Other Things to Note
CO2 detector and fire alarms in each room and hallway. These are active. If battery is low, screeching sound will happen—so we are assured these are up to date and keeping you safe during your stay.
no smoking indoors. preferably no shoes on white living room rug. keep screen to backyard closed. Shut off propane after using bbq. Be respectful of backyard as we share it with our generous neighbors. No loud music outside after 11. Lock up when finished. Put key in plastic grocery bag (or other non-descript packaging) and toss over gate far enough so that nobody can grab it through gate. Thanks!
Chuck was a friendly and flexible host. We had an amazing time at this house. It was very clean and well equipped. The backyard was the best thing about the house.
I love using Airbnb because of amazing places like Chuck and Tiffanys Boerum Hill brownstone. Our group of six stayed here for two nights in August 2015.
Check in was a breeze. Our flight into Kennedy was delayed a little so we arrived at the brownstone 15 minutes after the agreed upon time. However I text messaged Chuck prior to leaving JFK to let him know that our flight had been delayed and that we would arrive 15 minutes late and he was understanding and even thanked us for the update.
The location of the brownstone was ideal. It was a breeze taking the LIRR from Kennedy and it was equally easy going to and from Manhattan. Boerum Hill is an awesome little neighborhood full of little shops and cafes. The best coffee shop in Brooklyn (Konditori) is located a short walk away on Smith and Pacific. Also there's a huge Trader Joes about a mile away to stock up on groceries if needed.
The size of the brownstone was perfect for our group of six. Each of us had our own bed and the bed I slept on had a firm mattress which is great because I like firm mattresses. One of friends slept on the couch and she said it was really comfortable. Water pressure was really good in the shower I used (the downstairs shower). Also the kitchen was big, clean and ideal for long stays.
Check out was a breeze too. We made sure to turn off the AC and lock all the windows before we locked up and left the key through the gate. Chuck and Tiffany have an easy and perfect system.
Chuck and Tiffany were great hosts for my groups trip to Brooklyn. Steps from Barclay's Center, bars, and restaurants, an a 5 minute walk to Atlantic Terminal which can take you pretty much anywhere you want to go in Manhattan. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and would definitely use them again for any travels to the NYC area.
About the Host, Chuck & Tiffany
Tiffany is a graphic designer working mom of 2 kids, ages 5 & 8. Loves her Brooklyn community and the people that live and visit there!
Chuck (UPenn graduate) works as a copywriter for advertising and is incredibly handy around the house. He even built the treehouse in the backyard!
Both of us love riding bikes around the city, picnics with the family and whatever cultural events we can make room in the schedule for.
