Carole met us promptly, and gave us lots of information about the area. It is a large, clean house, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room/kitchen and a sunroom with a large table. It would be great for families. She also left some delicious bread. it is quiet and out of town so a car is needed. The only negative was it was cold so we had to buy logs for the wood burner to keep warm. She also had some heaters but since we had to pay for electricity, we used logs.
We loved staying in Carole's peaceful haven. It was lovely to have our own space. Our not having international phone service caused us a bump at the beginning, but was she was great and everything worked out beautifully. She left us detailed information about the house and the area; delivered a wonderful loaf of bread and jam for breakfast and couldn't have been more helpful.
Carole's house was a delight, we really enjoyed our weekend there. The house had everything we needed and Carole and Tom were always just a call away if we needed anything. Our favourite part was the lovely garden, perfect for having a bbq and relaxing after a busy day of exploring the beautiful peninsula. It's only a 5 minute car journey from town, though I wouldn't advise walking as it's quite a busy main road. Overall a perfect place from which to enjoy everything Dingle has to offer; we would definitely stay again. Thanks Carole!
Visited Dingle for a relaxing weekend with friends. Location of house ideal! The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I will definitely return when visiting Dingle again.
We planned our trip with not much lead time so were delighted that Peaceful Haven was available. Carole and husband Tom were a pure delight. Carole welcomed us with some beginning provisions and a welcome tea. She gave us a tour of the fully-equipped and loving restored 150 year old house and showed us the quirks of the microwave, wifi and heating system.
It's a delightfully private house, and I enjoyed mornings in the garden, birdwatching, and admiring the sheep and deer in the adjoining fields.
Located on Slea Drive on the other side of the bridge from Dingle Town, the house is just outside the tourist hubbub. There were just the two of us, but the house could easily accommodate more with three bedrooms. Staying in a holiday house as opposed to a B&B or hotel is our preferred way of feeling more a part of the community, making simple meals and enjoying the benefit of privacy.
I give this my highest recommendation!
This was our second time to stay here. The house was perfect for us. Great location just a few minutes outside of town. House was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. Carole and Tom were were lovely, very accommodating and always at the other end of the phone if we had any questions. Will definitely be back before the summer is out.
Carole and Tom were delightful, helpful and patient hosts. The house was very comfortable, but our favorite feature was the field of deer next door. We would certainly stay again.
About the Host, Carole
I like to walk and I live in a beautiful part of Ireland where we have sea, mountains, streams and an abundance of wild flora which make for very pleasant and interesting places to walk. I look forward to seeing our guests enjoy the area, it's history, it's culture and all it has to offer.
