We were looking for a quiet week away from it all and that's exactly what this cozy cottage had to offer. You could easily find contentment splitting your time between the dock and the porch overlooking the lake, but the swimming, boating and the campfires were great as well. Sun or rain, the lake was just beautiful and serene (and warm!) all week. The grill and the fully functioning kitchen made cooking for everyone a breeze and there was plenty of sleeping space to boot.
We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The lake is absolutely beautiful, clean and quiet. They have plenty of boats and rafts to enjoy the water. The house is on the smaller side but somehow managed to easily sleep our group of nine.
Great getaway for a 3 nights and 4 days! Such a beautiful and peaceful lake. We loved the house. We enjoyed all of the water toys/boats available and spent a lot of time on the water and the floating dock. We also took full advantage of the bbq grill, outdoor dining table, and firepit. It was just as advertised - a very rustic home with lots of comfort. We'd return again in the future, for sure.
We had a wonderful stay at this unique property. Echo lake is a treasure for those looking for a beautiful lake to swim, hike, fish and canoe. The lake does not have formal restrictions about gas powered boats but the few folks on the lake have generally abided by electric or paddle power. We loved the boats in the shed and took long naps on the porch. Stephanie was responsive to our needs and the neighbors were super friendly.
One place that we didn't navigate properly was the culinary choices in Booneville. We didn't have realistic expectations regarding the restaurant options, and the Supermarket shelves while expansive lacked fresh fish. In hindsight, we should have brought our own or fished in the lake. We did enjoy the rustic town and went to the local country fair--I had never been. In Old Forge, we can strongly recommend Sisters Bistro.
We'd definitely consider going back again. Having left our kids with my parents at home, we had the perfect getaway.
