If you want the real Amalfi coast without lots of tourists around and one of the best views you can have this is the place! Nocelle is still close enough to get down to Positano and the rest of the coast. This is ON the path of the gods( sentiero degli dei), the path is below the house. Amazing hiking on a lot of paths you can do from the house. The food you can get here is realy good. I had a small room, but everything i needed was there- but i was on the top with a large terrace outside with a view all over.., it's realy spectaculare. The family is the nicest you will find doing everything they can for you.very good breakfast every morning and cleaning daily. Thanks so muchThis place i will remember forever!!!

Villa Sophia is a beautiful location. Remote and accessible at the same time. Sophia and her husband were so nice! The views from the patio were spectacular. The villa was immaculate. No a/c, which was tough in the height of summer (we were there in August), but there was a nice cross breeze when all the windows were open. Lots of busing and lots of walking. Loved every minute of our experience!

amazing views from our room. would recommend that you stay here but just make sure you ask go a room that has a kitchen with a stove so you can do some cooking as positano was super expensive and it was always a process just to get to town as the buses only run once per hour and take 30 minutes to get into town and back up. Also make sure you bring very comfortable shoes because you will be doing a crazy amount of walking in and around positano. Sophia and her family were really great people and did their best to make us feel at home!

Where do I begin. Sophia, Luciana, Rafaele and Salvatore, for us, were the highlight of the Positano experience. And that's saying something, because the Amalfi Coast is so very, very beautiful, it was surely created on one of God's most inspired days. Villa Sofia, on The Path of the Gods, is for lovers of nature, or just lovers. It's not for you if you like to be in the hustle and bustle. Yes, there are a few steps to get there, but once you arrive, wow! The panorama is so incredible, I still don't believe it was real. There are several beautiful restaurants within 10 minutes walk, or some a little more by shuttle bus. Villa Sofia was perfect for us. Sophia and her family were also perfect. The apartment was beautifully decorated, super comfortable and very well provisioned. And the town centre is easily accessible by bus. I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else when visiting Positano.

Our stay with Sophia and Lucianna was a pleasant one, although it could have been better. Upon arrival it is clear that the airbnb is situated within a small area/village. All the locals much like our hosts were very lovely people that were willing to help albeit the language barrier (english speaking). The airbnb itself has the basic necessities. Small tokens such as daily cleaning of the room and complimentary breakfast are provided. As well as this information packs are provided within rooms. Although stating the above, our experience was hindered slightly due to a few incidents and a lack of information. Firstly, the location of the airbnb is not located in positano itself. It is located within Nochelle. As detailed, Nochelle is full of lovely people and is a small village however it is extremely hilly throughout. Access to the area and airbnb is also minimal. The only way to get there upon arrival on the ferry in Positano is to catch a taxi up as the buses are extremely crowded and it is not feasible to carry luggage. Unfortunately this is where a major problem began for us. After travelling via train to salerno and then a ferry into positano and up the hills to Nochelle throughout the day with our luggage we were extremely tired. A heads up or notification about the process to get to the airbnb would have been appreciated. However, throughout the day of check-in our hosts were not reachable leaving us to wonder how to get the Nochelle and where to go for check in. A taxi up to mountain can only take you as far as a car park in Nochelle. At this point, with our luggage in hand, we were at the top of the mountain and still had not heard from our hosts. After numerous phone calls and not getting through it was very frustrating. Luckily, a local spotted us and helped us to carry our luggage to a cart for our airbnb and walked us down the pathway of steps to the airbnb. At this point we were still confused as to what was happening and had not heard from our hosts. Whether or not we were in fact meant to meet this person or it was coincidence we are yet to know. Upon arrival we were greeted by Sophia and she showed us to our room and talked us through information packs. At this point, 8pm, we had finally settled in, freshened up and started to relax. However, we had a knock on our door from Sophia asking us to move to another room - for reasons we still are not aware of as we could not quite understand what she was trying to convey. We agreed to this under the understanding that an error was made. The next day however, we saw a group of 4 people checking into the room we previously had and the one that is right next to it. Interesting. Although it may...

Villa Sophia is a wonderful place to stay! Very typical Italian villa with an extraordinary view, free wifi (in places), a great breakfast, and very gracious hosts. Be prepared to walk down a lot (thousands) of stairs (about an hour) or take the public bus that can be very crowded, to get down to Positano. It is a beautiful, out of the way location, but you have to be prepared to travel a bit to get to the main tourist destinations. The public bus is easy to hop on, but can be very crowded. I would not recommend this location if you have difficulty walking up and down stairs, but if that isn't an issue, it's a really fun place to stay and walkable from lots of popular destinations. We had a great experience!
