The Space

We would like to welcome you to our cosy, comfortable, renovated 19th century farmhouse, set in peaceful surroundings, 3kms from Dingle town centre and 100mts up from the main Dingle Slea Head road on it's own private farm lane. It is a haven to enjoy tranquility and a connection with nature - almost a step back in time. You can wake up to the sounds of the birds and the breeze through the trees and hear and see nature at work all around you . It is a place to relax and unwind and leave stress at the door yet still stay in touch with the wider world as we now have a wifi facility. The house and land benefit from a southern aspect. The air is clean. You will have views from the door of red deer and sheep grazing in the fields.
The house has 3 bedrooms, one of which is en-suite. There is a bathroom, a kitchen cum dining area and living area. The kitchen contains a fridge, hob unit, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board and plenty of storage presses. The living area has a solid fuel room heater range and also central heating. The conservatory looks out on a garden and orchard. The garden contains some kitchen herbs for your use.
The popular harbour town of Dingle will delight you with it's many amenities - fishing port and harbour, marina and aquarium. Boat trips around the harbour and to see Fungie, our resident dolphin are available. There are many areas of historical and archaeological interest in Dingle and around the Dingle Peninsula. Restaurants, craft shops and pubs are many in number. Irish traditional music can be heard in many locations. You can hear our native Gaelic language in use.
Should you wish to travel to Tralee or the lakes of Killarney or even the Ring of Kerry you will find that this house can be used as a suitable base. Popular places to see west of Dingle are the Blasket Islands, Dunquin, Slea Head, Gallarus Oratory and many beautiful beaches such as Ventry, Clogher and Coumeenole. To the north lie Mount Brandon, Connor Pass and the Maharees and to the East is Inch Beach which featured in Ryan's Daughter.
We have local knowledge which is available to you.
Smoking is not allowed in the house.
We cannot allow pets as the house is on a farm.
There is wifi facility in the house.
Just remember that it is an older house.

  • My wife and I stayed at Carole's farmhouse for one night during our trip to Ireland. We booked it the morning we stayed and Carole was very responsive and let us check in early that day. She also posted a sign on the road to help us find the place which was very helpful!

The house was clean and very quiet - located about a 5 minute drive from downtown Dingle. Carole was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we loved our stay at her place and would definitely recommend it.

  • Fantastic place. Stayed here with my husband and his parents for 2 nights. Perfect location just outside Dingle town. The house was great- plenty of room, very comfy, and the conservatory is a wonderful place to eat breakfast.

  • we loved this house and Carole was wonderful. She gave us all the info we needed. The house is comfortable and spacious. While it is very close to the city sites the roads were too narrow and treacherous for us to walk but it was a very quick taxi ride or drive to the city. enjoyed our stay there very much and would recommend it

  • Great location - a couple kilometers west of downtown Dingle, back from the road, surrounded by fields, some with many sheep! Just across the road, through a small woods, was an arm of the bay - great for strolling. It says "peaceful" and it is! The cottage is the real thing - been there for generations, but completely updated and very comfortable and clean. And Carole was terrific - knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. We wished we could have stayed longer!

  • The place was absolutely lovely! Carole met us at the gas station and guided us to the house where we found some nice fresh baked goods and fuel to start a fire. The place was perfectly clean and a nice walk from town.

Carole was incredibly helpfull in giving us directions and setting us up in the place. I would defenitly book again when I'm back in Dingle!

  • Thank you Carole for a perfect stay in Dingle Bay. Your house was perfect for the four of us and a great base to explore the area. Very peaceful and we enjoyed beautiful weather so made the most of the washing line for wetsuits and the garden for sunbathing.
Great spot to enjoy the slea head pass, surfing at the beaches on the peninsula and enjoying the town itself. Plenty going on for all!

  • Very lovely, cosy cottage. Carole had fresh scones, cream and a log fire waiting for us on arrival. Definite thumbs up.

  • Carole was a friendly, enthusiastic, and generous hostess. She seemed genuinely interested in us and our interests--knowing we were in Ireland to research family and explore natural areas, Carole provided us with genealogy websites (and WiFi), trail guides, and a birding book. Her attention to detail is evident in the cleanliness of the cottage. The privacy and washing machine were perfect.

  • Carole was absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for a better hostess in our short stay in Dingle. A pure delight.
