Located in nearby Mar Vista, less than two miles from world famous Venice Beach and with abundant available street parking, our private guest house is situated at the rear of our property and includes a half bathroom and kitchenette. The outdoor, hot water shower is just at the rear of the guest house and next to a Jacuzzi hot tub amidst lush landscaping with a serene zen-like sensibility. • Bay was a terrific host. Her studio is exactly what is advertised, private, clean, surprisingly spacious. Perfect for a solo traveler or a couple. She provided coffee, tea and pastries for breakfast. The mini fridge was stocked with water, refreshments and even beer. Large work desk for those who take their work on the road. Even a printer! The pull out bed is advertised as a pull out bed, so no surprises there. The outdoor shower is a real treat for those of us who live in colder climates. We did not use the Jacuzzi, but it's really situated in a romantic ambiance. I definitely recommend her spot to other travelers. Best wishes, Sergio

  • The Host, the Atmosphere and the Amenities Make This a True Oasis! First of all, Bay Leigh couldn't possibly make this place more appealing. After the grand tour, she handed me the keys and said, "Mi casa su casa." And she meant it. I felt at home from moment one and didn't want to leave at the end. More than once I let Bay know that she'll have to have me taken out in cuffs. With a spacious bedroom-livingroom, a MAMMOTH new hi-def TV rigged with FIOS, a DVD player, and more channels than one could count in a day this place is beyond great. Better than home, actually. The FIOS internet blazes. No spinning beach balls waiting for pages to load here. The space is spotless and filled with sunlight - controllable with verticle shades. The marble counter-topped kitchen more than does the job with its good-sized fridge, microwave, electric tea and coffee pots, hot plate and cupboards stacked with the necessities, including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, snacks and more. What sold me on the place? It wasn't so much the ever-ready outdoor hot jacuzzi spa that's all yours whenever you want it or the free parking on the premises or the central air and heat or the peaceful trickle of the fountain just outside your door or the VERY private (and liberating) outdoor shower. It was Bay's sprawling marble-topped desk and workstation. As a writer this was BIG. All I needed was to bring my laptop. A printer? Bay's got it. Paper? It's there. Office supplies? Don't pack your own. The only thing better than the place itself was Bay. Smart, witty, funny and dedicated to YOU, the guest, she defines what it is to be "the perfect host." It would have been well worth it to have stayed long past my check out time - even if it meant being escorted out by the cops. I can't wait to go back.

  • It was a great experience! Very private, very comfortable and a great place to stay. The outdoor shower was fantastic! We used the hot tub too and it was perfect. A great place, a great deal and Bay was a wonderful hostess! I will stay there again.

  • Courteous and accommodating, Bay was awesome. Very clean and beautiful guest house with an awesome hot tub. Would recommend Bay to almost everyone.

  • This was our first experience using Air BnB and it could not have been better. Bay was an amazing, amazing host. She was extremely friendly, accommodating, and helpful. As soon as we arrived, she was ready to give us a tour of the guest house, which was beautiful and clean. We were in need of an iron pretty quickly as we had a dinner to get to, which she got for us immediately. With Bay, it was the small things...she had lemon bread and sodas/waters in the fridge ready, she cleaned up a bit during the day while we were out, and she also wasn't at all intrusive to our alone/vacation time. As for the actual guest house, it was beautiful and spacious. The hot tub was a god send, which was set in a private outdoor space, which was amazing in the morning, drinking coffee. Beautiful TV, the bed was fine, and good wifi/printer station. I really can't recommend Bay's guest house more. You won't regret it.

  • Bay was a lovely host - informative and quick to respond, while giving us lots of privacy. The space itself is clean, homey, and modern. The hot tub was a blessing after a long day of sight-seeing, and the location is ideal (we could walk to Venice Beach but weren't in the thick of all the action, so our nights were quiet). The outdoor shower worked fine for us, but may be less comfortable in colder weather. Overall, an excellent experience - I would highly recommend it!

  • Generally speaking, I have high maintenance tendencies when it comes to selecting an airbnb place, but happy to say that this pad exceeded my expectations!

The guesthouse is truly a unique experience due to the hot tub and outdoor shower. The outside area is very private and perfect for a couples retreat.

    Other thoughts:
    - Our stay was during Christmas, and I can confirm that the 60ish degree weather during morning showers was not a bother at all. You can simply hop into the shower (which heats up in 20 seconds) and hop out into the guesthouse.
    - The entire place is maintained very well; the guesthouse finishing looks new and is very clean
    - There is an outdoor patio which is perfect for breakfasts and lunches
    - Be mindful that the bed is a sofa pullout bed, but it's more comfortable than most due to the mattress foam topper. In our mind, the trade off between a pullout and real bed is a no brainer because of the various guesthouse perks
    - Kitchen amenities in terms of drinks / coffee / tea / hot plate is perfect, but just a heads up that there is no stove or oven.

Overall, a great place to have a rendez-vous in Santa Monica. Highly recommend it!

  • Located in a lovely LA neighborhood, you will enjoy this casita studio space. Clean and private, with the delightful surprise of the shower being outside adjacent to the hot tub in the private garden. I slept well on the comfortable hide-a-bed. Bay, the owner was warm and accommodating.

  • I stayed here by myself for a business trip and would highly recommend it. The hot tub and the hospitality are worth the visit. Great space. Great privacy.
