Getting around

Fabulous apartment stylishly decorated in vibrant, hip part of the city. Close to restaurants and bars, cool shops and transport links. Lovely old building with vintage style and thus some old style amenities. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

The host was responsive by cellphone and email, but he told me the key would be in one place, and when I arrived after midnight, and hunted around with a flashlight, the key was not there. I called and left a message. Michael got right back to me, and the issue was resolved. This place is in a great location, and it is a charming older building, but it is seedy and needs a good cleaning.

Michael's stay was in a quiet side of town. The apartment was lovely. Check in was a breeze because there is a lockbox provided and the house was in immaculate condition. There is a cute wine bar just a block and a half away. Everything was lovely and wonderful - I look forward to staying at Michael's place the next time i'm in town!

Michael's place is in the perfect location: close enough to the cool shops, restaurants and hangout spots in Hayes Valley, but far enough away to be quiet and feel secluded. Cozy and comfortable, with lots of music photographs and art on the walls giving an artistic vibe. Though it was a cold time of year during our stay, the backyard patio area looked like a wonderful place to hang out on a sunny day. As is the case with most of SF, parking can be tough, but our host had helpful tips for us about that. I loved this place because it really felt like San Francisco, and not like a hotel or tourism magazine's version of it. Ritual Coffee is about a block away. You will want to get coffee there are least once during your stay. Drinking coffee and sitting in the park, bundled up in multiple layers to fend off the cold San Francisco morning, feeding the little finches that congregate at my feet waiting for an errant crumb or a purposeful piece of croissant to fall to them, feeling the delight of finding out that they'll just fly up and eat out of my hand — I couldn't have had this wonderful experience without being able to stay at Michael's place.

All round good person . I live in SF and run several small brick and mortar businesses. I live in a duplex in the middle of SF that I own. I don't smoke and drink socially. I love live music and architecture.

When I travel I like to walk a lot and I generally don't stay indoors except to sleep.

I'm clean and like to have a clean living space.
