About the neighborhood, from NY times article Feb 2013:
"South of Fifth has emerged as the most expensive section of Miami Beach. A string of high-rise condos along the water, which were at the center of the struggle over the city’s development 15 years ago, are selling apartments for record prices.
Last year, a penthouse at one of two Continuum towers sold for $25 million, then the highest sale for an apartment in Miami Beach. In late December, a penthouse at the neighboring Icon tower sold for just under $21 million, a record for a bay-facing apartment in the city.
More than a dozen restaurants, including several considered the most exclusive in Miami Beach, have opened in the neighborhood, which is also home to the 18-acre South Pointe Park."
Interaction with Guests
My assistant and I are available by phone and email, and of course through Airbnb!
The swimming is marvelous, as the sandy beach has a gentle slope, with crystal clear water, that is luxuriously warm and soothing! During a good share of the year you can swim for hours without even getting a chill. It's wonderful to go for a swim a couple of hours before sunset, and then paddle around as you watch the spectacular play of ever-changing colors dappling the waves as the sun dips below the horizon.
There are terrific restaurants, clubs, and bars here, as well as wonderful designer shopping, and you'll be staying in the historic Art Deco District, in a secured and authentic Art Deco building. You are virtually next-door to the lovely and entertaining Lummus and South Pointe parks, as well as the world-famous and extremely cool Nikki Beach Club!
Other Things to Note
Early check in or check out up to one hour may available on a case by case basis.
Notice must be given when making the reservation and owner must confirm acceptance. Any more than one hour and up to 4 hours will incur an additional $50 fee per occurrence.
Lost keys will incur a $150 replacement charge (because there's an expensive Medeco key).
Ted did a great job making me feel welcome and was always available should I have any questions. The place was in a perfect location in a very nice complex. It was very quiet and clean. It was the perfect home away from home!
Very comfortable apartment. Well equipped. Great location.
Ted's place was amazing! Everything from the moment we arrived was just perfect, the pool was a great option for those times after the beach or a few cocktails at night. The location is perfect for accessing amazing restaurants or Miami nightlife.
We had a total of 4 guests staying, with plenty of room for everyone.
We'll definitely be back, thanks again Ted!!
Great! Ted was a very helpful host and ensured us a lovely stay! A really nice place, we'll be back next year!
Many Thanks indeed.
We loved this place. It was very clean and we had all the utensils to prepare our breakfast, sheets for beds and towels for the beach.
Very close to the beach and restaurants.
Super leilighet, perfekt for en liten familie med barn. Svømmebassenget og området rundt var helt i skyggen, så det ble for kaldt for perioden vi var der. Veldig nærme superfin strand, men dårlige parkeringsmuligheter (kostbare parkeringshus i nærheten). Anbefaler å ikke ha leiebil dersom dere skal være i området en lengre periode. Hjelpsom vert.

About the Host, Ted
I'm a South Beach local of 20 years.
I love it here and I'm happy to be able to help others experience my paradise!
I'm a total music fanatic, eclectic taste ranging from Dire Straits to Killing Joke, lately some Florence and the Machine, M83 and other "underground mainstream" (if there is such a thing)
Like to play drums and design sounds when I can, mostly Industrial.
Reading Stoic Philosopher Seneca lately (you should check him out!), and the bible always.
Love watching a good foreign film (even a mediocre foreign film for that matter, over a domestic one).
Favorites include "Kontroll" (Hungary), "Dogs Will" (Brazil) "City of Men" and "City of God" (definitely Brazil) "Bibliotheque Pascal" (Hungary)(I'm beginning to notice a pattern here)
When I get my own act together enough I want to operate an orphanage in an appropriate third world city to give some kids a chance at a nice life.
Trying my best to live spiritually while keeping one foot in the material world.
Restore motorcycles for fun and ride a Ducati Monster pretty much every day.
Novice videographer with large aspirations, barriers to entry just disintegrated!
Not in it for the money, so I can't go wrong.
I enjoy visiting the Caribbean and South America to keep things in perspective. Helps one realize how much we have while also reminding how little it takes for people to be happy.
My life motto would be "What's Next?"
