You can wake up to the sounds of the birds and the breeze through the trees and hear and see nature at work all around you . It is a place to relax and unwind and leave stress at the door yet still stay in touch with the wider world as we now have a wifi facility. The house and land benefit from a southern aspect. The air is clean. You will have views from the door of red deer and sheep grazing in the fields.

The kitchen contains a fridge, hob unit, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board and plenty of storage presses. The living area has a solid fuel room heater range and also central heating. The conservatory looks out on a garden and orchard. The garden contains some kitchen herbs for your use.

Very lovely, cosy cottage. Carole had fresh scones, cream and a log fire waiting for us on arrival. Definite thumbs up.
Carole was a friendly, enthusiastic, and generous hostess. She seemed genuinely interested in us and our interests--knowing we were in Ireland to research family and explore natural areas, Carole provided us with genealogy websites (and WiFi), trail guides, and a birding book. Her attention to detail is evident in the cleanliness of the cottage. The privacy and washing machine were perfect.
Carole was absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for a better hostess in our short stay in Dingle. A pure delight.
Carole is the sweetest and pays great attention to your comfort at her house....When we arrived she already had the stove stoked so the house was toasty warm and she even had homemade scones and jam waiting for us! We loved the house as well as her...ha! The sunroom was a bonus for us to have breakfast and the washer was a definite plus for us to get some much needed laundry done.
It was so nice for the 4 of us to have the house to ourselves we mad a wonderful dinner, shared some wine, wished we could have stayed longer, 2 days just werent enough....
Carole's house keeps all the promises made: Secluded, but yet 5 mins drive outside of Dingle. A cozy well kept house with everything needed & a perfect base for exploring the Dingle peninsula. Carole was a very warm & welcoming host, and not just because of the trayfull of self-baked scones waiting at our arrival.
We had an amazing time at Carole's place. The house was very comfortable and the surrounding area was magic! The house was spacious and quiet with a nice kitchen and common area. Carole was extremely helpful and professional and guided us through all aspects of staying there. We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Carole!
We had a wonderful four night stay at Carole's Peaceful Haven in mid June, 2013. We arrived very late, about 10:30 p.m., after a long drive from Mizen Head and Carole was very gracious about it and even met us at a local landmark to guide us to the farmhouse. She welcomed us with fresh scones which was much appreciated as we only had a few sandwiches from the road for food that night. The farmhouse is in a good location just outside the charming town of Dingle and right at the beginning of the Slea Head drive which is a must do experience. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable and cozy. The downstairs floor can get a bit cold in the morning so slippers or other footware are advised. We loved being able to build a fire in the fireplace to warm the place after a day of sightseeing and provide an extra cozy atmosphere. Our nine year old daughter loved the deer in the field next door and eating breakfast in the sunporch. There is no Wi-Fi there but we stopped at the TI office in Dingle and logged into the free service there through Bitbuzz. The town of Dingle is great and we really enjoyed the sights of the Dingle peninsular. A favorite on the Slea Head drive was the beach from the movie Ryan's Daughter, it had been raining that morning but when we got to the beach the weather brightened and our daughter was able to enjoy running in the surf and sand. We did a side trip up through the beautiful Conor Pass to Tralee to take our daughter to the Aquadome indoor water park for a kid-friendly day away fom the castles and tours, she loved it. Spending four days in quiet Dingle in the middle of our two week trip around the southern part of Ireland was a relaxing experience and recharged us before our two nights in County Clare and then over to Dublin for our last three nights in Ireland. Carole was a great host and we truly enjoyed our stay at Peaceful Haven near sea and wood.
We had a great stay at Carole's flat outside of Dingle. The farmhouse was very comfortable and Carole was very nice, welcoming us with seem superb scenes! We travelled with two young children and they enjoyed it as there is a nice flat Grassy area outside that they could play on.
The farmhouse has no wifi or TV so after our initial techno-detox we really enjoyed the serenity! It was nice to be outside of the town as we got a real sense of calm after a busy day of touring around. The house was fully equipped with washing machine, kitchen utensils, towels and two bathrooms.
Thank you Carole for a lovely stay in a truly superb location!
Carole is a lovely person: so friendly, hospitable, and genuinely a joy to talk with. (We only wish we had more time to get to know her!) Our first evening, she drove us into town for our evening there, and she drove us around - showing us all of the popular places to go before she dropped us off in town. She had numerous guides, information about the area, and maps for us, so we were very well equipped for our stay in the Dingle Peninsula.
The cottage is so quaint, charming, clean, and comfortable! The wood-burning fireplace was our favorite gathering place after coming home from the pubs in Dingle. Carole provided several delicious scones and milk for our breakfast that we enjoyed before we left for our daily activities.
The location is excellent! The cottage is tucked away in a little quiet, private drive off the Slea Head Dr. only 2 kilometers from the town of Dingle. It is surrounded by a sheep farm and a deer farm. We loved eating our breakfast and drinking coffee in the little porch when it rained or at the end of the driveway next to the deer farm, where we could see a little view of the mountains and the bay. We could easily get to the town of Dingle. (We would either drive and park in town and drive home or walk into town - when it is light out - and catch a taxi on our way home.) (Kathleen was our taxi driver, and it was lovely getting to know her during our stay.)
Dingle is a wonderful town with great pubs, music, and shops, and it is a BEAUTIFUL bay town. We loved An Droichead Beag and O'Sullivan's Courthouse Pub! (Great people, atmosphere, and excellent music!) Lord Baker's on Main St. had excellent food if you are looking for a 2 or 3 course dinner, and Reel A Fish (a small take-away) has excellent (and VERY fresh) fish and chips that we would take to the dock and eat.
The Slea Head drive around the Dingle Peninsula is a MUST! (We did it twice!) And we actually enjoyed hiking the Pilgrim's Path... (You can get maps and directions at the local bookstore.) However, be aware that it is not a short walk (18 kilometers), and it is definitely not an easy hike and is not for "casual strollers!" We are hikers, and we loved it, but we did get lost after we walked through the sheep farms (up the mountain past Kilmalkedar Church.) -- We couldn't find the signs, so be careful, or just plan to end your trip at Kilmalkedar.
This was a WONDERFUL trip! We LOVED Carole and the cottage, and highly recommend this stay! The Dingle Peninsula is a MUST-SEE for your Ireland visit! Thanks, Carole! Many blessings to you and yours and let us know if you are ever in Chicago!
We had a delightful stay in the outskirts of Dingle. Carole and her husband made us feel very welcome to the area and kindly set us up with some food to start off our visit. Carole is warm and helpful and was very responsive to our needs. The house is about 3 km from Dingle and it's a nice walk into town taking the less busy back roads. Carole's house was fully appointed with what we needed and was cozy. There was also a covered outdoor porch/sun room which got surprisingly warm even on cooler days. Dingle has some lovely restaurants and don't miss the live music in many venues in town. We visited O'Sullivan's Courthouse which was fun but there are several other venues as well. As Carole had advertised there is no Internet in the house. For us we arranged to get a data SIM from Vodaphone in a pre pay plan which gave us 5 Gb for 20 Euros and that worked well for our trip as a whole. Thank you Carole for a wonderful time in Dingle.
