Charming 1 bedroom cottage in Wimberley, Texas. Conveniently located less than one mile from the square, Blue Hole Regional Park and one of the last outdoor theaters in the nation, The Corral. Wimberley is one of the best kept secrets of the southwest. We're an easy 45 minute commute to Austin, but the tranquility leaves you feeling as if you traveled back to a simpler time. What a perfect place to feed your soul as you appreciate the unexpected beauty. Relax in the river to the soothing music of the gentle rapids, catch fireflies, throw horseshoes, barbecue, or rock on the wraparound porch as you listen to an occasional donkey on a nearby ranch. This is a place to be EXPERIENCED. Guests have easy access to the Blanco River from our property. While the cottage is appointed with charming antiquities of a bygone era, pressed tin ceilings, wood burning stove, claw foot tub, etc., you will have all the conveniences needed to make your stay enjoyable and economical. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer, cable, HD TV, filtered water, memory foam mattresses and air conditioning. With enough room to feel at home, the cabin boasts a private bedroom with a queen sized bed and a loft hideaway perfect for children with a twin bed. If you'd like to bring a fourth guest, there is space for an air mattress. High speed internet is available nearby. Your flea free pets are welcome with an additional deposit and our two dogs will enthusiastically greet you upon arrival. I enjoying hosting guests and will accommodate your wishes whether it be for assistance or privacy. All linens are provided along with organic produce from the gardens when available. Summer made us very welcome. The cabin is a bit overwhelming on the attention to style. Bed is a memory foam mattress which can be great. There is a loft for children with a twin bed. The area is perfect for what we needed.
Spent a cozy valentine’s day weekend here with the boy. Fresh flowers and cookies upon arrival - what a treat! We cooked up a storm and the place had everything we needed to make some delicious meals (maybe bring your own knife or knife sharpener and some oven mitts though). Short little walk down to the river, where my dog Heidi got to run around and play and we got to guzzle red wine out of mason jars and soak up the scenery. The place was super cute and quirky with tons of personality. Also, nice and private, but still so close to town. The only downside that I noticed, is that the place needs a good ‘spring cleaning.’ Refrigerator/freezer need a little wipe down, some left over food that needed tossing, ceiling fans were a bit dusty, the shower curtain lining maybe needs to be replaced, and bathroom fixtures wiped down. Other than that I definitely want to come back in the summer when I can jump in that water myself! Thanks for the stay, Summer!
Summer was great at making sure if we needed anything we could contact her before or during our stay and was very welcoming. We loved that this cottage was dog friendly since we brought our two dogs along with us and there was room outside for them to explore. The river was a quick little walk away for a nice quiet little adventure with the pups. The cottage itself was great and we loved the additional loft space even though we didn't actually use it. It has a nice little stove to keep the place heated (or for making smores) and the kitchen had everything we needed and more for making meals, as well as washer and dryer and WIFI which a lot of places I have stayed at in the past don't offer. I found the things that were complaints in past feedbacks were the things we really liked about the spot and found rustic and homey. (For example, the claw foot tub and bathroom decor made it feel less like a mundane space and more like a cottage which is what we were obviously looking for when renting here.) We would definitely return to this cottage again especially with the added bonus of a place to swim close by.
The River Song Cottage was absolutely beautiful. The cottage was nice and clean, it had a washer and dryer and even came with a grill which my fiance and I used to make steaks. We enjoyed the short walk down to the river, the views were beautiful. Summer's dog even came around one day and played very well with our dog.
The cottage was decorated adorably, the bottle of prosecco was a nice touch. Also, the ability to have river access and walk the property was wonderful! I would love to come back during warmer weather!
