Charming 1 bedroom cottage in Wimberley, Texas. Conveniently located less than one mile from the square, Blue Hole Regional Park and one of the last outdoor theaters in the nation, The Corral. Wimberley is one of the best kept secrets of the southwest. We're an easy 45 minute commute to Austin, but the tranquility leaves you feeling as if you traveled back to a simpler time. What a perfect place to feed your soul as you appreciate the unexpected beauty. Relax in the river to the soothing music of the gentle rapids, catch fireflies, throw horseshoes, barbecue, or rock on the wraparound porch as you listen to an occasional donkey on a nearby ranch. This is a place to be EXPERIENCED. Guests have easy access to the Blanco River from our property. While the cottage is appointed with charming antiquities of a bygone era, pressed tin ceilings, wood burning stove, claw foot tub, etc., you will have all the conveniences needed to make your stay enjoyable and economical. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer, cable, HD TV, filtered water, memory foam mattresses and air conditioning. With enough room to feel at home, the cabin boasts a private bedroom with a queen sized bed and a loft hideaway perfect for children with a twin bed. If you'd like to bring a fourth guest, there is space for an air mattress. High speed internet is available nearby. Your flea free pets are welcome with an additional deposit and our two dogs will enthusiastically greet you upon arrival. I enjoying hosting guests and will accommodate your wishes whether it be for assistance or privacy. All linens are provided along with organic produce from the gardens when available. My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at River Song Cottage. It is a very sweet, cute little abode, and the land that the cottage was on was incredibly breathtaking! It was so green, and we would wake up in the mornings to find deer wandering the property. Summer has a Netflix account that was available for us to use, so when it stormed one night, we were able to keep ourselves entertained.
The house was a short (5 minute) drive to downtown Wimberley, which had so many cute restaurants and shops. It's also just a day-trip away from all of those great cities and towns you can find in the Texas Hill Country: Fredericksburg, San Marcos, Austin, Dripping Springs, etc. We highly recommend visiting Bell Springs Winery and the Jester King Brewery if you have time.
A two day stay was not long enough, and we are already planning our next trip back. :)
If a plate of home baked chocolate chip cookies doesn't melt your heart and make you feel welcome….not sure what will. Seriously, BEST Airbnb experiance I have had. This is such a sweet and healing cottage in a wonderful location. The town has sweet little shops and if you like crystals there is a great rock shop! The bed is comfy and the vibes are peaceful. I plan on returning again. Thank you Summer.
The cabin was nice and comfortable. The A/C and internet worked great, and the property was peaceful. Summer was responsive and kind. We had fun meeting the cats.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed to discover that the river bank on the property was extremely rocky, uneven, shrubby, and inhabited by fire ants. We were expecting it to be like the photo--a grassy lawn overhung with tall trees. However, the photo is of the properties across the river. We weren't able to sit peacefully in the grass, picnic, and listen to the river as we had hoped to do. If I had known, I probably would have chosen a different place, because the peaceful river/grass idea was a big draw for me. Future renters should be aware and I think the listing photos should be updated.
This was a great place for a weekend getaway! The cabin and property are beautiful and the views of the river are amazing. Thanks Summer!
This place is absolutely incredible - perfect for anyone wanting to get out of the city. The location meant that it was really quiet late at night, yet wasn't at all secluded from the center of Wimberley (just a 5/10 minute drive).
Summer was happy to help with any questions I had & was able to
advise on places to go / things to do when I was stuck. I'd highly recommend this place if anywhere near this area & I will definitely be back in the future.
Summer made us very welcome. The cabin is a bit overwhelming on the attention to style. Bed is a memory foam mattress which can be great. There is a loft for children with a twin bed. The area is perfect for what we needed.
Spent a cozy valentine’s day weekend here with the boy. Fresh flowers and cookies upon arrival - what a treat! We cooked up a storm and the place had everything we needed to make some delicious meals (maybe bring your own knife or knife sharpener and some oven mitts though). Short little walk down to the river, where my dog Heidi got to run around and play and we got to guzzle red wine out of mason jars and soak up the scenery. The place was super cute and quirky with tons of personality. Also, nice and private, but still so close to town. The only downside that I noticed, is that the place needs a good ‘spring cleaning.’ Refrigerator/freezer need a little wipe down, some left over food that needed tossing, ceiling fans were a bit dusty, the shower curtain lining maybe needs to be replaced, and bathroom fixtures wiped down. Other than that I definitely want to come back in the summer when I can jump in that water myself! Thanks for the stay, Summer!
