proximity to the city, we are surrounded by native wild life and have Rainbow Lorikeets, (beautiful local parrots) amongst other interesting animals, visit us daily to be hand fed. You'll love these guys, they have such cheeky personalities!

The Maple Room
This room is a little bit of home away from home for my Canadian husband Curtis; I have just redecorated and it's lovely! You'll have a private ensuite bathroom and your own balcony with lush views (it's a great place to greet the morning while sipping on a cafe latte). This room has tonnes of natural light, but also has block out blinds if you want to sleep in for a while and relax in the comfortable queen sized bed.

Your Hosts
Curtis and I are professionals but come from hospitality backgrounds - I love to cook, Curt can mix a mean cocktail and weather permitting, we light up the BBQ and chill out on the deck with a frosty beverage. Both well traveled (Curt's originally from Vancouver), we know what it's like to live out of a suitcase and want to bring a little home away from home to other travellers.

We do our best to share dinner with our guests, or at least a glass of wine during their stay. It really depends on our schedules and that of our guests at the time, but we do try to be hospitable in any case!

Please Note:
- A cleaning fee of $30 per room applies (per week/booking)
- All linen and towels are provided and are hotel quality
- Discounts available for bookings of one week or more

The Neighborhood

The Neighbourhood
Fantastic restaurants, cocktail bars and the famous Hayden Opheum Art Deco theatre are literally a 2 minute walk away, as is transport to the city, Taronga Zoo and some of Sydney's most stunning beaches (all within 10 minutes). For the health conscious or anyone wanting to see Sydney Harbour from a different perspective, the 5km walk around Cremorne Point is just amazing and some beautiful National Parks are also a short walk away, getting out and about to really see Sydney is never a chore.

If you love the night life it's a quick bus or cab ride to the city and we are happy to guide you to the right party destination for you, give you the inside scoop on some of Sydney's best restaurants or perhaps get you on the guest list at one of Sydney's great clubs!

You can take a scenic ferry ride across our beautiful harbour from Cremorne Point ferry terminal and see the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Botanical Gardens and more! It's the perfect way to view these iconic land marks.

  • My husband & I chose Maple room over other listings in the Cremorne area because it was just a street away from my daughter's flat. It was 1 of our major considerations. It also helped that the photos of the house & the room were to our liking. It reminded us of our house in the Phililppines, clean lines, uncluttered spaces, a garden view when we have breakfast every morning.

We have visited my daughter before so we were quite familiar with the area. It is close to everything you would need but still maintains its quiet neighborhood. It's 10 minutes walk to grocery, cafés, bus stop, theatre etc. it's a 20 minute leisurely walk to Cremorne Point (a beautiful point where you can see the bridge & the Opera, aside from being able to sit & have a picnic) where you can get the ferry to the city.

We were not able to spend much time with Ingrid because we really wanted to spend all of our time with our daughter & our grandson considering our visit was only 11 days. Still Ingrid proved to be a very helpful & gracious host.

  • This was our first airbnb experience and we were a little apprehensive to meet our hosts. Immediately our fears were dispelled as soon as we met Ingrid, she proved to be an absolutely charming and helpful host. Nothing was too much trouble for her and we left feeling we had made a new fiend. We were very pleased with the standard of the accommodation and the locality was perfect for transportation, as buses ran regularly very close to the appartment. There were lots of very good affordable restaurants close by. We would love to stay again if we visit Sydney in the future and will highly recommend Ingrid to our friends.

  • My husband & I stayed at The Maple Room for 2 nights, Ingrid is the perfect host, helpful & friendly & the room is great, very clean and comfy, and so nice to have a balcony! Ingrid was very welcoming & we shared a quick glass of wine with her before heading out to meet our friends who live near by. Location is great for access to city via bus or taxi too, we would stay again for sure!

  • Ingrid and Curtis are fantastic hosts. They were lovely, so welcoming, accommodating and understanding of my circumstances. They are very well prepared, full of information at hand on the the area, local amenities, things to do in Sydney, etc. The apartment is beautiful, full of light, spacious, very well decorated and equipped and so homely. The bedroom is so much more than I expected, very bright, spacious, with a lovely balcony and very nicely decorated as well. I loved my stay and will keep in touch to stay there in future. I would recommend it to all, absolutely.

  • We had such an amazing stay at Ingrid and Curtis'. They were away at the time, so we had the place to ourselves. It really felt like our home away from home with so many quality inclusions. The whole thing went really smoothly and we were sad to leave. The house is super clean and had brand new bathrooms and very equipped kitchen. The furnishings were also of the highest quality. They were so organised and had a welcome letter and folder full of travel info, appliance tips, and local restaurants. Radio Cairo was definitely our favourite restaurant and was just around the corner. Would recommend staying here to anyone!

  • Ingrid and Curtis are wonderful hosts. Thanks to them we had the best vantage point for the NYE fireworks! We had a great time at their place, which is very nice and clean.

  • Ingrid and Curtis are so friendly it's like we have known them for years. They really made us feel at home and were very helpful in planning our time in Sydney and Australia, and they can let their hair down so be ready.
We would recommend anyone who can respect others space and wants to be close to but not right in Sydney to check this out.
