The house is set back from the Slea Head road, just outside Dingle, so a lovely quiet location. Carole welcomed us with tea brack. The house hadn't been occupied in some time and was freezing when we arrived at 9pm on Good Friday. Tom came round with electric blankets, but it took about 24 hours until the house was warm. Thankfully the weather was good and that helped to warm up the house.
Carole's cottage is wonderful and a great way to experience Dingle. Five of us fit very comfortably in the cottage during our two night stay and had no problems. The cottage was an easy 5 minute drive to center of Dingle and is located on the road you would take to begin the ring of dingle drive.
We had difficulties with our phones while traveling but Carole was very understanding even when we arrived later than expected. She had scones and jam waiting for us and gave us great information about things to do in Dingle. I would definitely stay at Carole's cottage when returning to Dingle.
We have stayed in Dingle before and know that getting a quiet room can be difficult. Peaceful Haven is just that and the pictures of the deer herd on the adjacent lot are (email hidden) is, as advertised, only a short drive into Dingle Town. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable except for the beds, which seems to be a common failing. Also, we felt that Carole Lynne may be putting too much emphasis on the supplemental electricity cost with the result that the heating is not employed often enough to keep the cottage from being damp. We appreciated Carole Lynne's greeting us with fresh scones and jam, and our interactions with her were pleasant. It was also fun to watch the man next door training his sheep dogs.
Carole was very welcoming and gave us a thorough orientation to the cottage which was more than adequate. Lovely quiet setting just outside of Dingle town which was touristy so it was good not to be right in the thick of it.
We enjoyed this peaceful haven from the moment we arrived! The directions was clear and we found the place easily. Our friendly host, Carole, made us feel welcome from the start - thank you for the lovely scones!
We had a most comfortable stay with quick access to the town, beach and a lovely day drive out on the Dingle peninsula.
I highly recommend this place if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but still be near and experience everything that Dingle and the peninsula has to offer.
When we return to Dingle in the future I will strongly consider renting this place again!
Must also mention the WiFi was great to have.
We had a great stay at this house. We used this as a base for exploring the Dingle Peninsula, Blasket Island, and hanging out in the town of Dingle. We especially loved the sunroom and spent most of our time out here when at home. The kitchen was basic and allowed us to prepare some meals and the wifi worked well for e-mail and trip research. We didn't mind being a little bit out of town and feeling relaxed surrounded by nature. The listing is as described and pictured, and Carole was a nice hostess answering any questions and sharing some interesting history about the area and people. We appreciated the maps and information provided....and of course the homemade scones. Thanks for opening your home to us Carole!
My husband and I were thrilled with our experience staying at this wonderful home. Perfectly located a short drive from Dingle town, off the main road but tucked away in a peaceful spot. I was preparing for the Dingle Marathon race and it was a great place to call home, very cozy with all necessary amenities and great wi-fi. Carol is a wonderful host and sweet lady, very helpful and available for any questions/issues. Her scones provided on arrival are a nice treat!! I would recommend this home.
I like to walk and I live in a beautiful part of Ireland where we have sea, mountains, streams and an abundance of wild flora which make for very pleasant and interesting places to walk. I look forward to seeing our guests enjoy the area, it's history, it's culture and all it has to offer.
