The space
Live on a private island with gorgeous karst limestone for two or more days. Floral Island Resort is nestled in the middle of Talacanen Island and offers a secluded, serene, and exclusive ambiance for your family and friends.
With an open-air restaurant, seven beachfront rooms, and one honeymoon cottage by the cliff, we can host up to 24 guests. We have refreshing drinks and wine, bonfire and smores, a floating raft, a diving board, and a lovely massage hut. You won’t run out of things to do!
We provide boat transfers, healthy and fresh meals from Palawan’s fishing capital, free use of kayaks, paddle boats, high speed internet, solar power, and private showers. Ice-cold drinks, fans, and the sea will cool you throughout the day, while the sea breeze will rock you to sleep at night.
Sunset cruise, island hopping, waterfalls exploration, and even yoga retreats are premium services we can add upon request. And for those up for a dare, you may hike to the top of the limestone cliff and have a rewarding 360 degree view of the island, the beautiful bay, and the golden sun.
We are proud to be part of the Coral Triangle Initiative, an international project planting artificial coral reefs to support our thriving ecosystems. Visit our coral domes and taklobo (or giant clam) garden just in front of the resort.
Be a CORAL HERO and plant some corals yourself!
We welcome everybody who loves nature and respects the environment. Help us keep our place authentic, peaceful, and pristine. Protect the wildlife and the rich biodiversity of the island. Take unforgettable island life experiences with you… and leave the rest behind!
Guest access
From El Nido Airport or Puerto Princesa Airport, we can charter a third-party van transport for your group going to Caniqui Wharf. Travel time from El Nido Airport is 1 hour, while travel time from Puerto Princesa Airport is 4 hours. From Caniqui Wharf, we provide the parking lot (if you have a vehicle) and the 10 to 15-minute boat transfer to Floral Island Resort.
On Floral Island Resort, you’ll be assigned your rooms along the beach and oriented on the island geography and features. Talacanen Island, where the resort is located, is about 11 hectares, and you can explore nearly all six beaches by kayak, and on foot during low tide. Please note that we have two old neighbors behind the island. Most of the older houses on Talacanen are no longer occupied.
The Clubhouse in the middle of the resort serves as a multi-function hall, with its covered dining area and outdoor veranda. Other than dining here for most of your meals, the Clubhouse is also where you can order your refreshments, book your massage or yoga session, and make reservations for island hopping, coral planting experience, or jungle trekking with waterfalls. There is also a game room on the second floor where you can play foosball, board games, and card games.
Behind the Clubhouse is a restricted area where my family and our staff live. The beaches, activities, and clubhouse are yours to relax in and bond with your family and friends. One special feature we’ve built on the island is a 300+ step going to the island’s highest peak. This takes about 15 minutes to reach and works great for an early morning or late afternoon hike to see the golden sunrise or sunset.

IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT THE ISLAND
• Floral Island Resort is located in Taytay Bay in the town of Taytay, right next to El Nido. The islands in this bay are outside the tourist traffic and require chartered transportation.
• Your main hosts are my parents – my Swiss father Martin and Filipina mother Flora. Our trained staff are also here in case my parents are not available.
• Local Government Environmental Fee of Php 315 (around $6) per guest is not included.
• The island is off-grid and solar-powered. We encourage you to conserve water and electricity by turning off faucets and showers, and unplugging electronic devices, when they are not in use.
• We have a lifeguard and first aid response for minor injuries. The nearest hospital in Taytay is about 1 hour away.
• Some of the beaches have sandflies when the weather is calm and still. For guests sensitive to insect bites, we have organic citronella oil for sale at the Clubhouse to soothe and prevent bites.
• We accept PHP, USD, and EURO bills. Credit card payment with a 3.5% surcharge is also available.
