  • The location is ideal. It is close to the train station, conference center, entertainment complex, and many other things in the CBD. There is also a grocery store close by so it is easy to make your own food in the kitchen.

  • I spent a week at Paulo's and Yanina's place. I never met them but the place was great. Great price and ideally located. I would reccomend it.

  • Location is great , near to crown and southbank . For the price and location room was worth every cent .

  • I had a conference on at the convention centre, and this was a perfect location for that purpose. I could walk there in five to ten minutes, so really really handy. Also great to be in walking distance of South bank, the city, the wharves, the Yarra... lots of great exploring to be done on foot.
I didn't spend much time in my room at all, but it was clean and a decent size. The bathrooms were reasonably clean too. The place is almost like a mini hostel, with a bunch of rooms. I could hear people walking about in the mornings and at night, but it didn't bother me or anything. Just worthwhile knowing if you're a sensitive/fussy sleeper. For the price, I was very happy with the set up. I used the kitchen twice, never ever had to wait for the amenities (there's separate girls' and boys' bathrooms, with multiple toilets and showers in each). Usually, waiting for the bathroom is one of the most annoying elements of communal/shared living, so whenever that DOESN'T happen, I'm pretty damn pleased!
Also wanted to mention that within walking distance is the cafe Charlie Lovett (just down from the exhibition centre) and in a laneway over the bridge is a little Italian restaurant called Cafe Andiamo. Both were awesome and I will return!!
Overall, for the price and the location, this was a really decent place to stay.

  • Paulo was very accommodating, met us late Friday night to check in and let us have a late check out the day we left. The location was terrific, we spent all weekend on foot. The only drawback was the loud music Friday and Saturday night because of a night club next door.

  • The place is in a fantastic location for the Crown Entertainment and Conference Centre and everyone was very lovely. The place has at least 10 rooms located along a long corridor, with communal kitchen and bathroom facilities up one end. The room was clean and looked like in the picture. However, the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything: people chatting on (website hidden) in their rooms, conversations in the kitchen, a clock ticking in a different room, etc.! If you are a sensitive sleeper either stay somewhere else or take earplugs/ protective earwear! I was very pleased to not be staying there Friday as one of the other residents (some of which have been there over a year) said the nightclub next door shakes the whole building til 4am every Friday and Saturday night. However, if you are likely to be partying til then anyway this may be the perfect accomodation for you!

  • We stayed for 2 weeks. It was close to the city and I liked the big common kitchen where people could meet each other. And the hosts were very nice and helpful.

  • Paulo and Yanina are a very nice host couple, helpful and easygoing !

    January 2013
  • This was a great place in a central location for a short stay in Melbourne. Paolo and Yanina were nice and very friendly hosts and the accommodation was basic but perfectly fine for my needs. I did not spend much time there because the location was so convenient to get out and see Melbourne!

    December 2012
  • Not what we had expected - the facilities were very basic and there was no number on the door so it was difficult to find - just what you need when you arrive in a heatwave - 39 degrees!!, but the central location made up for it. The hosts were very helpful
