A beautiful, charming 2 bedroom cottage within walking distance (1/2 mile) to Thumpertown Beach. It's situated on a triple sized lot, close to the outer Cape's favorite attractions. Eastham is known as the Gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Please note. From June 15 to Sept 10 we rent the cottage in 7 day blocks from Saturday to Saturday.

The space
The cottage was built in 1949 and renovated in 2005 on a full acre lot. It features an open floor plan, with vaulted ceilings, wide pine board floors, a wood stove and skylights.

There are 2 bedrooms, a galley kitchen, a living room/dining room, bathroom and an enclosed airy sun room. The cottage also has a large deck, picnic table, and a new gas grill. The old copper boiler has been up-cycled and transformed into kitchen track lighting. We also have a brand new outdoor shower, a Cape Cod "must-have"!

The property sits on a triple sized lot as the previous owners bought the 2 adjacent lots for more privacy.

Where you’ll be

Eastham, Massachusetts, United States

Eastham is located within the Cape Cod National Seashore. The town is bound by Wellfleet to the north, Orleans to the south, Massachusetts Bay to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Eastham enjoys beaches both on the open Atlantic and on the bay side. The two compliment one another: the ocean side beaches offer waves, surfing, seals, and sand dunes while the bay side offers warm water, tidal flats, crabs and sand dollars, and even a shipwreck at low tide.

"A person may stand there and put all of America behind them." -Henry David Thoreau on the town of Eastham Massachusetts

The Cape Cod National Seashore, created on August 7, 1961 by President John F. Kennedy, encompasses 43,607 acres on Cape Cod. It includes ponds, woods, sand dunes and beachfronts of the Atlantic coastal pine barrens eco-region.

The Atlantic side of Eastham is home to "Coast Guard Beach" and "Nauset Light Beach". These are pristine long, wide beaches with practically zero development. This part of Cape Cod is considered a premier locale for East Coast surfers. There are lots of surfshops around to rent surfboards, SUPs and kayaks.

Coast Guard Beach in Eastham was just voted "5th BEST beach in the WORLD" by Dr. Beach: America's foremost beach expert. Goggle it.

The town was originally home to the Nauset Indians. First Encounter Beach on the bayside is where a hunting party from the Mayflower first met native people in the New World. In 1651, Eastham was incorporated by a group of Pilgrims who settled here.

The neighborhood and the surrounding area are family friendly. The warm waters of bayside Thumpertown Beach is a 15 min WALK from the cottage. There are dozens of restaurants, markets and shops all within a few miles of the cottage.

There's even an ice cream truck that comes around everyday to cool you off after a day at the beach!
